My brother was a victim. He married his wife in Nigeria, helped her over and she became a total bitch. My brother is the coolest chap you will ever meet. Even before she started working, she started insulting him in ways that NOBODY can take. Eventually they divorced. It was God that helped him that he had plenty money to hire the best lawyers. He got main custody of his son by sheer luck and she is supposed to be paying him child support sef but he doesn't take it.
He just wants to cut any interaction with her out of his life.
He lost so much money-almost 5 years worth.
Now he is dating an Indian girl he works with at his tech company and he is having a happier life.

My point is that if we make marriage about that specific aspect (he paid her this and that), isn’t it then easy to say that once she paid it back she’s free to do as she pleases with him? Think about it.

Instead of preaching love and real heartfelt togetherness, we are championing a master servant dynamic that is based on “he paid for this so he owns you”. You realize that doesn’t favor your argument. Because once she’s paid back, what else does he have to say?

They placed so much value on the fact that most of the husbands facilitate the wives documents, traveling, schooling etc to America'. For them, it's enough own lives.

They don't even see the wives as victims.

First of all only a few of them can afford to pay fees out of pocket for schooling in America. Very very few. Visa fees and travel fees only amount to few thousand dollars. If they are seeing it as something she owes, she can easily pay that back within a month of working.

For the very few who can afford tuition, if what they invested in the education is the issue, all that stuff can be paid back in a few years of the wife earning a good income. So when does she stop owing him?

If that’s what their marriage is about, then she’s free to do as she pleases once she feels she’s paid back enough. Right? Does that make sense in a healthy marriage?

They don’t even think of it like that because it doesn’t help their argument one bit.
