In #ISIS Wilayat Gharb Afrīqīyyah latest footage, posthumous hommage was paid to #ISIS #Military commandant Abu Fatima al-Lagossi who was matyred in one of the various battle against khawarij factional #BokoHaram sect led by Sheik Abubakar Shekau .
This right here is glorifying terrosists. Taking it down is advisable. They are no martyrs but wicked murderers. They need no form of publicity.

You can also look Somalia-Ethiopia and Ethio-Eritrea wars. Those wars were either won by Ethiopia or were a stalemate.

Nigeria might be better in economic than Ethiopia but you can’t say it has displaced Ethiopia as geo-political power in Africa. Ethiopia still contribute the largest and efficient peacekeeping in Africa and home of African Union and other continental and international organizations.

The Ethiopian soldiers who went to Korea war to help South Korea were the most efficient and impressive soldiers during the war. Even their enemy Chinese admired them. Nowadays Ethiopia might be at mess but improvements are also been seen and hope it continues.
Yea I know all that, I know all that and if we go into the factors at play in those wars and outcomes we will be at crossroads. The point is none of those wars it won or didn't win militarily changed the status-quo-ante in it's backyard in recent years. That's the point here. Telling me what happened 100 or anything over 50 years ago has no relevance to the current day geo-political realities. Nigerian elements also fought in WW11 with sterling records in Burma. And Nigeria set the bar when it comes to peacekeeping in Africa. Today Ethiopia's political-social-economic-defense system is a reflection of Meles Zenawi's legacy. That's the modern Ethiopia.

The established facts today are that Ethiopia is not one of the regional powers in Africa which are Nigeria, Egypt and South Africa. Largest contributor to UN funded operations changes hands from time to time depending on the political interests of the actors in the areas of conflict. Even tiny Rwanda has commanded a major UN mission. Nations are not categorized regional powers or global powers based on troop contribution to UN missions. If so Bangladesh will be considered one. Ethiopia is about the most poorest state in the world along with Eritrea and does not meet the criteria needed for qualification as a regional power. A regional power is a state that by reason of it's unrivaled economic and military might determines the political, social, economic, security and even cultural balance of it's sphere of influence unchallenged.

Since it's appearance in 1960 Nigeria has been called the giant of Africa. It has since displaced Ethiopia which was only then East-Africa's regional power. Today Kenya has taken on that role and not Ethiopia. And to make it clear to you even State Governors in Nigeria control budgets not foreign funded that is larger than those of many African countries. The facts are out there. Let's move on.

Modern Ethiopia began in 1855 so except for the Ottoman case other 2 war I listed happened afterward.

I know the difference between war and battle, and it was why I said war before. During Egypt-Ethiopia war (1870s), there were 2 major battles. During 1st Italo-Ethiopia war (1890s), there were 3 major battles. Ethiopia won those 2 wars.

Yes I failed to talk about 2nd Italo-Ethiopia war because the comment purpose is just to tell you that Ethiopia had won wars in the past.
The advent of a modern Ethiopia in 1855 is subjective. The last two world wars happened in the 20th century. Point is the modern state Ethiopia of recent years has struggled with internal rebellions it hasn't contained or in which it endures a detente and no external comprehensive military victory without skirmishes that challenged the status quo until the recent peace deal with Eritrea at Ethiopia's initiative. This is so because Ethiopia knows it lacks the military or economic capacity to win the war being one of the poorest countries in the world that depends on foreign aid.

As you know powers rise and fall. It has been that way for thousands of years. The genesis of the argument is Ethiopia better in comparison to Nigeria in all sectors. Nigeria has displaced Ethiopia as a geo-political power in Africa. Ethiopia deserves it's due for reasons of it's rich history but today Ethiopia is a second rate power compared to Nigeria.

Is this really the caliber of Nigeria's intelligence services?
And even the most clueless of all also want to be heard. It is noteworthy the self acclaim of amateurism in matters of intelligence and the Military. But no no no soon we will hear Monkeys give birth to cats. Meanwhile most wants to glorify Nigeria´s problems without first looking inwards to see their own shortccomings. One Nation yet stands strong in the face of stones thrown by those living in glass houses. Ottoman-Ethiopia war, 16th century: Ethiopia won
Ethio-Egypte war, 19th century: Ethiopia totally humiliated Egypt
First Italo-Ethiopia, 19th century: Ethiopia won
Etc....
I´m speaking of modern Ethiopia. No it hasn´t won any war. I don´t mean battles but wars. I believe we both agree of what victory in a war means. Except you mean artificial victories where a power defines its victory not exactly reflected on the ground yet abandons ship. Also in the context I argued -- not the Abysinnian Empire -- you failed to add the defeat, annexation and occupation of Ethiopia in the second war with Italy. But again I mean the modern state of Ethiopia.

I didn't join in on that topic. Don't involve me there. One way or another all of you have points but I think you had better consult economic experts on that. I'm not one. I guess my forte is most glaring for the discerning to know. However my 1 kobo knowledge on economics based on my discipline is that it is an advantage for trade & economics and for times of exigencies say war. In rich economies where the population is dwindling women are even paid stipends to encourage child birth. Nigeria must do more to leverage on the advantages of a large population.

Yes we insult each other and things like that, but to say something like this about somebody who willingly volunteered to defend YOUR country is disgusting... To say "Clearly the enemy got to you" when there are soldiers laying their life on the line to defend your fvcking home against that same enemy!! That's even beneath you mate!!

Nobody said you have to agree with Bidexiii or you are not allowed to insult him or what ever, but what you've written above is crossing the line!!

But in all seriousness for those that have been on this and your thread for a couple of years, its pretty common knowledge you were in the military.
Yes I am in intelligence. Yes you don't know exactly what that means even though you think you do. And just because I am incognito doesn't mean I don't know most people here. You suddenly want to act "I Knew", you see that's the part of dishonor on this thread, instead of giving someone his due most including you resort to character assassination for selfish reasons. Point is own up, if I didn't tell you he was in the military you would never have known. It wasn't common knowledge. And you don't know him still other than "he's in the military". I know others here too just for a warning. What I don't do is tell you sources or methods. This should suffice, I hope.

You sit there and type shit ; Ethiopia did not win any war.

And please leave the uniform out of these, they are better informed than you do. With all the books you claim you have read, you are no difference to primary school student who hasn't read beyond its confines.
Lol! And which books are those of course u don't know. See who types poo! Whatever made u not to copy and paste this time to defend ur eldorado Ethiopia. Ah! U have run out of steam and as usual the easy way out is to insult the teacher. You might want to look up what it means to comprehensively win a war. While u're doing that ask for help from a primary six kid to understand the meaning of a stalemate, truce, armistice or cold peace and then surrender.

And finally to educate you again not that it's my pleasure it's pupils for primary school children and students for secondary school adolescents/teenagers both where it may apply. So now we know it's you who didn't read beyond those confines.
Foreign AffairsRe: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Covert1:

Dude you love arguing out of context.

Can't you read and digest simple English, kitting your soldiers with fancy gears does not make you win wars or battles.

Saudi Arabia is a very good example of been kitted and better equipped, yet there butts are been kicked in Yemen. They leave behind millions of dollars worth of hardwares & equipment behind and run for there dear lives grin grin

The NA is a very experience army and also doing well in the area of COIN, and as dealt well with many internal conflicts despite many shot comings. Am not arguing that and I never under rated the NA.

My Point was clear you can't compare the NA with EA, likewise the private/government owned defense industry. Those are my claims even till now.

Now talking about the Ethiopia and Eritrea conflict; I don't know where you got your source from; they are all false ! According to a ruling by an international commission in The Hague, Eritrea broke international law and triggered the war by invading Ethiopia. At the end of the war, Ethiopia held all of the disputed territory and had advanced into Eritrea kicking there button like we did to the Chadian.

Dude are you formulating lies to back up your claims, everyone is not a dummy like you are undecided

On the Alshabab conflicts;

If I was the president of Ethopia I would do the same , call me names or say anything. I wouldn't give a Bleep, what's in the fight for Ethopia when Alshabab is not occupying any territory in there land.

So the president withdraw all troops; do you know what resources and capital it takes to fight a war outside your border huh It's was bleeding Them dry.

The Ethiopian army where very instrumental in pushing alshabab out of some major towns in Somalia, when they started withdrawing over 4000 of there troops from those towns immediately Alshabab began taking over those towns again.

They recast there dice and they saw the war was never got to end. Simple as ABC.

Go check your facts Ethopia as a history of been Victor's in war, even against the white like wise Nigeria has its own.

Never you come here and spit rubbish of what you don't know.
Ok now I can't really help you. You are one of them that need rehabilitation. You are d.umb you can't even breathe your own delusions. You write rubbish and accuse your educator.

So you think u can brazenly turn history on it's head. The main reason it withdrew from Somalia apart from that it can't win is because it is the main agent provocateur and a rallying point for the Islamists who saw them as an occupation force owing to historical sensitivities.

Uganda, Burundi and later Kenyan forces did the dirty job of clearing the mess of the Ethiopians which later they came to claim credit for.

Ethiopia did not win any war save to fight the Italians into a war of attrition. I'm appalled at your education. That is why abroad they ask me how some of you get to wear the uniform.

You know nothing about Ethiopia save what you scramble to read now on the internet to come argue with me. You ain't even worthy of my retort. But to show ur st.upidity have u even asked to know how that country survives...this is a country that lives on budget aid and suffers bouts of famine and u think online massaging is what makes them great. Do you know Kenya is acknowledged as the regional power in their backyard. You know nothing. Now scurry back to the internet or provoke me more to put more eggs on your face.

Pointless claims.

Do you win war with "beautiful & fancy" kits. grin shocked

Those Ethiopia rag tag army are one of the best in Africa you know.
sad
Lol! Even more claims. Oh so now Nigeria is even ridiculed for kitting her soldiers better than Ethiopia'. If we don't you complain, we do you complain, haba! Nigerians! I can't help you Bidexiii! If you can compare a rag-tag army to that of Nigeria then you've lost it.

The Ethiopian army we know throws men into combat without the minimum of body armour etc. Feeding and morale is low and yet you come to rant weaponry they produce. A fit soldier is more likely to come out first from the bush than a hungry one—I'll leave it there.

This Ethiopia with all of Bidexiii's superlatives in modern times struggled with the nation state of Somalia, could not defeat Somalia's Islamic courts now Alshabaab, could not defeat repressive Eritrea, has not been able to contain all the numerous rebellions within it's own territory and has now all but capitulated with it's new Prime Minister who knows Ethiopia lacks the capacity to win these wars. Yet here is and am ashamed to say a Nigerian officer telling us they are one of the best because that perception persists from it's wars with fascist Italy. Oh gosh! Who can help him!

Meanwhile Nigeria with all it's corruption and evils he shouts for all to hear has contained it's internal rebellions and defeated most from Biafra to Adaka Boro's successors to Boko Haram to external conflicts in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Gambia and the list goes on and on. In all these situations Abuja's monopoly of violence has ensured the status quo exists on it's own terms. It even annexed the Bakassi peninsula for a time and left on it's terms. If that's not a real Power I don't know what is.

Again, even today Ethiopia is a second rate power compared to Nigeria. Period.

I don't know if it's over patriotic that is "worrying you" or is "common sense".
Henry is an intelligent man. He is civilised. He is not patronizing like most of you here especially you. He is bold in his original thought and questions what beggars belief. But he doesnt speak for me. We dont even agree on a lot of things but we see eye to eye in sensible reasoning. Not so you whose brain can be turned whither wheresoever for lack of original thinking. That you didnt bother to ask what books i might be recommending tells already the average intellectual your disposition to pride and lack of knowledge thereof which is evident for all to see. I recommend you start reading in earnest to cure you of ignorance and help you with some common sense. The onus is on you to respond to his assertions that Nigeria is significantly ahead of Ethiopia. At least they are in need of officers for the next war with Egypt grin And they have beautiful women grin Thats quite an incentive just you might end up poorer than in Nigeria where our Armed Forces are better remunerated and kitted.

This is exactly the shit that happens today. People like Lionel4power that see no good in their country go online to type shit and post only bad info about there country.

A stupid Nigerian too when online to open a thread on nairaland claiming Kenya was better than Nigeria in all aspects. They even argued to the extent that Kenyan entertainment industry was better than Nigeria entertainment industries. Kenyan banks are better than Nigerian banks even though Nigerian banks are buying Kenyan banks.

Another stupid fool when online claiming Rwanda was better than Nigeria because Volkswagen just open a new plant which is the first automobile assembly plant in the country. The fool didn't know Nigeria already have over 8 car assembly and manufacturing plant.

Now someone is claiming Nigeria have never been the largest economy in Africa and is still not the largest. Am not expecting anything more than support from people like lionel4power. I've never seen any post from him in support of this country even if they are false.

Today Sudan and Ethiopia have better industries than Nigeria

Tomorrow Kenya have better industries because they just built a drone.

When stupid information like this is what other see from Nigerians, who do you expect to say it a lie.

He just brought another claiming Nigerian is not among the list of innovative countries. Without asking for the metrics used to arrive at that conclusion he already believed but if I come out with counter claims he will start asking how? He forgot some people ignorantly wrote that the same way he does.
