It takes more than loyalty to bond as friends - altruism and faithfulness are the core attributes of friendship.

Over familiarity will always breeds contempt where ethical leanings differs. Once more, a friend(s) is someone whom one shares ethical leanings with - contrary to this, what one has is a frenemy.

My argument if you observe , deliberately avoided touching directly the notion of moral subjectivity or objectivity. Rather it instead tries more to make you see the severity of harm this vice, does to society and the people in it.
