Freestainworld:People won't appreciate what Buhari is doing until he leaves. The man no send anybody....that the reason you have complains in all corners, especially from the elite class. His infrastructural projects are widespread and massive. He has done well too in Agriculture and Solid Minerals. Security and the economy are where the wahala lie, and if you look at it critically, you'd see that they have become huge global issues. |
olumide4christ:The matter taya me o. Na dem use their hands, hold themselves down with PDP, yet dem wan make progress. See wetin their leaders use their money do for NDDC. We saw the revelations during the probe ordered by the presidency. Did these revelations cause the people of the region to demand answers...NO. You need to see how money is squandered in DESOPADEC in Delta state. You will hear things like Rivers or Delta is PDP....rubbish! What are PDP's outstanding accomplishments in those states over the past 20 years? Let them go to Ebonyi and Borno and see what Umahi and Zulum are doing. |
desiredhome:Exactly. Let's even start with our Councillors, LGA Chairmen and State Assembly Members. We keep shouting Buhari as if these representatives are statutes, and not humans. Don't they get fund allocations? And the irony of the matter is, these are people we know their homes, and can readily access their offices. Abi dem dey use juju for us? |
Yorubalandlord:How come both Christians and Muslims voted a Christian-Christian ticket in Osun in a predominantly Muslim state? You guys should drop this issue of religion. It doesn't take us anywhere. I think we should be talking competence, verifiable track record of performance etc. |
Revolution2022:You be small pikin sef? Everyone knows that these people hardly handle their social media pages. You never hear of irresponsibility before? Military officers and police men wey dey harass people and take bribe, na Buhari send them abi? |
PresidObi:Oga, stop the hypocrisy! Your comment reeks of hypocrisy and sentiments. Why did you reference just Atiku and Tinubu? No matter how you see it, they both are citizens of Nigeria and have the right to aspire to any office. Secondly, Atiku and Tinubu can't be responsible for the rot in all the states in Nigeria. Governors get monthly allocations in billions. Do they give their allocations to Tinubu or Atiku? What are the functions of the State Assemblies and LG Chairmen? Why didn't you mention Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso? Are they not former governors? No election will turn violent. Forget the threat! Tinubu and Atiku have rights to contest just as others. What we can do as citizens, is support whoever we deem most suitable, by our own thinking. Everybody can't support your preferred candidate. That is why it is a contest. Na Tinubu and Atiku dey govern Nigeria since 1960? Has Tinubu or Atiku even governed Nigeria before? Go and hold your ward councilor, LGA Chairman, House of Assembly & Reps member, Senator, Cabinet Minister and Governor responsible for those basic things you said that you do not have. |
Humblesam:No be lie bro. I no dey try am. For me, na just to dey focus on saving as much as I can. The expenses fit drive person crazy. |
Moh247:Nobody would take you seriously bro. But what you said is the fact. Umahi is way superior to Obi, in records of governance. I am from Anambra state, yet I know this. You can't match the accomplishments of these two men. Having a pile of short course certifications from Harvard and the rest, isn't what people should be parading as achievements, after getting 8 whole years to serve one of Nigeria's smallest states as Governor. Let's compare Umahi and Obi's accomplishments as governors. It is that simple. |
MALIGNANTGuest:Watch movies again? I sabi the bros for Port Harcourt na.... We don meet for bank for Garrison severally, and we talk sef. He was often accompanied by a tall dark lady. I am not saying that he isn't good with the English language, but proficient? Not sure of that. If you use proficient for r'am, wetin you go come call use for people like IK Osakioduwa, Bob Manuel Udokwu, Bimbo Akintola, Gloria Alozie-Young, Stephanie Okereke, Dakore Egbuson, Liz Benson, Nobert Young etc, including me? |
MALIGNANTGuest:Do you know the true meaning of the word 'proficient'? Read what Odoputa wrote again...'My wife and I wants.....' How proficient is that written English? Abi you dey judge by the quality of English from movie scripts? |
prince3009:For your mind, you don knack grammar...'branchild'. Do you know its meaning? Brainchild ko, brainmother ni... Oga, the idea to construct a new bridge has always been there for decades. |
PresidObi:You guys talk as kids. Where did Obi's children school? Where are Obi's children today? Obi that couldn't conduct common LGA elections in the 8 years that he was governor. Abeg, make we hear word. Obi isn't any better. What are his outstanding accomplishments in Anambra? |
LegendHero:You made a great point. But I don't think Kwankwaso and Obi stepping down could stop Tinubu completely. In Kwankwaso's NW, don't forget that Buhari belongs there as well, plus 6 out the 7 NW governors are of the APC. They've got huge stakes to protect. Kwankwaso couldn't just beat all of these men. Same applies to Obi in the SE. Soludo, Umahi, Ikpeazu, Uzodinma, Ugwuanyi aren't working with him. They have their own stakes and interests in their parties, and can't fold their arms and allow Obi a field day. Buhari was once governor of the North Eastern State, today's NE region. He has a special bond with the region. Infact, the NE has been one of the two most loyal regions to him, electorally. On the contrary, I think that Kwankwaso would rather prefer to work with Tinubu than Atiku. But lets keep watching. |
Moblux:Oga, Tinubu couldn't have picked a Northern Christian as running mate. That would have be the political mistake of the century. You do not understand politics and Nigeria more than he does. Tinubu is more or less a 'Muslim-Christian'. He is a moderate with his faith, hence it is okay to pick Kashim Shettima. Do you know what it for a Muslim to have a wife who is a Christian and a pastor? How many men would permit that? Not everyone allows themselves to be drowned in religion. |
lytech1:That's the point, but what do we know? Obi's supporters think that it is not about the LP but him. Two state Guber elections preceding a presidential election yet they think it means nothing... Naturally, I would think that Obi will go there and mobilize voters for his party's candidate. |
Arkmanbuddy:Mtchewww. You never know where you dey. |
LegendHero:It is just his initials. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike. Abeg, leave that man wey no sabi himself. North don use am remain for Southwest. They are teaching him politics 101. He thinks Nigeria begins and ends in Obio / Akpor. |
LegendHero:It is just his initials. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike. Abeg, leave that man wey no sabi himself. North don use am remain for for Southwest. They are teaching him politics 101. He thinks Nigeria begins and ends in Obio / Akpor. |
Anyiamaka:Wike is not a bad loser. He is a fool. They keep using him. I wonder what kind of deal he can get out of the APC. Tambuwal used him and Rivers money in 2019 and dumped him in 2022. No one likes him but he doesn't know it. Atiku would rather loose the presidency than have Wike as his running mate. Isn't that serious? What would APC offer him than Amaechi can get? His medicine is to make him feel important. His colleagues know this, and they are exploiting it very well. He is the biggest mugu of Nigeria's politics. |
Kez11:Obi is not serious. What has bringing people to account got to do with focusing? There are agencies saddled with these responsibilities. As president, all you need is show will. Abeg, Obi should get out before he annoys me this early morning. How do we now set strong precedences of accountability if people can just steal entire generations of peoples wealth and go scot free? I keep saying it, this man is not smart enough. How did he come about this 'close shop...pursue criminal' nonsense? Government isn't a shop. Even if government is a shop, it is not one person that is there na. A few persons can pursue the criminal while others stay in the shop to attend to customers. What the thief (ives) might have stolen may be worth more than what is left in the store, or perhaps, substantial and required to keep the shop afloat. |
tinsel:And what Reno says about other people in the public space aren't their private lives abi? You don't know that even in public life, there is private life? You sure say you dey ok sef? |
Zonefree:Oga, stop being unnecessarily emotional. Every president needs that much security anywhere. If you get any plan...e no go work. Your opinion of him failing his own people holds no water. Infact, it is complete nonsense as he is not the LGA Chairman or state governor. He is Nigeria's president and deserves to have full compliment of his security details anywhere and everywhere. |
Zonefree:Every president needs heavy security everywhere. Someone like you, as president, go even tie juju join the super heavy security. So, abeg shift make we see front! |
Totilopussylick:Akuko! Why did you refer to 'politician' walking without a single security, and not the Chancellor. Is Buhari just any random politician? There is a politician I know, me and am dey trek together, dey even enter Keke together for Nigeria here. You guys should stop all these....in Germany...in Austria comparisons. |
OVB123:We can do much more than the government ever can. Community and religious leaders have huge responsibilities. What about parents? When your son, that is less than 20 years of age, cruises around in a Mercedes C300 or GLK, or gives you a huge sum of money to start up a business, or builds a lavish house and relocates you, or makes weighty donations at worship places etc; and all you do is gather your neighbours to join you in thanking G(g)od for blessing your son. What do you expect society to become? Every son or daughter comes from a family and community. We can't continue keeping quiet and protecting bloodlines, and also blaming the government. Government no be spirit, there is a limit to what they can do, especially if society keeps providing 'comfortable habitation' for these evils. Being broke no be crime. It is a stage of life that should inspire hardwork, dignity and diligence. The craze for wealth and lavish lifestyles is the bane of all that is going on. Prior to now, people would say it is due to unemployment. However, today even teenagers, that haven't completed junior secondary education or learned any trade or skill, want to live in lavish apartments and ride on GLK. Anybody still screaming government should have a rethink. Even government officials are not immune. We've got to get serious with parenting and the administering of our communities. Traditional rulers have become transactional bankers. They have become a disgrace to society. They can no longer instill fear, cultural discipline and lay curses on criminals and rebels anymore, because they are now cursed themselves, by their greed and death of conscience. In the good old days, it is parents and communities that fish out the bad eggs in their midsts, and hand them over to the authorities. Today, parents and communities shield their children and benefit from their ill-gotten wealth. The police, or military, or government authorities in general, can't know of any criminal son or daughter more than the family or community he or she comes from. What about the schools? What are their roles? I rest my case! |
Grandmeister:The sizes of the projects aren't the issue. The hole you are in is. You have to come out of your hole to see. Lagos-Ibadan Expressway; Lagos-Ibadan Railway; Warri-Itakpe Railway; 2nd Niger Bridge; Bonny-Bodo Bridge; Calabar-Itu Highway etc. Even without any significant project to show, Jonathan borrowed to pay salaries. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://pmnewsnigeria.com/2015/05/06/fg-borrows-n473bn-to-pay-salaries-okonjo-iweala/%3Famp%3D1&ved=2ahUKEwio74e_o-34AhVBXxoKHXknAYwQFnoECBIQAQ&usg=AOvVaw2tFSW_fIt66mPv7oKSfgTx I guess Buhari also presides over the UK and the US where commodity prices and inflation have hit over 4-decade high. |
Jmarjr:You are senseless! Are there separate constitutions in Nigeria designed for christians or muslims? Which law in Nigeria prohibits a joint ticket by two individuals of the same religion? We are talking about laws, not sentiments. That Nigerians are likely to be sensitive to such joint ticket is entirely a different issue. MKO Abiola and Babagana Kingibe won the 1993 elections despite being Muslims. Don't make it appear as something that has never happened before. It is not unconstitutional. |
Acidosis:That you are grossly ignorant about things or think so lowly of the North does not change or take away anything from them. To answer to your question: The ability of the North to activate strategic collaboration played out when Buhari and Tinubu, against all odds, sacrificed their differences, to work together in 2015, starting from 2013 / 2014 when APC was formed. They allowed a bridge to be built across their both sides of the divide. They overcame the mountainous blockade of religion, leading to Osinbajo's emergence. As for Obi and his ADC being from the North. That is nonsense. Buhari has christians and Southerners working closely with him, including as pilots in the presidential fleet as well as his official photographer. In Lagos state, we see people from other regions of the country being appointed as commissioners and serving as representatives in the National Assembly. The ADC story holds no water. |
Acidosis:You are obviously not very good at making balanced analysis, perhaps, this may be due to limited exposure. Even in the states that are supposedly educationally less privileged, there are individuals who are natural geniuses, that could outperform even the very best from the educationally advantageous states. I will give you an instance, I attended a unity secondary school where you have students from all over the Federation. However, it was a young lad from my school and class and from a state designated as educationally less privileged, that got the best WAEC result in the entire state, for that year. He was a Fulani boy. Just as they are olodos in states that are educationally privileged, there geniuses in states that are educationally less privileged. So, try and disabuse your mind. Go to Borno state for instance, and compare the quality of leaders at the LGAs to those of some states in the South. In Borno, you will find professors of outstanding standings as LGA bosses, and who are performing exceedingly. Unlike education, politics is a game of strategic collaboration and numbers. It is a give and take arrangement. You have got to offer something superior to get support, and of course, there are minimum educational requirements to be met. Educational achievements do not necessarily have to be superfluous, when it comes to politics and leadership. Experience, strength of character, bridge building capacity, finance and track records of performance play a huge role. So, please drop your irrational notions of certain 'regions being fools and primitive'. That's nonsense! There are educationally less privileged states all over the South too. |
Acidosis:WEAC/ JAMB cutoff shouldn't and can't be universal. Some states and individuals (including countries) are, by certain degrees, more educationally privileged than others, both in the North and in the South. So, your analogy doesn't fit. Look for something else. |
Grandmeister:And the Octogenarian has delivered several critical projects that your so-called youthgenarian, christian former president couldn't. |
