Properties › Re: Landlord Shoots Tenant Over Rent In Lagos by cooooooks(m): 4:38pm On Feb 10, 2021
You don't pay rent after 3 days and your landlord will disturb you.

You don't pay for 1 week and your landlord will start to show your apartment to potential tenants.

aremuforlife:
I am not in support of the landlord for shooting at his tenant, but from the testimony of the tenant, he is a trouble maker who is not ready to his landlord. An okada park chairman in sango, "owo ojumo", the landlord has invested his money and he need money for his own needs. You can't try that in abroad 1year and more.

I know some architects/companies will do it for you. Did not know the bank did it too.

Could you point me to where I could inquire?

Draslo:
The idea of sending money home to family for projects such as building or buying a house is archaic. The bank will do the same for you without premium tears.

Politics › Re: Amaechi: Kano-Maradi Rail Contractor To Build University In Rivers by cooooooks(m): 3:42pm On Feb 09, 2021
A Lagos-Calabar rail line is not for Lagos and Calabar alone lol.

Such a line starts from Lagos and ends at Calabar.

It passes many towns in between including Port Harcourt, Benin, Aba, Warri, Abeokuta, etc.

Yebedervru:
Illiterate. Lagos kano is more important than Lagos calabar because
Kano imports more cargoes than calabar and kano is industrialized state, calabar is not
Kano can bring agricultural produce to Lagos something calabar can’t boast of
There’s no oil in calabar
Kano is more populated than calabar
Politics › Re: Amaechi: Kano-Maradi Rail Contractor To Build University In Rivers by cooooooks(m): 6:45am On Feb 09, 2021
A Lagos-Calabar rail line is by far more useful tbh. Not just for people but for oil, agric produce, containers, etc.

The problem, like with power, is that Rail transport is legally the responsibility of the FG. I don't think regional governments can do anything about rail lines, unless as a contractor.

Like I said @ chii59, a lot of the thinking people attribute to men (The Z lady is also among them) is shared by women too. It is perpetuated by the culture.

You need to always ask 'WHY' when someone is offering something out of the norm.

There is no free lunch in freetown.

Believing there is free lunch somewhere or over valuing yourself is why people fall for scams in relationships, business, education, finances etc.

Celebrities › Re: Toyin Abraham To Ruggedman: Stop Attributing Women's Success To Sexual Prowess by cooooooks(m): 5:33pm On Feb 08, 2021
In the real Nigerian life, many families are dependent on two incomes with the wives earning as much or more.

In the businesses I was part of in Nigeria, I saw this first hand. One of them, a school, in maybe 30% of the families, the women earned more than the men.

This cuts across all class levels.

Even in my extended family, the women have out earned the men at different times. Sometimes, even if the men got the jobs for the women.

In my church, the same thing is there.

Let's not even start talking about the families without father's. Whether from abandonment or death (most common). This debate is more online than real life.

I remember a friend who used to give her boyfriend her card to pay fortjings when they went outside. It's not as if he wanted that, it was her who kept insisting. Why? Many other women will openly look/talk down to you if you are paying instead of the man. They will say you 'settled' or you 'used' the man.

These problems are not furthered by just men. Many many women are involved in this too. It is a mindset problem.

Chii59:
Exactly. I have read too many stories on fb, twitter and even here on Nairaland and also seen a couple of incidents that prove that the bolded is 100% correct.

Government and the security agencies pay ransom.

If you are kidnapped, the first advice given is to pay the ransom quickly.

The man clearly has ties to the bandits but so do most of the politicians in those areas. It is impossible to do anything in those areas without the tacit or outright collaboration of the bandits.

Reminds me of a story I heard of a school that fires almost all the staff every year. Tell me how the school will improve?

What do the statements of Warren Buffett & co have to do with CBN re-banning crypto?

Is Warren Buffett or are the central bank governors of all those other countries our CBN governor?

As for Canada, he lied. There are no restrictions on coin trading. You can buy BTC and ETH on investment apps.

Just another confused policy that someone thought of in their dream.

Flee from that man. I hope you recover soon. Stay strong.

Girl9999:
I created this account to hide my identity. I'm in a very emotional condition at the moment. I've been crying since morning. I've not left my house, not even for church. I've lost the will to live, all because of what happened yesterday evening.

I've been dating this guy for two months. I thought he was a great guy. He was always nice to me, smart and hard-working. I lost my virginity at the age of 18 in University and it was to someone that just wanted to have sex with me. He lied about loving me. All he wanted was sex and when he had his way he abandoned me and dated another girl in my department. Since then I've had a fear of relationships, most importantly of sex. I vowed to only have sex with someone I was going to marry; someone I was certain loved me.

When I met my boyfriend, I thought he was the one. We vibed well and we were both in the same field of work. Everything seemed to click. I opened up to him about my experience and my decision to have sex only when I was ready. He agreed and said he was going to respect my wishes.

Yesterday he visited me at my apartment. This wasn't the first time he was visiting me. We paid each other visits all the time. This time he brought a bottle of wine with him. I prepared food, we both eat and he served us some wine. The last thing I remember is taking few sips and then everything else is blurry.

Next thing I am waking up by 8am this morning with a severe headache, cramped legs and a sore feeling around my vagina. There was something that looked like dried semen on my left thigh and some around my breast. I could also perceive the scent of his perfume on my body. He raped me. The man that claimed to love me raped me. I haven't spoken to anyone since morning, all I've been doing is crying. My phone has been on silent all day.

I want to report him to the police but first I want to look at his face and ask why he would do this to me. I already planned on having sex with him soon. Why couldn't he wait? I want to involve my parents and his parents as well but I don't want this news to spread and take a hit on my reputation. I'm confused about what to do.

Why are men like this? I feel defiled and violated. My mind has been constantly flooded with suicidal thoughts all day. If I make it through this, I'm done with relationships forever.

There are 200 million people in Nigeria. Maybe 60 unique smartphone users. Even if 1% of those people are on Grindr, that will be 600,000 people.

That is why Nigeria is number one in any population statistics.

She followed a NFA man, started doing abortions for him and just never stopped??

I know that even as early as Primary 4, the Nigerian education curriculum teaches about the dangers of childhood pregnancy and abortions.

We have an epidemic of non-marriage children, drugs, under-education, hopelessness, etc. This country frightens me.

The one I know is O3 Capital.

https://www.o3cards.com/fund-manager/

I know someone that used to (probably still does) work there. Apparently, the investments are the capital with which the credit cards and short term loans are given. From the website, they must have reduced the interest by about 50% less than it was 3 years ago.

There are some credit card companies that offer I think 10 - 20 % interest per annum on Fixed Deposits.
