Reference:I always like a guy who knows his stuff. Too many people here don't know enough. They think it's all about the way it looks in movies. |
endeavor:Dude, it depends on the type of war you are fighting. Those planes look sexy yes, but are designed more for air to air combat and air to ground when dealing with ships, tanks, surface to air missile batteries etc ie more conventional warfare. They won't do all well against rag tag types of ground forces we are dealing with. |
gidgiddy:The planes have an old school look indeed, but it does seem to come equipped with relatively modern avionics. I guess it meets our need for unsophisticated air to surface attacks considering we are dealing with bandits and militants. |
The Maisonette in the estate behind Femi Okunnu is about N80mln and government will say its delivering affordable housing!! Housing in Lagos is way more expensive than it needs to be. If LASG want to help, they should build high rise 1, 2 and 3 apartment building, nothing overly fancy for middle class just starting out. However I am not sure there can be any really affordable housing for our version of the common man. Even if a 2bed flat is N20mln or rent is N1mln per year, that's still too much for the so called common man in Nigeria. While Lagos properties are expensive, part of the problem is the very low earning power of Nigerians relative to cost of building. |
I'm curious. Does he bang as a guy and 'give' to babes? Or does he bang as a girl and 'receives' from guys? |
I watched a video by Tayo Aina on a $200k Jo Bourg property recently and it got me thinking. I never really thought about it till now, but are we really getting 'VALUE' for the properties we buy in Nigeria compared to South Africa for the same price? Based on what I see, it seems not. South African houses have better overall architectural design, SA houses have better use of interior space, SA houses have bigger windows and more natural light, SA houses have better fit and finish (some of the quality of finishes we are asked to pay up to N80mln for is just shocking at times), SA houses have better greenery around and SA houses have better environmental ambiance. Take a look at the pdf presentation in the link below comparing equivalently priced SA (Pretoria) house vs Nigeria (Osapa) house and let's have a conversation on what you think between the two. Both are circa N78mln. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1w7Mr2ARjltF1qn6wpQI-Si8AHCEat622/view?usp=sharing If you think SA offers a much better total value proposition, I wonder why Lekki is full of N100mln+ houses? Even as far as Osapa, Agungi, Ologolo, Ikate and Okota!! In Pinnock beach, a number of new contemporary properties go for as high as N200mln. Definition of value differs, but FOR ME, I am really struggling to see the value proposition in our properties. |
The current ban on Okada and Keke has already failed. There are already everywhere now. Only places you wont see them is maybe VI and Marina, but beyond Lekki toll gate, they are at all the junctions. When are going to get serious in this country? |
LASG didn't think there was an issue though when they allowed Eko Atlantic to spring up? Neither Banana Island, Oworonshoki sand fill, Ilubirin sand fill and Orange Island!! When they are doing their own, they will tell you there is no issue. But they are complaining about something the FG (or British Government more appropriately) did in 1912!!! I rest my case. |
dre11:They will talk with one side of their mouth and conduct themselves with the other side. I've always wondered why MMIA has sooooo many people inside and outside the terminal building. More than 50% of whom are not going anywhere. I don't see why everything in this country is rocket science! is it so hard to enforce rules of loitering?? What's the big deal there? Give me the job and the place will be sane in 1 month. If people do not stay away, then they will simply be arrested. However, that is not to say that there is any harm in family members coming to see people off. It's usually a big deal in Nigeria because the space in the terminal is so small for the many airlines. But it's those who just hang around for hours on end doing nothing I'm referring to that have no business there. |
I hope those flocking around her to monetize her success will allow her to concentrate on her tennis. Once she starts to get into too many endorsements, publicity appearances, photo shoots, attending to the 'gram', if she is not careful, it may be the beginning of her derailment from the top of the game. This is all the more important because she is still quite young. |
KINGreignn:Nope! It competes with 5 series, A6, E Class and LexusGS |
Thetruthalways:Unfortunately come back in 5 years and look at this terminal. It would already have started to fall apart. We lack maintenance culture and processes here. Best thing is to privatise it. MM2 Is still looking good after all these years, with some upgrades even. |
Lipscomb:Calm down! There is nothing wrong with the railway at are building. We need what works for us instead of trying to compete with bullet trains. Countries with bullet trains are probably not more than 20 in the world. Even America doesn't have them. If the train can do 140km per hour, whats bad about that? The Virgin rail Pendolino train service which is the most advanced in UK operates at 200km per hour, so what's the fuss? |
There was a thread on Nairaland like a week ago on street markings. This is why our street marking fade very quickly in Nigeria! Cos they using regular paint!!!!!! This is how it should be done. And it should be with Thermoplastics and not regular household paint!!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joWkGyaF-AI

So why doesn't CBN sell them the amount of forex they need, when they need it!! Who in his right mind buys something for 450 of ours available for 380?? |
Guys, not quite as simple as dividing 623m by 1200. There would obviously be a profit mark up on the contract amount. Let's assume it's 20%. That means actual purchase will be N519mln. Simplistically, divide that by 1200 and you get N432k. There are many computers at that price, admittedly higher end ones. Besides our didn't say 1200 computers. It also mentioned printers et Al. If many people on Nairaland who are into It got that contract, they wouldn't complain. Point is that 95‰ of those complaining here are just as corrupt. You only really know a man when he's tempted. Most people here who think they have integrity have not really been tempted yet. |
Sweeet Car! A bit pricey though!! |
If FAAN is a goverment agency, shouldn't their salaries be coming directly from the Federal Government? |
Zico5:They must hustle, yes, but must it be at night!!?? |
My sister in Houston lives in a 3 bedroom house and it costs $1,850 per month, which is N740k at 400! Rent in Bodija, Ibadan for similar house will be like N1mln a year. So 2 months of rent in Houston will pay a full year rent in Ibadan. Her Car insurance is $95 a month which is about N456k. Here it costs you much less. So it's not appropriate to convert salaries and compare! |
emmasege:But Nigerian petrol is also the cheapest. Petrol in Ghana is about N280 per litre. Rent is also 'cheap' in Nigeria outside of Lagos, Abuja and PH. So while I do agree that professors should be better paid, perhaps double of that, comparing ditectly to other countries is not accurate. |
seunmsg:Then perhaps you are one of the problems of this country. You are basically saying it doesn't concern you. How about anonymously packaging the findings for EFCC and/or icpc. If you go that far and nothing happens, then I will agree you have domlbe your best. |
MOGPRAISE:If you really believe that on the strength of the building alone then......... ![]() |
Which nonsense manifesto. Manifesto means nothing to the man on the street. Just nice words that politicians use to confuse us about what they will do, which they never will. Call it manifesto, strategy document, business plan, operating model or whatever, if you are not committed to operating it properly, its just words on paper. |
The babe sabi take picture sha!! Always hiding her fat thighs. If you look at her full frontal, she doesn't look as sexy, but she always uses poses that hides her fat thighs and accentuates her curves! This is to tell anyone thinking of modelling that striking the right pose makes awhile lot of difference. |
Tundem88:Very disappointed truly!! |
TallPck1:What silly needful is this? Are we running a family business or monarchy here?? |
Are they really working in that office? With the crash in government revenue of expect to have heard a lot more about what they are doing in conjunction with ministry of finance on the budget. There are too many agencies and parastatals who are not making enough of an impact on this country, but are taking from it by way of salaries and overhead costs. |
Exc2000:Is it Nigerian politicians you are using to joke!? If this country has only $1mln of revenue, they will still steal it. |
sarrki:The picture I know is real because I have seen it before. The quote above it on the other hand looks like a fake right up! Sent aside emotions for a bit and THINK!! How many planes did we have then to be able to do 1500 destinations!! Are there even 1500 desired destinations in the world!? Newyork, London, Paris, Houston, Washington, Los Angeles, frankfurt, Johannesburg, Madrid, Lisbon, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Moscow and even every capital of the world won't get you over 250! So where is the 1500destinations coming from? Also an annual profit of N150bln ? In those days naira had parity with dollar, so that like saying $150bln!! Really!! Obviously a fake!!! |
