Fayose is the one sharing rice and oil, the same man is giving out cheques; this is clearly not governance.
A governor is a long term strategist not a clerical officer. #nuff said My thoughts exactly. I mean, this is a good gesture, yes, but does he have to do it himself? Why not delegate? Well, it's good that those whose structures are being demolished are compensated. |

You dey for poverty dey wail like wailing wailers Sadly, this is the mentality that has prevented a lot of Nigerian footballers (and people in other fields of life) from achieving greatness. Once they begin to earn dollars be it in India, Russia, Malta, China, Ukraine or even England, or Spain, the next thing you'll hear is "he has hammered". Yes, agreed, but what about being the best, or one of the best among his peers. Besides, being one of the best will only shoot up your income. So, why settle and glory in less, when you can be more? Yes, some of us fans may never earn as much as Mikel, but if we apply ourselves in our industry, we can be one of the best and highest paid. After all, these things vary from industry to industry just like basketballers earn much more than footballers. Can Mikel's pay cheque be compared to Rooney's, Aguero's, Fabregas, Yaya Toure's, not to talk of Messi or Ronaldo. Didn't Mikel have the potential to be just as big as these guys? A guy who had Chelsea and Man Utd fighting for his signature? Yes money=boss, but among his peers is Mikel the boss? Those criticizing him don't hate him. They only wish he could have achieved his massive potential. |

ANONYDOTT: i can see u a young lad... Do you know the history of Oliseh? Na dem bring mafianism enter Nigeria camp. mikel in his prime cannot even near oilseh's table in their time. It was not a matter of money... It was matter of prestige (Well until they were disbanded). NFA then could not even handle them... Remember Nigeria vs Denmark, They walked over the game just to prove a point to NFA... And still got invited to subsequent games because the players were so good the country could not do without them. After they were disbanded, the Naija performed woefully in the next world cup (02)... Could not qualify for the next and managed to make it to SA. Who is Mikel that we cannot do without... Mikel is just an egotistic lone wolf, he no get clique self, not to talk of these men that formed a soccer syndicate at their time. <Finidi, Oliseh, Uche okechukwu, Taribo et al. Let me remind that their last act of qualifying Nigeria to the World cup of 2002 was pure class. They qualified conceding only one goal and unbeaten in all 18 games leading to their disbandment (which included a Nation cup appearance where they came 3rd, knocked out in the Semis by an in formed Senegal team on penalties. Senegal went on to be the African show at that world cup) because of local football politics. Who is mikel obi? Dayuuum! You just schooled that brotha! Choi! |

Happiness87: It was under his tenure that Alpha Beta, a tax audit agency allegedly owned by Bola Tinubu, consulted for LIRS. according to the consultancy contract, one of the terms were that Alpha Beta will be paid an undisclosed percentage from IGR as consultancy fee monthly, hence making Asiwaju Bola Tinubu the Landlord of Lagos state. Although shortly before the general elections, Fowler resigned his appointment in a bid to contest for the gubernatorial seat on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos state in 2015, but was allegedly promised a juicy position if he stepped down, which he did.
Here are the possible permutations if William Babatunde Fowler becomes the new FIRS chairman;
Tunde Fowler would have been successfully compensated for stepping down Ambode Fowler will in his bid to increase IGR will initiate the tax regime and template he used in Lagos where even a pure water and gala seller will pay tax daily from his small income. He may employ Alpha Beta, a tax audit agency owned by Bola Tinubu, thereby making Bola Tinubu Landlord of Nigeria. This could be Buhari's compensation to Tinubu for his support to his campaigns. Not really interested in the conspiracy theories. I just want to get the "landlord" bit clearly. So, if I appoint a consultant to handle a part of my business (say marketing or revenue collection) and pay him a percentage of what he brings in, that suddenly makes him the CEO of my company? Just asking o! Trying to understand this business model correctly. Shouldn't it be that he is the biggest contractor or service provider? But Landlord? |

brainpower: Whether he snubbed him or not doesn't matter what matters is that some Nigerians just don't like him. because before the end of the week, Mikel will deny this and yet Nigerians won't believe because they already don't like him. Every coach always has problems with players and they blame it on the player saying he is pompous or snubbed them. Knowing oliseh just like keshi we will know he has so much pride and he will want to show he is the boss.
To me I believe he was ordered by some powers not to invite him and he knows some other powers will be angry hence blaming the young man. And some stupid people here are already taking it personal by abusing him for his personal life as if he broke their sister's hearts. Question is, WHY ALWAYS MIKEL? From Siasia to Keshi and now Oliseh. Why always Mikel? In truth, it's not by force to play for your country. If you don't want to, just retire from international football and make it known that you are not interested in national team call ups. Call a press conference and simply make it formal. He should ask John Terry. |

Nollywood fast rising actress, Omowunmi Dada has expressed her desire to die on the set of a movie, but only after she has finished playing her role in the movie.
Dada in an interview with Olisa.tv said: “I am going to work till I drop. I really wish I can die on set, when the time is right. It will be a pleasure to pass on doing what I love, it will be so fulfilling, passing on doing what I like. But, I go finish the job o before producer go say actor don die o.”
http://www.preniumblog.com/2015/08/see-nollywood-actress-who-wishes-to-die.html Comprehension is really becoming a problem in this country. She is simply implying from the bolded that she will keep acting till her old age, and when death comes, she hopes it will be while she is on set. How much simpler can it get? Unlike footballers, athletes or some other professions, actors can act far into their old age (e.g Sean Connery, Morgan Freeman, Clint Eastwood, Judi Dench, Taiwo Ajai Lycette, Olu Jacobs etc.). - No, she is not seeking attention - No, she is not praying for death - Yes, you need to start reading between the lines and with understanding. |

aresa: The issue goes beyond N78 million hence the former governor highlighting the selective peddling of info.
Where is the sense and wisdom in basing your judgement on mare numbers and not the terms and scope of work?
Have you ever built multiple websites, load and itemized thousands of pictures, videos, and speeches on the same websites on different media platforms before and if you have, exactly how much were you paid?
Lastly, have you factored into your judgement the fact that this same contract calls for lifetime maintenance too? Why not just tell us exactly how much you charge to maintain multiple websites for the rest of your life? Do you have a figure for us? Of course you don't.
Common sense dictates that you have contract documents stating exactly what was bought and paid for before formulating any kind of judgement or limiting anything to what you do. The most interesting thing about BRF's response is that he has not denied spending the said amount on the website. The onus of proof is now on those accusing him to show beyond reasonable doubt that the contract was overinflated. Sometimes this may be difficult to prove though. What A may charge for a service like this will defer from B. Like you noted, what are the terms of engagement? I'll be watching from sidelines to see how this pans out. |

Nature129: I always say that the only way Buhari can prove to the world that he's not using "fighting corruption" to witch-hunt PDP members is by probing, prosecuting and jailing Amaechi.
The Amaechi of PDP and that of APC are two totally different individuals as he worked when in PDP but in APC he started using taxpayers' money to fund Buhari's election (a fellow APC member), hence that explains why he was made campaigns director.
Amaechi in Buhari's cabinet is a trap...the world is watching...make him a minister or ambassador and see civil society groups and indeed Nigerians in action. We are keenly watching... I think sometimes as Nigerians we need to try and understand due process and also the difference between individuals and institutions. We also need to understand things like separation of powers and how federating states work. Buhari is not EFCC, neither have I heard of Buhari's government probing any state government or how they spent their allocations. So far his focus as been on federal parastatals and those who served directly under the federal government. I'm not sure he even has the powers to call for the books of any state government. The most he can do is empower the EFCC to do their job and not interfere in the process where a former governor is found culpable. Each state should also look into their books and handover notes, and if any discrepancies are found, then they should petition the EFCC to investigate and prosecute who ever is involved irrespective of their status or party affiliations. The Rivers PDP and Governor Wike should ensure that Amaechi is prosecuted if they have discovered anything that incriminates him. They don't need Buhari to do that. I will only cry foul if President Buhari prevents the EFCC from prosecuting anyone even in the face of glaring evidence. In fact.I will carry a placard and join a protest march then. We need to stop ascribing absolute powers to people in public office, especially the President. Let's strengthen our institutions instead. |

SirShymexx: They just don't like the guy and they have a problem with Chelsea - everyone knows that. They had the same problem with Drogba as well. As a top striker, you're entitled to certain privileges/protection - that's an unwritten rule. Not saying he should get all the decisions, but at least give him one.
Nah, his temper/temperament is part of his game and that's the reason why he bangs in goals. He's alright the way he's. Their problem isn't with Chelsea, but with Mourinho. When you accuse refs of conspiring against your team, you don't expect them to do you any favours. This was Mou's same approach when he arrived in 2005. He should give it up. Will Chelsea winning the league or not remove a penny from whatever remuneration the refs get? Why bring your team bad blood because you want to play mind games? |

SirShymexx: Brev, Costa didn't even get any decision in the game. He's a top player and he's entitled to some privileges and the fact that he didn't even get one just shows what these folks are about.
Not blaming the loss on the referee - the defence should take the blame. Both Terry and Cahill played poorly today, and Matic had an off game. Ditto how Montero had it easy against Ivanovic. However, Costa didn't get any protection whatsoever from the ref. He's not bound to get any love from the refs with his attitude. Refs in the EPL don't send you. He should ask CR7. Costa's a great player no doubt, but you know the English won't take any of his hot headedness. Mou needs to put a rein on his temper. Besides, the English game is more physical than it is in Spain. |
