SportsRe: Amuneke Wants To Coach Eaglets by davidif: 6:11pm On Sep 25, 2008
no matter who the coach is, they should simply make sure the kids are truly U17 by some bone marrow test or something, i don't want to see 20 year olds in our youth teams. We wonder why the Real Madrids and AC Milans don't buy Nigerian players, its because they simply want to know if that so called 18 year old boy they just spent 12 million pounds on is actually 18!!!!. Everybody is tired of the cheating abeg.

"Nigeria has potentials to lead the world"

yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah riiiiiiight ha ha ha. We can't even lead ourselves talkless of the world. Obviously, the man is an outsider so he doesn't know squat about naija. How the heck can a country that spends only 0.8% of its GNP on education while spending 60% paying the govt. bureaucracy (from president, to the govs of all 36 states, the house of reps at the fed. level down to the state level including all the ministers, local govt. chairman of all the 774 LGA's and not yet talking about civil servants) EVER DEVELOP, talkless of ruling the world. Mr. israeli envoy, on a good day any country can rule the world, but it all comes down to there govts. Another example is Brazil, which should be bullying the US, economically and technologically speaking, yet it is still a third world country because of corruption.
CareerRe: The Prostitution In The Nigerian Banking Sector by davidif: 5:20pm On Sep 23, 2008
anybody pretending that this doesn't happen is lying or in denial.

Dnt blame d banks abeg,blame d ladies that practice this evil act all in d name of money(meeting set targets).I knw of alot of young female enterpreneurs who r well 2 do n even wealthy through handwork(small scale biz.) e.g making of Hats,Jewelries,hairdressing,occassion organising,ushering,just 2 mention a few wic doesnt entail selling ur God blessed bodies 4 Man made cash(wic eventually is 4 another coy).
Its high time our ladies pride demselves n b decent.
@desh
Yeah, and how much are your enterprenuers making selling there little hats and what not. Abeg carry go jo. Everybody knows the pay is a lot better working in a bank. The people i blame here are there superiors and we wonder why AIDS is rising in naija.

PoliticsRe: Nigeria Airways! by davidif: 4:18am On Sep 23, 2008
Good old days my ass!!
When had we ever had a good time in Nigeria? Unless you are part and parcel of the system through your parents or family connection THAT RUINED NIGERIA through their greed. Things had always been the same and the different now is that we have the medium to talk about it. We have other mediums other than liars like NTA or FRCN telling you that snow is falling in Kano or Katsina.

It was the good old days because the Igbos decided to settle into business no matter how educated they are and other Southern minorities are quite happy to eat the crumpets and the Yoruba and northern elite are left with Nigerian oil money to toss among themsleves while the rest of the population can feed from the refuse bin and reside under the bridges, but now, people are talking and asking what use to be taboo questions, punishable by death.

Don't tell me good old day because of a picture of a white old aeroplane, you can tell that to people born today, not the likes of me.
@eziachi
Thank you o jare, you hit the nail right on the head.

by the way, adconline, thanks for the post, iits probably the most decent and most insightful thing i've read online (especially on nairaland) in a while, instead of those stupid topics like "why southerners hate notherners" absolutely enlightening, we need more stories like this.
PoliticsRe: Why Some White Democrats May Not Vote For Obama Because Of His Race by davidif: 5:27am On Sep 21, 2008
wow, i don't want to sound naive but this is very VERY shocking and this is a country that calls itself a christian country when the bible explicitly states that you can't love God without loving your fellow man, that means that this guys are just decieving themselves. What a shame.

Raimond and yommys01, do you guys know what you are talking abouthuh? In order to qualify for the U17 World Cup, you have to be one of the top 3 teams (1st, 2nd or 3rd) in the African youth championships but Nigeria failed to even qualify for the African youth championship because we lost to Benin of all people.

that's why i said the NFA should sponsor every coach of all national teams to go to Europe to get a UEFA Pro License and a UEFA 'A' License, that's the solution and while they are at it, they should start bone marrow testing so that we can start knowing the real age of this players.

PoliticsRe: 21bn LNG Scam: FBI Storm Abuja by davidif: 6:19pm On Sep 16, 2008
mr. bodisbobo
how long are we going to wait to start sending the likes of IBB and Obasanjo and Odili to maximum security prisons on jail sentences of 25 years to life? 10,20 years. This is a country with an incredibly horrible justice system ( http://www.economist.com/world/mideast-africa/displaystory.cfm?story_id=11506783 )so that's not going to happen anytime soon since everybody in politics is dirty.

You also said we should sit down and solve Nigeria's problems, we have not done anything yet in 48 years of independence what makes you think we ar going to do that anytime soon? probably when my grandkids are running for Nigerian senate by then this failed state would cease to exist by then.
PoliticsRe: Ekiti State - Fountain Of Confusion! Did You Agree? by davidif: 6:04pm On Sep 16, 2008
Education ke, which kind education? All Nigeria's education is about cramming (mental copy and paste) and even putting down word for word what the proffessor gave in his note back in the exam and they wonder why our country is still poor. Nigeria's universities can hardly be called advanced institutions of learning but advanced cramming institutions where teachers spend 3 hours of class lecture copying notes on the board or dictating instead of actually teaching what is in the textbook. With all there knowledge how many Nobel Prizes have they won in Economics, Physics, Biology or how many high tech company's have they created? yet they call it fountain of knowledge. Eku ise o, e ma tan ara yin je (keep decieving yourselves).

This means that this guys won't get to defend there title, what a pity.

Chei, how did this Alphonsus Dike get the job in the first place, why didn't they give the job to Ben Iroha who was the assistant last time. You guys see how Nigerians simply looooooooooooove to shoot themselves in the foot.

IN FACT WE SHOULD START A PETITION TO FIRE SANNI LULU!!!!!.
