You sound like a patriotic Nigerian often. So tell me...how did you celebrate your independence? |
@all hope you guys are having a great independence celebration ![]() |
CHESSBOARD: Stingy Yoruba man, see the kind of food he gave Orji Uzor Kalu, Bread and stewMen you're very funny ![]() Bread and stew indeed. ![]() |
Psylas: Let's put d blame on GEJVery soon you guys would kill this man just as you killed Yar'adua |
Like I said earlier my brother IF THERE WAS ANY JUSTICE IN THE WORLD, ORJI UZOR KALU WOULD HAVE SUFFERED A SERIOUS AILMENT AND DIED A MISERABLE DEATH THAT WOULD REQUIRE A CLOSED CASKET FUNERAL. On the list of the criminal governors from Obasanjos administration, he is on the top 5 ranking with Odili, Ibori, Alamesiagha and Tinubu.
True but question who in Nigeria can be disciplined enough to punish corrupt leaders? Is it the corrupt president or his vice? Or would ask a corrupt governor to punish his deputy for corruption? I was reading a magazine last week, and I came across a particular article where the writer wrote that Nigeria is 200 years behind Briton. If you take your time to look at the present state of the economy, you'll agree with him. Look at our universities, see the way they hike school fees? In a Nation, if the main reason why people can't go to school is because they can't afford the fees, believe me, that nation is dead. Look at our customs, their wickedness is being experienced by Nigerians on a daily basics. Or is the police?...I believe they're doing their best, but can we really trust them when it comes to justice? Who can we trust to bring our corrupt leaders to justice? That's the big question my dear brother... |
What's there to celebrate? Yesterday, (October 1st) there wasn't power in my area until around 7pm. ![]() @op I love your patriotic spirit...but for me, I won't never celebrate Nigeria until the government gives me a reason to celebrate. |
seriallink: Infact his agents are all over NairalandSeconded. |
For eight years, Abia state lingered in darkness, Abia state had no good road network, Abia state indigins were exposed to the cruelest kind of robbery, hardship, they were neglected by he (Kalu). Its a pity that he's being celebrated after all the atrocities he committed. Its very obvious that it pays to be a criminal, to be corrupt, to be dishonest and to be wicked in Nigeria. Several leaders in the past followed that path, and today, they're being celebrated. Most of them have even received national honours and awards. My now give me one good reason why our youths shouldn't resort to crime? ![]() |
I won't because such a protest would yield no result. Let's face the truth, Nigeria needs more committed leaders than what we have at present. At 1960 when we got independence, we had an effective road system, we had the Nigerian airways, we had an effective rail system etc. Today where are they? As at the time the Naira was introduced, Nigerians could boast proudly of its value. Now with a thousand naira, you can't prepare a standard soup. Also, Why are we no longer exporting cotton, what happened to our rubber, cotton, bitumen, cocoa etc. I believe that for the government to solve the problem of unemployment in the country, they have to sit up. We don't need to protest before they (the government) realize that they have to include job creation in their manifesto. |
*Thinking aloud* If our leaders can adopt this strategy, it would be better for us. |
Indeed, Nigeria needs prayers. I believe God answers prayers, and I believe he loves this country, therefore I would continue to intercede for Nigeria. |
Jarus: I found. Could have married a Nairalander. That was 2010.Could... What happened? |
Its no news. Nigerian girls are the strangest creatures on earth...if your story is true, then tell your friend to accept his faith and move on. I know such an incident can drive a man crazy or make him miserable. Considering the magnitude of investment he put into that relationship. He should know that life is one bumpy road, and in order to survive, you must expect the worst. Tell him to take heart...its well. |
Nope I haven't ![]() |
@cuddles, are you in the house...its been a while ![]() |
Ihedinobi: I do not know if anyone has discussed on this matter with you before. I'm assuming that you are a brother caught in a difficulty, not one hardened in unbelief. In fact, your words both encourage me and cause me to fear for you. Nevertheless, I will carry on to explain this crucial matter to you and entrust you to the Lord that your eyes may be opened.Thank you sir for your contribution. ...I've gone through the passage you gave... In the first chapter (John 12:27) Now my soul is troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour. This was the hour he was referring to... Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. 1 Timothy 1:15, "This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief." Jesus Christ came into the world to call sinners to repentance. Mark 2:17, "When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." Jesus Christ came into the world to seek and save the lost. Luke 19:10, "For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost." Jesus Christ came into the world to be a King and bear witness to the truth. John 18:37, "Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice." Jesus Christ came into the world to do the Will of His Father. John 6:38, "For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. Jesus Christ came into the world to be a Light in the world. John 12:46, "I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness." Jesus Christ came into the world that men might have the Abundant Life. John 10:10, "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." I can go on and on... His mission on earth was not to die. He clearly stated it in those passages, that he came to save the world, to draw the world closer to himself. Now to your next passage (Hebrews 2:9) But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. If you take a look at (Paul's) this letter, you would notice that christ had already died and risen before that letter was written. Paul's letter to the hebrews was his own opinion about christ's mission on earth. The letter was written based on christ lifestyle here on earth, therefore it has nothing to do with why he was on earth because he had already left the earth when the letter was written. The final passage (Revelation 5:9) And the sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy too take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou was slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tounge, and people, and nation; This passage, was a revelation given to John the beloved. And like the letter of paul unto the hebrews, christ had already died and resurrected. And note...the passage was a revelation, it had nothing to do with christ's mission on earth. Its very understandable that christ ought to be celebrated by his father (God) in heaven; considering the way he defeated death...I feel that's the reason that vision was given to John. I would conclude with this as a food for thought for you sir... Before Jesus died, the blood of animal sacrifices were required to cleanse your sins, the animal was basically a scapegoat taking your place for your sins. In Exodus 20:13, he made it clear to us, THOU SHALL NOT KILL. And by that term, I believe he was referring to humans. But he gave us the right to murder animals as payment to him, to pay him for your sins. Now, according to Christianity you have to ask God for forgiveness for sins in order to be forgiven. 2 chronicles 7:14. If my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sins, and I will heal their land. So now, from this passage, do you think God would contradict his own word? How does bloodshed help anything? Wouldn't it make more sense if rather than sending his only son to die, God accepted people's sincere apologies for their sins like stated in that passage? I believe God doesn't lie, and I believe he loves us that's why he sent Jesus to fulfill that passage, by drawing all men to himself. I shall finish with this...Jesus mission on earth wasn't to die but to reconcile us to God. Have a nice day sir. |
I believe the book of Job was just about God proving the dedicated, honest, truthful and obedient lifestyle of his son (Job) to Satan...God made it clear to we christians in that passage, that if we must serve him, our faith must be strong even till death. Most believers in the new testament experienced similar or worse trials than Job. Stephen was stoned to death...but even at the point of death, his faith was as strong as ever...this even made him pray for his murderers. Peter was crucified...peter didn't consider himself worthy to be crucified like our lord (Jesus) so he requested that he should be crucified upside down, and just like Job, his faith was strong. Paul was beheaded...one of the most inspirational disciples. He loved God and made clear that even at death he knew a better life awaits him...thus his statement I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith I feel the message about the Job issue is that we christians should love God...and even at the point of death and trials, we must hold on to our faith. |
*Sighs* |
Alright take care... |
Cuddles say something na...you've been sitting there for hours now...I'm still seeing you. Hope you aren't bored? Alright...lets hope that this week would be much fun as you hoped... Ok...I guess you don't feel like sharing. |
You're missing a lot...anyways I'm not surprised...ladies aren't really the football type. So what's your taste...if you're not a football fan, there's definately something you spend your time on. |
Yea...I myself I'm a man u fan. ![]() Just finished watching our game with New castle...tough game though. But we came out victorious. What's your favourite club? |
Well...if its ok with you, we could hang out a bit. Are you a football fan? |
That's good...thanks |
This explains a lot. No wonder they drive as though an ancestral deity is after them. The state government should keep on testing...I'm sure that they're still more mad men on the loose. Members of the Lagos state house of Assembly should also be tested. LASTMA officials too should be tested. KAI and NURWT or whatever their name is must be part of the test. But whatever decision they come up with...to do with them after the tests, they must not and I repeat they must not deport them to Anambra state. ![]() |
Cuddlemii...why is it difficult to view PMs. I keep getting them, but when I click the link here on NL, I find it very difficult accessing the messages? What possibly could be the problem? |
afosam4real: Some misguided Nigerians have shown Mr President no mercy with all sort of criticisms. He needs everybody's support as he cannot do it alone. Many of us need attitudinal changes so that Nigeria can be develop with our collective efforts. Let's stop playing the politics of acrimony and focus on developmental issues. So you feel Nigeria can develop with the way he (Jonathan) and his caucus have lavished our funds. My dear wake up...we're being robbed daily by this so called politicians. And we're tired if their camouflaged speeches. Truth is Jonathan has failed Nigerians...how would you classify someone who spends N857m on food monthly, whereas most Nigerians can't even afford 3 square meals. He spends N947 million on amoured cars...everyday, Nigerians are being hunted and killed by kidnappers, police, armed robbers, cults etc.. He spends N2 billion for renovation of his personal office, whereas our education system is a mockery to the nation. He spends N900m on official trips and visits, whereas our roads are death traps...they're being hunted daily by armed bandits. Hundreds and thousands of Nigerians have falling victims to robbery, accidents raape, most have even lost their lives in the process. And you're telling me he's trying...use your brain to think...how many past Nigerian leaders lived in this kind of luxury? |
Papa Jona should permit us a moment's peace. He many use that gibberish he uttered to gain the favour of the UN...but over here in Nigeria, we know the truth. We know that the house of reps has showed no mercy on Nigeria's strained wallet as it demands an extra N7million to its quarterly allowance of N28million. We know that boko haram has sucked the blood of countless innocent Nigerians. We know that our roads have still not been done. We know that Nigeria's education is at its worst level since independence. Not to mention the poor health facilities that are available in the country prompting the politicians and their families to seek medical attention abroad. We also know about the governments 1.6tn for generators. So he (Jonathan) should know that he can't fool we Nigerians with his speech. |
