NaijaRoyalty:Oga, stop deceiving yourself. It is between Tinubu and Atiku. Even foreigners know this. |
Vulturereloaded:Only ignorant people support a candidate without any landmark achievement as Governor. Maybe, you should start by sharing Obi's landmark projects in Anambra.... |
jlinkd78:You certainly are very unsmart. Did Bashir Ahmad pay himself? What wrong did he commit after confirming that he had returned the funds? This is an integrated payment system. It could happen anywhere. It is only a foolish person that will casually provide evidence of returning the said salaries, after confirming that he had done so. Is he in a court of law? If the people asking for evidence are very sure he hadn't returned the money, they should take him to court. As for Obi becoming president, that is a dream that will not happen. Maybe, you should start by sharing Obi's landmark projects as Anambra governor. Just to help you a bit, Obi met an Anambra with a poverty index of 20%, the lowest in the country, and by 2010, under him, it worsened to 68%. Obi, as governor, unconstitutionally administered the 21 LGAs in Anambra through proxies, and never accounted for their funds. There was no LGA elections under him. Obi can go from Dunamis to RCCG to Methodist...e no go work. |
Viscuz:That is because you don't understand politics. Obi is just messing things up the more, with his visits to churches. This guy is vieing to be Nigeria's president, not president of CAN, for crying out loud... Which mosque has welcomed Atiku or Tinubu? |
smileyoo:You are welcome. No wahala, but you know looks can be deceiving. How we look or act, has a whole lot to do with our upbringing, and ofcourse, our environment. Obi's demeanour and day-to-day outlook isn't any different from Otedola's - trademark dark or white natives. Mark Zuckerberg is another of such person. But these guys have stuffs that fascinate them, and those are where they spend stupendously. They are just not into fashion and the rest. Peter Obi has spent so much time in the UK. He's as conservative as an average Briton. And he also has an irreducible make-up of the typical Anambra trader. Look at Obiano for instance, the general perception of him in Anambra, is that he is extravagant, in contrast to Obi's perception of being prudent; but Obiano delivered an International Airport, an International Convention Center, a City Stadium etc; whereas a prudent Obi's has nothing to show. Obiano has the US flamboyancy, and ofcourse, results. It is not enough to just be prudent. If you know a lot of Anambra people, especially the ones with trading backgrounds, you'd get what I mean. This doesn't mean that that they can't be heavy spenders on things that fascinate them. I would like you to also do a research around his ownership of apartments in Osborne towers, and the costs of the apartments. That said, we also know that prudence shouldn't be an excuse for poor performance in public office. People should be considered for higher public trust only based on records of their performances in previous assignments. That's what we call merit, isn't it? |
smileyoo:The APC is, by far, a better party than the PDP. Projects, policies and programmes say it all. Do not say that Wike 'will never' hand over to APC. He will, if the APC wins. His father doesn't own Rivers state. Rivers state is just a 'small' subset of Nigeria. Jonathan handed over Nigeria to Buhari, let alone Rivers. It is comments like yours that make people like Wike feel so important. Wike lost an election. That's simple. Atiku rejected him as his running mate. What is wrong with that? If Wike kept PDP going, was it with his personal funds? Is Wike the only person that lost the presidential primary? I can imagine how Secondus is feeling right now. Wike was used and fooled by the North to remove Secondus. They made him believe that to vie for presidency as a Southerner, he needs to remove Secondus, and a Northerner has to be party Chairman. What has happened now? Aren't the party's presidential candidate and national chairman both from the North? Lol! Wike was fooled. He thinks politics is about kaikai talks...we should wait and see how APC finally humiliates him. Dem don dey fool am with visits. Lol. He thinks Iyorchia Ayu is Uche Secondus that he can remove easily. E no sabi him mate! Ayu was Education Minister under Abacha between 1993 and 1998. He later became Minister of Environment; then Minister of Industry; and also Minister of Internal Affairs under Obasanjo between 2001 and 2005. Ayu had previously being president of the Senate between 1992 and 1993. These guys, Atiku, Ayu, Lamido etc, no be Wike mate o. Ayu na national politics man from day one. Despite Buhari's position as President. Despite that Oyetola is Tinubu's cousin - Tinubu's own state; Oyetola will hand over to PDP. On Wike supporting the Labour Party, that is up to him. This is a national election. There is not much one person can do. Importantly too, having Labour Party win the election does not guarantee a better Nigeria. Peter Obi has governed a state in Nigeria for 8 years. That is my state. Please, don't amuse yourself. He met the state's poverty index at 20%, the best in the country, and by 2010, it had worsened to a staggering 68%. Go and verify! He ran all the 21 LGAs using cronies 'cos he refused to conduct elections. He never accounted for LGA funds in 8 years. He has no landmark projects, if you know what I mean... For instance, Obiano can boast of the Anambra International Passenger & Cargo Airport, the first of its kind in the state since Anambra was created in 1991; The International Convention Center, Awka; The Awka City Stadium etc. Go and verify! You may also use your phone if aren't able to go verify in person. Share Obi's landmark projects in Anambra state. |
IfnobeGod20:I don't get you. Build nothing out of something? Do you mean we should build Nigeria out of the US? There you go again with the 'children of Israelites and asking God for a leader'..... God will not come down to hand out a leader to any society. We all know what is good... infrastructures, healthcare institutions, industries, bridges, roads, security, schools, sanitation etc. We do not have to follow the US. What works for them may likely not work for us. You don't see Chinese or Indians or even Brazilians wanting to be like the US. They have their issues. Gun violence, for instance, has proved insurmountable for the US government. How was the process that brought in Trump as president? It is a human society. We don't have to be them to become better. |
Olaoluwa122:That is the problem. Oga, we do not need to catch up with America or anyone. All nations have their issues. We just have to do what works for us. Fight corruption objectively; constantly fix and expand our infrastructures; get as much people as possible productively engaged through revitalization, reorganization and reformation of key sectors such as agriculture, transport, textile, mining, steel etc. Importantly, we need to make governance 'unusually' unattractive to attract genuine leaders at all levels - not touts and career liars. As for what Rufai Oseni said, that makes no sense at all. One can be healthy today and become terminally ill within a short time or even die the next day. If people can fake educational certificates, what is health fitness certification? Those aren't real issues. |
OnyeAshuaUru:Forget it! Peter Obi won't be President. No one will allow that. Not with Biafra, IPOB threats.... For Obi to be President, he needs the Yoruba or Hausa / Fulani buy in. And that can never happen. Mind you, I am from Anambra state. You can't 'war' against the two other major ethnic nationalities and think you can win the presidency. |
mariahAngel:I said it a long time ago... A Fashola / Marwa ticket would do Nigeria the greatest good in the circumstance. Marwa is known to be very innovative, result-oriented and dogged in leadership. With him as VP to an articulate, hardworking and restless Babatunde Fashola, Nigeria would emerge in few years. I am really not so passionate about 2023, as we have the worst array of candidates in our political history. Imagine Peter Obi, Bola Tinubu and Abubakar Atiku, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso wanting to be president.... Peter Obi is the least prepared of them all, and will make the worst president ever. Forget the rhetorics, the man knows next to nothing about governance. Poverty index grew from 20%, which was the lowest in the country in 2004, to 68% in 2010 while he was governor of Anambra state. That was over 200% increase. Even Tinubu with his domineering tendencies wouldn't refuse to conduct LGA elections in Lagos state or keep Lagos money in his bank. How can someone govern one of Nigeria's smallest states and can't point to any landmark project after 8 years, besides payment of salaries and pensions? Obiano would tell you he built Anambra's first and only International Airport ( a dual utility facility for both passengers and cargo) since creation of the state in 1991. He build an International Convention Center in Awka and also the Awka City Stadium. What are Obi's landmark projects? That is the issue. As for Atiku and Tinubu, the source of their stupendous wealth is a great concern. Kwankwaso, in reality, is the best of all the four prominent candidates, but does not have the spread... just like Buhari between 2003 and 2015. |
colorsofrainbow:Akuko! Spend millions and billions for him say who him be? |
donaldking100:Obi isn't bigger than Kwankwaso. Stop talking nonsense. Don't confuse social media noise for popularity. The Atiku that Obi was running mate in 2019, whom Obi still sees as his boss, was beaten by Kwankwaso in the 2014 presidential primary. Apart from being Governor before, Kwankwaso had been Defence Minister and a Senator. Obi that woefully lost elections trying to install Oseloka Obaze and Val Ozigbo in Anambra? He couldn't even win his LGA, Anaocha, for the PDP. Oga, I am from Anambra state. Stop hyping Obi unnecessarily. We sabi am pass una. |
Modphase:Lol. This one no well o. What has this got to do with Igbos? Wike is making a fool of himself before the country. The North will teach him the lesson of his life. |
tony0806:Wike is wasting his energy being angry. There is not much he can do. This is national politics, and it is way beyond him. We said it before the primary, but no one cared to listen. Atiku is too big for Wike. Even in Rivers state, Wike's state, Atiku is bigger than him with his Intels Services. It may not be the right thing, but does it not surprise Wike and everyone that Atiku can leave the PDP and come back at any time, and still get the party's ticket? Now, most of Wike's henchmen, the Oparas, the Omehias etc, are now meeting with Atiku. Dele Momodu is right. It is time for him to relax and take care of himself, and finish well as Governor. |
Massiveglory:If Buhari could win, Tinubu too can. They may not win any state in the SE but they would be able to gather substantial votes for Tinubu in the SE. It is about spoiling things for Obi in his stronghold of the SE. Osinbajo doesn't stand a chance against Tinubu in any part of the country. Do not be deceived. In politics, it is not about being erudite or being hailed in the media. Politics thrives in controversy. Underestimate Tinubu at your peril! |
Nwodosis:Bitter and senseless loser! Like I wrote in response to a post hailing Wike yesterday, Atiku may not win the presidency, but he could rest on his great relationship and history with Tinubu to keep his investment stakes in Nigeria. Wike might think that he is dealing with Atiku, however he is only digging his own political grave. Everything go clear wen e eventually leave office. Besides, some of his very close associates in Rivers are now working for Atiku. Wike might just be embarrassed in 2023. |
Nwodosis:Bitter loser indeed...and senseless too. No political party will 'provide' the environment PDP availed him. I am happy though 'cos this actually is the beginning of his end. |
chatinent:There is no such thing as 'the foolishness of the south'. The North massively supported the Jonathan presidency, with electoral wins in Plateau, Taraba, Adamawa, Kogi etc, in 2011. Would you also call that 'the foolishness of the North'? That is nonsense! Candidates sell themselves and the electorate vote who they prefer, either dispassionately or based on sentiments or pecuniary benefits. Did Azikiwe, Ironsi, Obasanjo, Shonekan, Jonathan not preside over Nigeria, over a 24 / 25 year period? Could that have been possible with the support of the North? Same applies to Northern beneficiaries: Balewa, Muhammed, Shagari, Buhari, Babangida, Abacha and Yar'dua. They received the support of the South to emerge. |
Edge247:You guys keep making intangible analysis. Wike didn't cast all the votes in Rivers. Rivers people did. Haven't we seen sitting governors not performing in elections in their states? Wike's camp is now hugely disintegrated, especially due to his choice of a successor, and ofcourse, his overbearing attitude. Members of Wike's inner circle in Rivers are meeting with Atiku. Wike can't do it alone. You have to also know that Wike is leaving office, and so many of his allies would be realigning to remain relevant beyond 2023. Betrayals are usually unprecedented in this season. Recall what his man, Tambuwal, did to him in front of the world. So as Wike is working, these other people are working too. Don't forget they are in PDP as well. Rivers people would not just dump the PDP because Wike says so. Let the Amaechi story refresh you. Wike is playing God and fooling around without strategy. We saw that glaringly in how he contested and lost the primary. He doesn't have the right to compel Atiku to use him as VP candidate. If anyone told him he wouldn't win the primary would he have listened? Was he not going about bragging about how he can never step down or be running mate to anybody? My guy, Atiku na political old war horse o. E no be Wike mate. He'd rather loose the election that be humiliated by Wike. Atiku could even explore a worst-case-option of collapsing the PDP by striking a deal with Asiwaju to keep his business empire running. Atiku's businesses are what matter to him the most. How? You may ask. Why has Atiku left Wike to carry the PDP all this years without concern? Does Wike have more financial resources than Atiku? Do not forget that Atiku and Tinubu have been associates for decades. I tell you the truth, Wike is going nowhere with these shenanigans. APC will destroy him. |
Sermwell:Tinubu beg Wike? Where you come from sef? Wike that is looking for soft landing for himself... APC just wan use am. If he thinks that the APC genuinely need him, then he is the most foolish man on earth. He claims to have done everything for PDP, how much does the PDP care about him? |
Cypress042:Make ignorance nor kill una sha... Shey na Buhari dey rule US, UK, France, Spain, Sri Lanka, Argentina and rest, wey dey go through the worst economic challenges of their past 30 - 40 years? Una fit follow global economic development with una dull brains? Abeg, carry on with the Big Brother wey your brain fit carry. By nearly all ramifications, Buhari is the best president Nigeria has had. I can defend this anywhere with facts. |
colorsofrainbow:Lol. Your memory obviously fails you. Go and verify, Buhari got 'significantly' more votes in the SE in 2019 than in 2015, despite Obi being the VP candidate of the PDP. Obi can't get 50% of total votes in the SE....mark my words. The only other region where he can manage, maybe, a 30 - 40% is the SS. On the rest other 4 regions, I don't see him doing more than 10 - 15% on each. |
nairavsdollars:Abeg, carry your yeye talk, shift... Who be Wike? It is even Wike that is trying to hold the party to ransom. Did he win the PDP primary? Who is he to dictate to Atiku who is running mate should be? Or does he think people have forgotten when he was blabbing that he couldn't be running mate or step down for anybody before the primaries? Would Wike let anyone dictate to him had he won the primary? I like Atiku's stance, it is better he looses 2023 honorably than let a small, arrogant Wike humiliate him, after all Wike and Rivers state can't guarantee him a win. Besides, Wike's grand plan is to create a soft landing for himself with the next APC government after leaving office... nothing else. |
colorsofrainbow:Oga, Peter Obi can't be president. Dem no dey win presidency from just Southsouth and Southeast. |
kozmokaz:One of the enemies of Nigeria spotted. If the news was the other way round, you'd have been basking in joy. |
splendournoni:Oga, make una tell Obi to stop forming being on top of all statistics about Nigeria. One must not reel out stats all the time. He could make smart descriptions and analysis of the situation, without having to loose credibility by putting out wrong stats. Wallahi, I no longer take him seriously, not with all of these stats blunders. |
matrix199:Kaikai talk! |
Authority1o1:Wike should go and sit down with his crass ego. Na person send am to spend all Rivers money for PDP ticket pursuit? Wike is the most hated person in PDP....he is only still being deceived by a few people who benefit from him. Atiku is not obliged to picking him as running mate. He contested the primary and lost, so he should go and rest. Was it with his personal money that he kept PDP afloat after PDP's 2015 elections loss? |
IboHausaYoruba:UBA... Very useless bank... |
sexyking1:Na today... Elumelu handed over to immediate past Group CEO, Kennedy Uzoka. This Oliver guys na yeye person sha. Na just Elumelu boys. Dem no get say. Na just figure heads dem be. |
