I like your sincerity. Many Nigerian women are involved in that evil, including my own wife. I think that's just a reflection of their inherent inability to handle power when given one. It's also the same reason women who are their families' breadwinners maltreat/oppress their husbands. |

Georgejeez: I support this bill with my full chest . To whom much is given , much is expected , it's Medical fraud for you to study Medicine on tax payers money for 7 to 8 years , then when it's time to return the favour , you run away to abroad and also rub it on the faces of the upcoming ones to also toe the same line .
If you know and you know that you know that the bill is against your freedom of choice and tantamount to slavery etc , then don't bother to study Medicine in our Public Universities . Better go and study Bio Chem or SLT , if you must study Med , then go to Ghana and other African countries to do that .
But if you want to study Medicine here , you must do that 5 years after your graduation or else declared wanted if you japa before the expiration of 5 years ..
Nonsense and Doctors, selfish and self centered lots , enemies of the State. Sometimes, i wonder where cretaures like you emerge from! Who told you doctors are trained with taxpayers money in Nigeria, for God's sake Did you ever pass through a University in Nigeria? If so, did you ever pay school fees and other dues from your 1st to the final year? Again, if so, did you get all those money from the government? Now, do you know that medical students spend far more that whatever amounts you spent during your own schooling? Do you know that many of us whose parents are/were average had those parents borrowed and/or sold valuable properties to be able to afford their training fees? May God never give any country more than one of such creatures that reason like you. More than one of you in any country would be a disaster. |

Politics › Re: Governor-Elect, Fr. Alia, Condemns Killings In Umogidi, Benue Community by ChybuzzDD(m): 4:41pm On Apr 07, 2023 |
Freestyl: In a shocking incident that has rocked the Nigerian state of Benue, suspected herdsmen have been accused of carrying out a brutal attack on the Umogidi community, leaving at least 46 people dead.
The incident occurred in the Entekpa-Adoka district of Otukpo Local Government Area, just a day after the same village had been attacked, resulting in the deaths of three people who were being prepared for burial.
The Governor-Elect of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has condemned the killings in the strongest possible terms. Speaking from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, on April 7, 2023, Fr. Alia described the incident as a heinous act that has left the entire community in shock and despair.
The attack on Umogidi community is the latest in a string of violent incidents that have plagued Benue State in recent years. Tensions have been high between farmers and herdsmen over grazing rights, leading to clashes that have resulted in numerous deaths and injuries.
The Benue State government, led by Governor Samuel Ortom, has been criticized for their handling of the situation, with many accusing them of failing to take decisive action to curb the violence. The Governor-Elect has called for urgent measures to be put in place to protect innocent citizens and prevent further bloodshed.
Fr. Alia has also urged the federal government to take swift action to address the root causes of the conflict between farmers and herdsmen in Benue State. He has called for dialogue and engagement between all stakeholders to find a lasting solution to the problem.
The incident has sparked outrage across Nigeria, with many calling for justice and accountability for the perpetrators of the attack. The international community has also condemned the violence and called on the Nigerian government to take action to protect its citizens and ensure that such incidents do not occur again.
As investigations continue into the attack on Umogidi community, the people of Benue State are left to mourn the loss of their loved ones and wonder when the cycle of violence will finally come to an end.
Angula Bishop Reuben writes from Makurdi.

emmaodet: Second one is Life Insurance. How does it work?
Register as the principal for a life insurance and include your beneficiary. If anything happens with the time insured, a pay-out will be made to the beneficiary.
For example, i did a 20k per month life insurance for 10 years. This means in 10 years i will have 2.4m with them plus interest which will be paid out if am alive but incase anything happens, a sum of 13m plus will be release to my beneficiary thereby easing the pressure eon the beneficiary. If my wife receive 13m incase of my demise, first it will take out the pressure and fear of how she will do her life with the kids in my absence. it will also give her the money to do the burial rites without involving or dragging family into it. It is all about planning. How did you arrive at that 13m, please? |

Moreso sometimes, when I sleep it will looks as if the surgery spot wants to tears up. I went to the hospital, they said it's normal but my sister-in-law said I should take some antibiotics(amoxicalav 1g) so as to tackle any undering line issue inside. What do I need to do bcs I still having the sensations . Please I need your advice If these symptoms you described are only limited to the laparoscopy wound/scar, then it's normal. At 3weeks, scars are still immature and unstable, and are bound to exhibit those symptoms, especially if they're becoming hypertrophic(growing above the skin level). It is not necessarily due to an infection. |

youngscholar: I was coming back from school back then in 2010, then I was in JSS1 (10yrs old). I was heading home from school under a hot sun, when I came across a friend who instantly told me that "Lanre, your dad is dead". I didn't know how I took my legs to run. As I was running, I could see various pitying faces looking at me.
When I got home, I saw a lot of sittings, my mum and family members all crying. I didn't know how I went to the ground crying and weeping.
That was on the 10th of October 2023.
Fast Forward to 2016. I'm through with secondary school. I have always had interest in tech, been coding (Wapka websites) since SS1. I got a job offer to be a media editor for an automotive company. This was a platform to tune my skills.
I started learning web development, building mobile apps and with the little I learnt, I got few clients here on Nairaland. I've been a member of Nairaland since 2016.
To cut the story short, on Feb 14, my mum was rushed to LUTH due to a sickness she's been struggling with since 2021. (She had a serious accident in August 2020).
I stayed with my Mum in LUTH for almost 2 months not until yesterday April 4th 2023 when she gave up the ghost.
Though painful but God has taken back what he has given.
Now, it's just God and my siblings.
Please I need your prayers as we move on.
I pray you never experience such. Amen. Accept my sincerest condolences. |

Persephone1: This is gross.
Nigerians and their misplaced hardness. We are already in a loveless ,dog eat dog world and we keep killing every form of humanity in us with some unreasonable "wokeness"
Birthdays ought to be celebrated, it means you remember the day you were born and grateful for it. It is only reasonable to support or at least be happy for whoever chooses to celebrate his or her day. Life is hard and sometimes not worth celebrating if someone chooses to be happy and merry for a day, it is only expected of a sane being to atleast show support or pretend to.
When people send you pictures, it is to help you remember them. They shouldn't be the one to do that but they understand YOU ARE BUSY. It won't kill you to type shortest HBD if you are too busy or uncaring to congratulate someone who knows you and find you worthy enough to share their big day with you.
It's very ironic when people like you litter the internet and WhatsApp with pictures of dead friends or relatives inscribing RIP in different fonts and colours whereby you complain of them reminding you to celebrate them when they are alive. Na your type dey carry dead people picture follow undertaker. Nonsense!
PS: I don't celebrate birthdays big, I don't share pictures with contacts on my birthday either but I appreciate those who remember and celebrate me.
I just find your post entirely gross! Which countries outside nigeria do you see people waste their limited time and resources celebrating birthdays? If for anything, the celebration is even more common in Nigeria where many girls like you use it as a means of fund-raising. There's absolutely nothing worth celebrating about birthdays. If you must celebrate, do so for your achievements, not birthdays. |

Tomiwasamuel: There is an evil which the daughters and sons of men have put into practice this days that ought not to be so. I know birthdays are days of celebration to many but there are some of us who either see birthdays as insignificant or as equal as the other days of the year. First of, know that no body owe you the responsibility of putting your birthday before other things in their life, if I can't even remember mine why should I remember yours? Secondly, if I don't send you a message or give you a call on your birthday it doesn't mean I don't wish you well, how important is my good will message to you being alive next year? Thirdly, with emphasis on the ladies, stop demanding anyone to get you a birthday gift, if you need something start contributing the money and buy it for yourself. Also you can gift us some snacks on your birthday if gifts are so important. In conclusion, please stop flooding our DM with your pictures a day before your birthday, if we want to post you we know where to get it. Sending me your pictures doesn't mean I will post you or even send you a happy birthday message. I mean no problem, this is the bitter truth and I just said it. TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT Supported. |

Are you telling us you have never been in a situation where you had to trust a stranger for one thing or another before?? An Indian guy just met me along the road 2days ago and pleaded for me to snap him with his phone. So, he was careless for handing over his phone to a stranger? If i decided to run away with his phone, i would be the one who had a problem, and not him who placed his trust on me. As humans, we are bound to place that trust on people sometimes in our lives and it's purely normal. What such people eventually do with the trust is left for them and is completely outside our control. It doesn't always represent carelessness on our own part. |
