IamOpemipo:Same way OBJ, GEJ and GMB will still chill, attend FEC meeting and show up at each others children's wedding. Even give each other national awards, while some Tanoids and Buharists will be there shouting themselves coarse. Kontinu ya mumu. |
This is so sad and also annoying. What the hell is wrong with our police? We must not let this case be swept under the carpet. We must follow up on it till justice is served. Let us spread this story through every medium we know. Those animals must not go scot free. I won't blame the IG Arase for this though. The rot in the force goes beyond him. At least, since he came on board the annoying checkpoints have disappeared from my neighbourhood, thus limiting citizens contact with those annoying officers. I will only blame him if these guys go free. |
Hhm, see them defending Wale here. But when their President (GEJ before, PMB now) rep their native attire to international summits they will open their mouths and be asking why he is not wearing a suit like everyone. If you don't seem to appreciate what is yours, why do you expect others to? |
Pidggin:I totally agree with you. Let's also add recently arrested rapists, murderers and armed robbers to that list. No need prosecuting them, after all these crimes existed long before they were born. |
Oh lawd! The Nairaland politics section has gone to the dogs. Rabid, lunatic dogs. |
PassingShot:Well said. Last I checked, Buhari did not receive hand-over notes from OBJ or Yar Adua's government. However, if in the process of probing the immediate past administration, the names of OBJ, Atiku, IBB, Tinubu and the likes pop-up maybe they can be probed too. We all suspect that these people are corrupt, yes, but it takes more than just speculation to probe and prosecute them. Let anyone who has hard evidence present it to the EFCC. The PDP, or is it TAN now, claimed to have evidence of corrupt practices against Buhari and Tinubu before the elections, but rather than prosecute them with the so-called evidence, they were busy producing documentaries with it. But not to worry, whenever the PDP returns to power they can chose to probe every government since Lord Lugard. |
baconadoke:I'm sure you'll find a university and a course that will accept your 180. Just don't try Unilag. |
Olufemiolaolu:They can try UNIMAID. ![]() |
These children of nowadays dey enjoy o! You score 180 over 400 for JAMB, your papa con carry placard follow you dey go protest. My papa go don give you your life story tey tey. Walahi, you go write that exam again until you get like 250-300. Na if he pity you na him e go try use connection help you get another course. Protest ke? Forgerrit! ![]() |
AshiwajuFoward:Hhm, you're trying to teach context on Nairaland? Okay o! Good luck with that. |
So much huff and puff over a ministerial list!!! JEEZ!!! Yes, we know it is important to have ministers overseeing the different ministries and parastatals and the earlier they are on board the better. At least that is how it should be in a sane society where things work. However, since 1999 we have had over a hundred ministers. Question is, have they improved our lot significantly? How many of the several ministers we have had in the last 16 years have made our lives better? So, why do we all make it seem like appointing these ministers will suddenly make all our problems as a nation disappear. President Buhari came in on a mantra of change. Change is a departure from the norm. If taking his time to scrutinize the books and processes of the ministries before announcing his ministerial appointees is part of the change of approach, then let us wait and see how it goes. After all, he has not contravened the constitution. We've tried the old way, it hasn't really done us much good. Maybe this way will work. Who knows for now? But to see people blowing hot and cold over a list of political appointees that may end up looting our already depleted treasury and cause us more grief, for me, is just a waste of valuable energy. The President has said we should wait till September. Okay, we are watching. When the list comes out and the ministers are cleared and begin work, we can then begin to assess them and see if the long-winded process preceding their appointment was worth it or not. Until then all these elaborate analysis, threads and counter-threads are just efforts in futility. President Buhari doesn't look like he his going to budge. SAVE YOUR ENERGY. Personally, I would like to see this matter come up in Senate when they finally convene. If they can set a constitutional timeline for appointments of ministers, then maybe this won't happen again. |
PassingShot:Stop trying to explain it to them. They either can't comprehend simple statements or have just chosen not to. |
Chamber10:Comprehension is really becoming a problem in this country. He said he will negotiate with them in respect to getting the Chibok girls back. That is different from granting them amnesty. That's like handing over ransom money to a kidnapper. It doesn't mean the police won't go after the kidnapper and arrest them afterwards. How hard is that to understand? |
richidinho:A list of all the chores you have for him would help. I'm guessing his trip to the US is a holiday. He is just sleeping, waking up and taking walks by the Santa Monica beach right? ![]() |
maestroferddi:Hhm, GEJ our hero! Imagine playing a soccer game of 90 minutes, and after your opponents have scored like 10 goals you suddenly realize with 5 minutes left on the clock that you are interested in winning. So, you try to score a couple of goals before the final whistle. Alas, the GAME IS OVER! All everyone can remember is that you lost the game, not the last minute goals you scored in a bid to save face. Imagine Villas Boas laying claim to Chelsea's Champions League title. Sorry bro, all we can remember is Di Matteo lifting the trophy. You dig? ![]() |
Personally, I don't know what the noise is all about. CHANGE is usually a departure from the NORM. The norm is to have state governors send a list to the President, who with or without scrutiny, forwards the list to the Senate. At the Senate most nominees are asked to take a bow and go to enjoy their new found status as Ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. No questions. No real screening. Just bow and go to loot your own share of the national booty. Buhari has decided in line with his party slogan to have a change of approach. Whether this approach will work or not is left to be seen. But there is nothing wrong with doing things differently. |
God will bless you real good. Let him spill if he has the balls. We want to hear it all. DaBullIT: |
derespect:So in your mind now, it is Buhari that will be carrying out investigations and going to court to prosecute those found culpable abi? Small time now you will ask Buhari to produce his WASCE. Yours is very suspect too with this kind of reasoning. So, you know that Buhari can do his work while probes are going on and you are here asking funny questions. Is Buhari now EFCC? Guy take your time o! |
Wow. This is interesting. I'm really following all of this keenly, and I believe it is good for our democracy. This is a real departure from the norm. A change of approach. Now, what I would like to see from the opposition PDP is having one of their Senators or House of Reps members bring this issue to the floor of the house when they finally begin sitting. So far, Mr. President has not gone against the constitution, but is it possible to put a time frame to ministerial appointments by a newly elected President through some form of legislation? Is such a time frame necessary or should it be discretionary? This is what I expect in a democracy; not all this endless propaganda. President Buhari has decided to do things differently as far as ministerial appointments are concerned. I would love to see if it will bring the desired change. |
ERODEDEAST:Wow! Only you, one man, is a whole government agency! Na wa o! Oya, answer the question you were asked, or are you just pretending to know when you don't? |
Tosinayoko:Boko Haram is in my government - GEJ. Who knows, maybe these are the real saboteurs of GEJ's administration? Well, let the law take its course if Dasuki is found to be culpable. |
Wildrage:Please point out the tyranny and impunity. Just a simple question o. |
barcanista:I have just one question for you Barcanista. How are you so comfortable defending something you are not sure about? Can you swear on the life of the person most dear to you that Dasuki is innocent or guilty? You've probably never met this man or may not know him as closely as you think, yet here you are playing his advocate like he was the bestman at your wedding. If or when he is charged to court, let the law take its course and prove him innocent or guilty. Your writeup is simply your uninformed opinion. Stop making it sound like you know the facts. |
All I see here are people blowing hot and cold over issues that are still under investigation. Dasuki may be guilt or innocent, time will tell. But to see supposedly educated people throwing around all sorts of conspiracies is disheartening. Witch hunt. BH sponsor. Some of you speak like you are Dasuki's shadow. When you don't know the facts, you shut up and stop speculating. |
Some of the comments on this page sha. If some of you were old enough in '89 you would have sacked SAF in his first season. Give LVG a break. Even after a poor start with all the injuries, he still got us back in the Champions league. As for Di Maria, truth be told, his heart was never in United. It was just a lucrative and convenient move for him because Ancelloti didn't want him. His body language says it all. LVG gave him the opportunity to flourish in a United shirt, but you hardly see any real passion in his game like we saw at Madrid. Now he wants to go back there. Plus his wife doesn't like it in Manchester. Probably not enough people to speak Spanish with. I would love for him to stay, but he has to want to stay and give 150%. |
Rubbish talk from the OP. If this Caucasian presenter on BBC Hard Talk could understand Buhari for a whole 21 minutes and you can't, then you are the one who should widen your scope. Have you ever listened to an Irish or Scots man before? Or maybe someone from the South in America? They are English speaking too and they have heavy accents that are sometimes difficult to pick if you are not familiar with it. OP stop being foolish. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBkmrHgN10I https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ee_N3g4ORLk |
E be like say anything wey concern snake these days na potential frontpage thread o. make me sef go look for snake wey I go kill. *puts on jackboots and begins hunt for frontpage snake* |
Freemanan:Stop wasting your time. The dude your quoted has no sense. |
ugoezeik:Dude, stop insulting people all over the thread. We all know the country is hard. That is more reason to pay serious attention to family planning. This man has had three sets of twins. One can understand the first and second set. He expected one each time but got twins. After four kids call it quits with baby making. Feeding four kids in today's economy is a huge task already. Now they've become six. I've been married for some years now with just one kid. My wife and I have resisted pressure from family and friends to pop out more because we don't want to struggle to cater for our kids. I know what it means to pay school fees o. There are times when you want to say screw the rubber, but when you remember that once can turn to pregnancy, you have to give yourself brain and be disciplined. You can't afford to leave everything to chance. |
To slap this guy just dey hungry me. You know what your income is like yet you refused to do proper family planning after four kids. Even those earning millions per annum are trying to stick to 2 or 3, you are firing a loaded gun all over the place. I'm beginning to suspect the whole thing sef. Seems this whole "running" away thing was just to get media attention and the resulting assistance from government, corporate bodies and kind Nigerians. Please spend these funds wisely and take care of those little ones. |
lionduke:This your theory doesn't add up. If she delivered the southwest for APC as you say,why would they kill her? If you had said she promised to deliver the southwest for GEJ, collected money like it was alleged about some people like Doyin Okupe, and then reneged, maybe it would make some more sense. But then our former President is not that kind of person. Whatever, this might be about, taking a person's life is not the way to go. |
marqueetim:Did you process this thought before typing it out? So, let's imagine you or a family member is in school and the campus lecture hall collapses because the University cut corners, or work for say a company with a big office and it collapses because the management/MD cut corners, you will come and repeat this statement? Have a heart and stop being insensitive. |
