If you need a date or previous one in Abuja was cancelled, contact them today or tomorrow.
However, note that once you fill that form and you send it, you must be on standby as you may be given date within the next 10 days or so.
This thing dey sweet...
At least every student will know that appointment is sure for them.

My school insisted on not mailing the i-20 to me, as the DSO insisted she had spoken with Homeland Security and the DHS has communicated the Nigerian embassy to accept emailed i-20.

She now requested that I mail the embassy and send their response to her. I mailed them on Wednesday and they replied this morning. Please check the response below:

What can I do now?

NB: There is emergency Lagos appointment dates, even if you don't have any appointment at all. I was mailed on that also.

If that screenshot is the response from the embassy, i think it's clear enough. Print out your 120 in a good paper and go with it.

BTW share the part of the emergency appointment dates of your mail so others can benefit from it

Friday Nov 13 appointment currently available at Abuja Embassy. Be quick to book it.

These dates are fast filling. When i first logged in it was November 9th,now its up to 13th

I spoke with my school international program officer he said the USICE guideline is that 120s are to be issued via email not posted by mail till further approval from the government. He said they hv issued emailed i20 to many international students who hv obtained th their visa before there fall semester including those from Africa region.

You have to let him know the perculiarities from your end and conviince him you are ready to pay for shipping. It is the same I-20 but this one is just shipped. Meanwhile, use your soft copy to fill your DS form

For once, I agree. The law of reciprocity should be applied in this instant. If you cannot allow us into your country then there should be no reason why you would want to come over. It is not a competition, it is just what it is. Every country is taking measures to ensure that they are not necessarily cheated out of anything.

You are possibly right about the embassy reopening being later in the year. Deferring is not the only option though.

She's right to say schools are being sympathetic with their international students home and outside the U.S. Despite covid-19, there are international students who still have GA, scholarship, and admission deferred to Spring 2021 with funding intact. Someone said here that the scholarship is on paper. I wonder if that dude is a spokesman for all the colleges and universities in the US. Just today, my sister received scholarship worth of $28K. It is not on paper; it is real. Most schools in the US are really showing empathy to their international student. A friend in Nigeria recently got 90% tuition scholarship to study her course online, and the balance can be paid when she arrives on campus in January. What you don't know don't say you know. People are finding grace where you see shadow.

I can attest to this. My school released a whole new scholarship line for international students that won't be able to resume on campus to reduce their fees by up to $4,000. You may not really know about your options until you ask.

Personally, I have also received some relief that is the best option for me right now without having to ultimately defer. So I implore all to ask and open your mind to being flexible.

ICE just released a new regulation banning new international students from entering the country if your school is entirely online. This rule also stops consulates from issuing visas and school officials issuing I-20s to students going to schools that are online only.

At this point it won't even matter if the embassy is not open at all. Whether you are doing online or face to face, if embassy doesn't open for fall, this rule for us is almost void.
