@justwise

If you are a student in Poland,or living legally in Poland, you dont need a visa to travel to France, infact you dont need a visa to all the shengen zones cause Poland is in the shengen zone,as long as you are a valid student or a legal resident, you can travel as you like within the shengen.Yes,you will need a visa to UK but it is very easy to get it,it is nothing compared to trying to get a UK visa in Nigeria and all the treatment people claim they go through in the hands of the officers.I have many friends in Poland that travelled to US this summer for 'work and Travel' and camp America, they are all Nigerians and it was damn easy for them.

FamilyWhat Is Your View On The Use Of Contraceptives? by Davedavy(op): 7:14pm On Jul 19, 2009
The late ace comedian Mohammed Danjuma once told a joke about the definition of faith. He said one of the definitions is the belief by a husband that the children his wife gave him are actually his.

While many would have found the joke crude, it is in fact a stark reality in marriage as many women literarily bring pregnancies for their husbands claiming it belongs to them.

However, these days for those randy wives, contraceptives which many women find a blessing, (helping them to plan their family and not just be a baby factory) also help them to ‘eat their cake and still have it.
So who is going for contraceptives…and why? The answers are as diverse as controversial.
ODEBIYI TOYIN
No, I won’t, on the fact that our body system varies from one another. It always has a negative effect on people. Some, after using it will not be able to conceive not until after several years. Some women might want to have a break in child bearing and will be unable to reverse the process.
MRS. EBULIE
Using of contraceptives, I believe is no sin or crime, especially for married women.
I can use it, provided I’ve had enough children for my husband and we have decided to settle for family planning. Contraceptives are meant for women who want to go in for family planning. Why raise so many children you don’t have the ability and resources to cater for? The use of contraceptive here is only meant for married women alone, aside this, it is an abuse and a risk for those who are unmarried; it could hinder or reduce their chances of having children in future or later when they expect one.

So, it is not advisable for young ladies or spinsters to use. They come in various ways and types: we have the pills, injection, the gel; there is one in a cone shape. The gel and injection prevents pregnancies by killing the sperm. Does not allow the sperm and egg fertilize.
But if a married woman would use anything to prevent her from getting pregnant, there are things she can do: the female condom helps as much a male condom; although the female condom is not very common but the easiest method, convenient way to prevent such unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases.
MRS SIMEON MARY
For what reason would I use any contraceptive?
I am married; I bring forth children which makes me and my family happy. Happiness has turn out to be my life and destiny. Children are gift from the almighty God who created man, for them to multiply on earth, so if I should do that am against the gift of God.
AMOSU ’DOLA
Why would I use a contraceptive? If I want to stop child bearing there are ways to go about it. To me it is not advisable to try your hands on any contraceptive; it could turn out against you later in life. God who created us has reasons why we have to be fruitful and if we now go behind to alter what He has destined for us, it will never remain the same. The word of God says we should be fruitful and subdue the earth; we have to be contented with whatever God does for us. There are many families seeking fruits of the womb; we should rather count ourselves lucky having children.
MRS ROSE KINGSLEY
Well, as for me, I am not interested in any use of contraceptive because, the first reason of marriage is to establish a happy family which is made up of children. So if i should do one, it means I’m destroying my family with my own hands. This could later bring trouble to me and my home because I’m trying to reshape what God had already destined for me and for the gifts He destines for me, (Children). I can't be against the free gift of God.
EGBAMUNO EJIRO
No, I will not accept contraceptives because there are other means of preventing unwanted pregnancies. My husband and I can afford to play safe through other means like withdrawal method or total abstinence from sex.
CHRISTOPHER JOSEPHINE
Yes, I can adopt taking one if I’m not ready for babies. There is nothing wrong with extending the time you are willing to have children, it is left to you and your husband to decide. But for me, I will accept it because I’m not in a rush to have babies because there are things one needs to achieve before babies come in.
MRS. ADEDEJI
This depends on individual and their reason for adopting that method.
For me, I don’t think I’m in love with the idea, no. I believe in natural things, I do not really like whatever has to do with additional services aside what God has done for us naturally.
Children are God’s gift, so adopting a family planning is like telling God you know the best for you. You are telling God that what He has for you is too much and you don’t need as much as He wants for you; in other words, you are telling him to hold the rest while you are satisfied with what you have.
People can never be satisfied with what they have, for example if we need more babies, we know the unrests, sleepless nights we go through. Now God has given in abundance but we still complain, what for? I would say, instead of the family planning, we can control ourselves through other simpler methods, rather than taking so much risk.
MATINA
It is better to follow one’s heart when it gets to the issue of child bearing. I wouldn’t really castigate those who engage in family planning because they best understand their systems. If you take a good look in the society today, you would see several aged couples who still make babies; some when asked would tell you it was a mistake, they never expected any baby. So, in cases where couples cannot stick to their words, they should rather go for counseling and decide what would be of help to them and their health.
MRS. WALE
I don’t have the smallest support for family planning. It could have a future disadvantage.
Remember, there is nothing as natural as what God gives that is why medical parishioners would always say, they only try their best but it is God that gives the perfect healing.
Only those who have had their child birth through series of surgical operation can be advised by doctors to put a halt to having more babies; and this is just for the safety of their lives and their children, aside that, I don’t think it is at all advisable.

8–day-old baby drugged, dumped in uncompleted building
•Mum says it was excess luggage
By Vincent Ukpong Kalu(vin@sunnewsonline.com)
Saturday, May 16, 2009

If Nkechinyere Kanu, 28, an apprentice hair dresser in Lagos was actually the mother of eight-day old baby boy drugged and dumped in an uncompleted building, she must not have considered the biblical injunction that says children are the heritage of God.

Last March 19, Amangwu women in Arochukwu, Abia State were shocked to their marrows when one of them stumbled on a baby boy wrapped with a skirt, dumped in an uncompleted building and covered with cassava leaves.

Some of the women opened their mouths while some held their hands on their heads and others strapped their hands across their chests in bewilderment over a mother’s callousness to his baby.

With this shocking discovery and the need to save the baby that was still breathing, the women went to Amuvi Model Health Centre and told the nurses of the development and the need for them to see what they could do to save the baby.

The Chairman of the council, Mazi Chibuike Jonas was informed of the ugly development and directed the maternity to take good care of the baby until he returns from his journey. When he returned and was given a report of the baby, he was pleased and promised to take care of him.

Asleep for three days
For three days the baby was brought to the centre, he didn’t open his eyes or cry. He was brought on March 19 and never opened his eyes till 22nd after concerted efforts made by the doctor and nurses to save him. The three days sleep was as result of two tablets of phenegan administered on him by the mother. The only sign of life in him was his breathe. The baby was literally dead until midnight of March 22. He had started having running nose. Because of will power to survive, the nurses at the health centre named him Destiny.

Police come in
After some days when the baby was back to life, policemen came to the maternity and demanded that the baby be handed over to them on the order of the Divisional Police Officer. The matron was bold enough to tell them that it was not proper to do that considering the frail state of the baby. Moreso, it will not be right to do so without informing the people that handed him over to them. The policemen went and saw the baby.

After some days, the police resurfaced with a woman who claimed to be the mother of the baby. This happened when Jonas was around. The lady was asked some questions and the answers she gave were not convincing. Jonas directed the police to arrest her and carry out investigations to determine the veracity of her claims. He equally directed the doctor to carry out some examination on her.

I am the mother
Nkechinyere claimed that she lives at 7, Ijegun, Ijegun Akin Joe and gave birth to the baby on March 11, 2009 at Zion Hospital, Ijegun Satellite Town. She said her husband’s name is Kingsley Ogar from Cross River State.

According to her, after some disagreement with her husband she decided to return to her village to stay with her uncle since her parents were dead. She left Lagos with her two kids - a little girl of about four and her baby who may just be two days old then. She arrived her village on March15 while the baby was picked on the 19th. According to her, the last time she visited home was 2002 when her mother died. Her father died earlier.

When she got to her village, the community had razed her uncle’s house.
The community had accused the uncle of being evil and visited him with jungle justice. He was accused of raping a teenage girl and used a swab to collect the blood from the girl’s private part. The community alleged he was to use the blood for ritual purposes and in anger razed his house.

Nkechinyere told Saturday Sun that “it was when I got home that I learnt my uncle and the community had misunderstanding and they demolished his house. I got to my uncle’s house and saw the ruins of the house. When I asked around they pretended not to know and instead threatened to visit my uncle’s sin on me.”

As a result of the threat, she decided to throw away her child who had constituted an excess luggage to her in order to take care of herself. If she wanted to reinvent what Moses’ mother did in Egypt by dropping him at the bank of the river in order to save the life of her son then Nkechinyere went beyond the line by drugging the baby.

As she was roaming the village, the youth leader of the community said a day before the baby was picked, he saw Nkechinyere visit a drug shop to buy two tablets of phenegan which she must have administered on the baby. The driver who brought her from Aba confirmed that she was with a 4-year-old kid and a baby.

The okada man that carried her on the day the baby was dumped said the four-year-old girl with Nkechinyere was asking her mother about the baby. He said he didn’t understand what the little girl was asking her mother until the issue broke out.

It was a mistake
As she was wailing uncontrollably, Nkechinyere said she wanted her child back. She admitted that it was a great mistake. “Please pardon me. It was a mistake. I want my baby back. My parents are dead. My mother was the last to die in 2002. I had misunderstanding with my husband and decided to come home. I had to drug and dump the baby because of the manner the villagers were threatening to kill me over their disagreement with my uncle. The name of my husband is Kingsley Ogar from Cross River State.”

She was sobbing all through and unable to answer most of the questions put to her.
When asked how the boy would see him if he grows up and hears how she treated him, she said he would regard her as wicked mother.

One more thing, what about your intended means of sustenance while in Poland? Did you show that to them? Cause it is also a requirement before you can be allowed entry.

“Means of subsistence an alien should be in possession of when crossing the border of the territory of the Republic of Poland
1. An alien entering the territory of the Republic of Poland should present, on request of the Polish Border Guard, the following means of subsistence to cover expenses concerning to entry, transit, stay and departure from the territory of the Republic of Poland in the sum of:
• PLN 100 - per day of stay for persons over 16 years old, but not less then 500PLN or equivalent in a foreign currency;
• PLN 50 - per day of stay for persons under 16 years old, but not less then 300PLN or equivalent in a foreign currency.

2. An alien entering the territory of the Republic of Poland for the period not exceeding 3 days should possession the following means of subsistence to cover expenses in the sum of:
• PLN 300 or equivalent in a foreign currency for the person over 16 years old;
• PLN 150 or equivalent in a foreign currency for persons under 16years old.”

When did this happen? I don’t think it was because of your Naija passport, I have been to Poland too many times traveling from Russia and have never been disturbed by the boarder guards, infact i found them friendlier than the Russian immigration. Maybe you were suspected that you won’t return back to Russia, did you show them your school id card in Russia? I only hope your finger prints were not taken cause it means you might have been registered in the Shengen Information System ( SIS) and you might not be able to enter any shengen country in the near future.

What I see in Russia is that though the salaries are low, yet an average Russian live a decent life, they might not be rich yet they are far from suffering, power supply is constant, they don’t pay in the hospitals, schooling is free and the government give students studying in their Universities some money (stipendi) every month for good performance. But the things I really like in Russia are their vodka, piva and of course their jevushki .

Rest of mind, no fear of armed robbers, constant light, good roads, hot/cold water constantly running in your house. Fast internet, yet you do not have to be rich to have all these things. If you really want to see what poverty is, go to the streets and see the homeless kids, there are so many kids in Nigeria that cannot afford education, how many countries in the west will you see kids hawking when they are supposed to be learning? There is a wide gap between the poor and the rich which is not supposed to be so, its not all about money, it is about security, good welfare packages, where when you are sick, you don’t have to go borrowing before you can have access to quality health care, where you don’t have to be rich to have access to good and quality education. Many kids on the streets in Nigeria wanted to be a doctor, lawyer, engineer, but it will always be a dream for them, just because they cant afford it. Many graduates are out there, searching for jobs after years of sacrifices in the University/Poly,only the lucky few land a good job. These are the reasons why people are leaving naija and people will continue to leave naija in large number.

She will need to contact the local police in Dubai to report the missing passport, she should be issued a police report and with this she can get a new passport from Nigerian embassy in Dubai. As for the visas, I am not too sure but if she has a photocopy of the lost passport with the visa in it, it will be easier to replace the visa. She should contact the German and Dutch embassy for that.

Are you looking for places to visit in Russia? The Red square is definately the first stop for any visitor to Moscow. It is the most famous city square in Moscow, and arguably one of the most famous in the world. The square separates the Kremlin, the former royal citadel and currently the official residence of the President of Russia. There you will also find the St. Basil's Cathedral, the ultimate architectural symbol of Russia, the State History Museum with its huge collection of artefacts charting Russia’s past right back to the stone age and GUM Department Store, the largest shopping store in Russia,it is a great place to do your luxury shopping.

For bars, restaurants, hotels, shoppings, theaters & Concert Halls around Moscow, you can find loads of information on this site ; http://www.moscow.info/red-square/index.aspx

Moscow is very cold now,so dont forget to dress warm through out your stay.Hope i have been able to help.
