The answer is no, Satan cannot read our minds. We learn in the Scripture that Satan is powerful and influential, but he isn't all knowing, neither is he omniscient. Only God has the ability to know all things. Furthermore, there are no examples in the Bible of Satan reading someone's mind. |

inurmind: But anyway what does loving God mean?To love God if you must know, is not an emotional feeling. Rather, to love God the way He desires us to love Him, means to totally give ourselves over to Him-to surrender, to relinquish and to abandon ourselves to Him, regardless of how we feel, what we think or what we desire. It means to set aside our life, so that His Life can come forth from our hearts. The passage below confirms this... 2 Corinthians 4:10-11, "Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we who live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh." I also believe many Christians confuse their natural "feeling love" with agapao, which is our "commitment love." And because most of us have great emotional feelings for God, we think we are loving Him as He desires when, in fact, we are not even close. God talks about this kind of relationship in the passage below... Isaiah 29:13, "This people draw near Me with their mouths, and with their lips do honour Me, but (they) have removed their heart far from me, and their fear (love) toward Me is taught by the precept of men." And... Ezekiel 33:31, "They come unto Thee... and they sit before Thee... and they hear Thy words, but they do not do them; for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goes after [other things]." So, to love God the way He desires is definitely not an emotional feeling. To love God literally means to lose self. When I say "losing self," I don't mean becoming some sort of a . "mindless" robot. I simply mean setting aside all our own thoughts, emotions, and desires that are contrary to God's (becoming a cleansed and open vessel) so that God's Life from our heart can come forth and fill our souls. A perfect Scripture that sums up what loving God means, is Matthew 16:24: "If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me." |
Hmmm...that wouldn't be such a bad idea you know... For starters, I would suggest we play a game, just the two of us...what say you? ![]() |
Cuddlemii: If u dont do movies, what else do u do aside from flings?Well...I read lots of christian books, I engage friends in educative discussions, (gisting by layman's english), I love travelling, and finally i love any thing that can be much fun ![]() |
Ihedinobi: How was He going to reconcile us evil people to the Just God?By the death of christ...but don't get me wrong, my argument was based on the topic "why did God have to die"? God didn't die, neither did he send christ to die. But christ sacrificial death, reconciled us to God. I hope you understand the angle I'm coming from? |
Do you have proof that he wasn't? You do know that you're indirectly claiming that some of missions were kept hidden from the Bible. Which leads to another question; what other materials is the Bible not telling us about this whole Christianity fiasco?
Stop answering my question with a question. Give me a yes or no... Do you have valid proofs that Jesus was very limited in his mission, and can you sustain a debate that those whom christ reached out to see themselves as superior. |
God sent his only begotten son to "save the world". A lot of Christian have this notion that Jesus "saved the world" by dying, given that Revelation 1:5 attest to the fact that your sins were washed away by the blood of Jesus Christ.
Do you quote bible passages simply because you want to prove a point, or do take your time to understand what it entails before posting is? What has Revelation 1:5 got to do with God dying for us?
Now, if I remembered clearly according to the Christian philosophy, God already knew what happened, what is happening and what will happen. He knew that Jesus will be prosecuted. He also knew that to save the world, blood will spill. Could that be why God was not too eager to send his son? (i.e Jesus chose to come and save humanity).
God sent his son for one reason, and that reason is Love. Love is why God made us in the beginning, why he blesses us, why he keeps us breathing, why he watches over us so much, why he is always there to pick us up when we fall, why he gives us guidance and strength, and why he wants us with him. We are his children. Now to your question...the bible made us understand that the world was sinful and doomed, therefore God sent Jesus to reconcile us back to him? Asking whether God knew that blood would be spill is like questioning God's creation of man. Man ended up in the garden of eden and fell to a deceit which was constructively planned by the devil. So would you ask that if God is all knowing, shouldn't he have known that the man was doomed right from the day he was placed on earth with the devil? Think about that... And take your time to understand why God allows certain things happen before staging an argument. However, if you decide to maintain you argument about this particular issue, then I would suggest you study your bible. And refrain from staging arguments that aren't biblical.
Please abeg clear this up for me. . . . why do Christians believe that Jesus/God/and the other guy are one in trinity? Jesus is God, Jesus is the son of God etc etc is really confusing o. When I made this topic, I followed the presumption that Jesus and god were one.
Jesus isn't God. And if you studied your bible as you should have, you wouldn't be asking this question. Cos I'm already beginning to perceive your seeming ignorance. For starters, read John 17 from verse 1... However, I would try to explain this much clearer since you desire knowledge of the scriptures... Jesus and the Father had an eternal relationship before Christ became a man. This relationship is depicted in the Gospels so we can see how the Son of God in His humanity carried out His Father's will, and in doing so, purchased redemption for His children (see John 6:38-40). Christ’s continual submission to His heavenly Father was empowered and kept focused through His prayer life. Christ’s example of prayer is ours to follow. Jesus Christ was no less God on earth when praying to His Father in heaven. He was depicting how even in sinless humanity it is necessary to have a vital prayer life in order to do His Father’s will. Jesus' praying to the Father was a demonstration of His relationship within the Trinity and an example for us that we must rely on God through prayer for the strength and wisdom we need. Since Christ, as the God-man, needed to have a vibrant prayer life, so should the follower of Christ today. I hope this makes much sense to you. |
Madawaki01: But all christians believe dat jesus is God,or u are denying dat now?Define the term all... Any christian who raises an argument on that subject is ignorant of the scriptures period! |
inurmind: Do youI'm not perfect, so I can't claim that I obey God's word 100%. I'm a christian if that's what you're asking...but I feel it would be very wrong for me to count myself among the saved. That should be left for God to decide. |
@Ileke-Idi. You're entitled to your opinions... But if you must know, christianity is about loving God and loving your Neighbour, Matthew 22:36-40. Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. If you keep sinning and bear in mind that God would forgive you, then see the passage below. Isaiah 1:15-17. When you spread out your hands in prayer, I hide my eyes from you; Even when you offer many prayers, I am not listening. Your hands are full of blood! 16 Wash and make yourselves clean. Take your evil deeds out of my sight; stop doing wrong. 17 Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow. Christians who go on sinning with the hope that God would keep forgiving them are like children who deliberately provoke their parents and expect forgiveness. Even a fool would know that life doesn't work that way. Hope I've answered your question. |
MacDaddy01:Logic boy...Certainly numbers do not have a tangible existence in the world. Rather they exist in our collective consciousness, and yet they are not arbitrary products of our imaginations in the way that fictional characters are. So permit me to say that numbers do have some sort of objective existence, even though not a tangible existence. |
@Topic. I wouldn't make any comment until I hear the husband's side of the story...if you can do us the favour of posting it, I believe it would be much easier to ascertain who is at fault. Idowuogbo: shyte!! u say? oyinbo na bring problem eee!!!Lmao... ![]() |
Do donkeys now seduce people? Cos I see no reason why a sane human being should feel sexua1ly aroused by the presence of an animal, and even go as far as committing the act. ![]() That man is insane. |
Why on earth should you tell your ex to send gift items to your present girlfriend? That was a very wrong move you made. You made the error yourself, so you must bear the consequences. I'm sure that with this incident you experienced, you won't make such a grave error next time. Good luck. |
anjyzplace:My dear...life isn't about being who everyone else wants you to be, its about being yourself and finding someone who loves every bit of it. Don't give into pressure simply because you want to please someone. If you choose to remain pure till marriage, stand by your word and look for someone who would respect your decision. Good luck. |

Nairalandi: U dated a girl for 3yrs and because u are not yet ready to settle down due to finance, she got married to another person.after two years u became financially ok to settle down and now you want to marry her younger sister.pls is this very adviseable.?What's the main motive behind your marriage to her younger sister? If you're getting married to her because you love her and feel you can spend your future with her, then I see nothing wrong with that. But if your reason is as a result of what her sister did to you in the past, then I would suggest that you allow sleeping dogs lie...act maturely and stay away from that family. Good luck |
Cuddlemii: Speaking of subjects, one of my best subject in the sec school was Literature-in-English.Cuddles dear, I'm really finding it very difficult to understand you. All am doing here or rather trying to do, is to establish a communication with you. We can't remain very formal here if we want to reduce the boredom in the house. You have to loosen up a bit and have some fun...its the internet so be it fling or flirt or whatever, provided its done to pass your leisure, then I believe its worth it. So refrain from being very spiritual and physical and all that. Let's just keep your thread lively. What say you? ![]() vescucci: Look on the bright side brah, at least you get to lose some weight cuz she be making brothers work, ya know! That's what I'm trying to make her do. At least if she can loosen up a bit, there would be much fun in the house...I think its high time we get rid of formal jargon, and stick to the immaturity and understandable jargons like you proposed. ![]() |
Cuddlemii: I dey try!ok... ![]() Cuddlemii: Yep, I will be fine.I pray so ![]() Cuddlemii: Lolz, have you seen the movie, Woo by Jada Pinkett Smith?nice tactic...you changed the subject. @Sexkillz This is a very nice topic, and I would be very glad to partake in the debates. Below are my suggestions.. 1. Is it OK to lie than break a relationship? 2. Can suspicion kill a relationship? 3. Do women have more affairs than men? 4. Should you tell your spouse about your ex? 5. Do gifts bind a relationship? 6. Is divorce better than bad marriage? 7. Can you marry a girl with tattoos? 8. Do looks matter in a relationship? 9. Should flirting on the Net be considered as cheating? 10. Can a man and woman be just friends? |
Ptolomeus: You do not speak the same language as the god muslim?I meant the bolded. |
@inurmind Permit me to add my contributions to this thread. First and foremost, Christianity is anchored in love—God's love for us and our response to that love. Although Jesus did not teach anything radically different from that of the Old Testament, He simplified the main points so that people could not escape into a pure exercise of religious ceremonies. Jesus said the entire law of God could be summarized into a mere two commands: Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." (Matthew 22:37-40) So, the fundamental principle that defines the Christian experience is love—love of God and love of our fellow human beings. So, a person who merely loves his fellow man is only fulfilling half of the law, and is neglecting what Jesus said was the most important part—loving God. Therefore permit me to say that christianity isn't a religion but a way by which we express our love to God, and our fellow man. |
Madawaki01: If Jesus wasWhat nonsense theory are you trying to prove here? True christians know that Jesus isn't God, and even Jesus himself acknowledged that he himself isn't God. Matthew 24:34-37. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. 35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. 36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. See this other passage... John 16:7-10 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. 8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 Of sin, because they believe not on me; 10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; And more... I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. If this post isn't ment for christians, then notify me, and I would modify it. But if its, then you're ignorant of the scriptures. |
Maybe you should ask the muslim god yourself...we don't speak the same language, so it would be very impossible for me to establish a communication. So accept my apologies, because I can't be of any help. |
MacDaddy01: There are no atheist positions on the beginning of the universe. Are you a retardeen or something? You are using a strawman atheist position.Permit me to use the skeptic theory to define your response. Mr Anony was right after all. An irrational skeptic will continue to deny even when he no longer has any reason to. His argument is usually in the form of: When X has been proven to not be absurd, his argument becomes... MacDaddy01: Eternal is an infinite. Infinity does not exist."I find X absurd therefore it is absurd." You didn't even bother to ask questions about the theory presented by uyi iredia, instead, you set your mind to deny it from the onset...irrational skepticism |

Cos I heard it makes people unsuccessful in life lol.
SO far, the only argument from you is that Jesus was not sent to die for us, yet Christianity praise his death as a sign of love for humanity.
My dear...I'm only replying your topic. You said why did God have to die for us...if you read my post well, you'll know that 1. I made clear that God didn't die 2. I also made it clear that God didn't send Jesus to die 3. I gave valid bible passages of Jesus true mission on earth.
Jesus knew that we all existed, yet he and his disciples traveled and only reach a specific few who see themselves superior to other race (including yours). The race "superior" race brought this religion and racism to your society. Think about it.
Can you defend this claim? Do you have valid proofs that Jesus was very limited in his mission, and can you sustain a debate that those whom christ reached out to see themselves as superior. If you can, then be my guest... I'm waiting... |
Cuddlemii: Did nothing!Wao...then maybe I was wrong about you being patriotic. Btw...are you based in Nigeria? |
frosbel: Now we wait for the adherents of this Satanic club to start shouting we are a religion of peace.I understand your anger Frosbel. God just has to intervene in the Nigerian situation, because Its very obvious that the authorities can no longer handle members of the so called club. Therefore, I would enjoin you to keep praying for our beloved country. |
