Ajunwa should have done what was best for herself by renouncing Nigeria, she would have been living a comfortable life right now either working as a coach to some new young track stars or publishing a book, heck, who knows, she could have won more medals. Now she is living in pernury for a stupid USELESS country that gave her nothing, what a shame, but like the saying goes, life's not fair, get used to it. |
Being in Inter Milan doesn't guarantee that any player is a star just like being in Chelsea. My good friend, because you didn't know them does not mean they were not stars, its like saying nobody knew Fabregas before Euro 2008. I beg a Pardon, You people should let us fail this time around and learn from it.This right here is what is killing us, when this guys come back with a silver medal or a bronze medal we would say "at least they tried sha". Whatever happened to wanting to be number 1 at any cost? @visalbraye Dont forget Siasia was a world class player in his days, and he has achieved alotWhat!!! I am going to pretend that i didn't hear that? a player who played in belgium, australia, saudi arabia and was on the bench for nantes is the one you call world class? Yes, the man was a decent or probably good player but PLEEEEASE lets not just throw the name world class around any how. Three years ago my wife and I went to watch the Final between Nigeria and Argentina, we were opportuned to be in the same Hotel as the Flying Eagles, the Argentina, Morrocan and Brazilian teams and it was the first time i came accross Mikel Obi, a light training was scheduled for about 9 am in the morning of the final and while all the other players including Taiye Taiwo, Siasia and the Sports minister where already on the coach, they had to wait an extra half an hour for Mikel obi to come out of the Hotel and he wasn't even apologeticMaybe the guy was being interviewed because he was one of the star attractions of the tournament. and after the final whistle was blown he had to be restrained by other players as he was really giving it to the referee (very disgraceful)My good friend Thierry Henry and several other players have done that, if you watched the Nigeria-Argentina match, you would remember that the man made a lot of dubious decisions against our favor that some people were crying racism. The only reason why mikel didn't show up was because he was key in Chelsea's plan throughout the season and there was no way they would have let him go because they needed him to be fresh for the games considering the fact that they were thin at midfield and here you guys are hating on mikel. was the guy a divisive figure in camp like Raul or Mido? No, did he insult the manager like Roy Keane did in '02? no, was he lazy like romario who simply hated training? no. Yet mr. siasia would simply leave him out to dry like that simply because the boy was playing for his employers. When would Nigerian coaches learn that there is a difference between how you treat a millionaire star athlete and a primary school pupil? this is what management is all about not coercing players with a big stick all in the name of discipline. Can you remember how Christian Chukwu mistreated Okocha forgetting that the man is not only an adult and a father. This same guy sent Yakubu and Agali home for breaking curfew in the '04 nations cup instead of just fining them and we lost the next game against tunisia by missing a huge number of chance which a young newcomer like osaze could not put away. Now we are back to square one, it seems that we never learn from our mistakes. Any body can coach but not every body can manage that's why i've always propose that the NFA should sponsor all Nigerian coaches to go to Europe and get a UEFA Pro license which teaches them about management. Well, either way, i would be supporting the country (and not the coach) and hope they bring back the Gold and NOT THE SILVER OR BRONZE. If they fail this time around, everybody would either give the usual excuse that "they didn't prepare well" or "they didn't have enough time for preparation" (how many times have we heard that?) or even say the referee was racist ha ha ha. |
@A-40 You and the sensational headlines sef?My good friend, sobriety in the media doesn't sell just sensationalism, that's why british newspapers like "the sun" sell a lot ha ha. |
@okponkowa or whatever Who knew Youri Djorkaeff and ZINEDINE ZIDANE before France '98?I knew who they were and a lot of football fans know who they were, if you didn't know who they were just say it. Djorkaeff was at Inter milan then and Zidane got to the champs league final with Juventus that year so please don't talk like you know everything. In fact, this guy did well at Euro '96 in England where they took France to the semi's. |
@A-40 Why Halle let a whiteman pop her to get an Oscar?First of all, Jada kiss is not the guy you want to taking movie analysis from? Secondly, what did Halle Berry do that was Oscar worthy before she won the Oscars "Executive Decision" he he he. Agreed her performance was great in Jungle Fever but not enough to warrant an Oscar nominee. Also, Denzel should have won an Oscar for Malcolm X and NOT "hurricane" or "Training day", Russell Crowe had the better acting performances for both years: Gladiator (probably the greatest acting performance ever) and a beautiful mind which was better than Denzel's performance in Training day. The reason why i think he didn't win that year for "Malcolm X" was because brotha malcolm was such a divisive figure in America that they didn't want to touch the movie, and the movie and its director Spike Lee were very controversial in hollywood at the time. |
yeah, you're right and they are so horrible except Osuofia. Omotola's voice is soooooooooo pathetic i couldn't believe she was singing, she better go stick to her day job with that her toad voice. Abeg, na too much hollywood they cause am, them see J.Lo they do acting and singing and them think say them fit do the same thing. Nonsense. |
the man has passed a bill to increase the number of teams participating in the Euros from 16 to 24. That means that unfortunately, we would be seeing the likes of San Marino, Andorra and Cyprus which would really dilute the competition. Chai, what a shame. http://www.inthenews.co.uk/sports/football/euro08/uefa-expand-euro-championships-in-2016-$1229428.htm |
noooo, don't mind them my sister, they just wanted a free trip to New York. |
@karmamod Anyway, I don't think Jamie Fox even deserved that Oscar. davidif. He was ok in Ray but not Oscar worthyYou are joking right please tell me that you're joking. Did you ever see the real Ray Charles? i had been watching the real ray charles and his performances loooooong before the movie came out or before Ray died and i cannot begin to tell you how extremely impressed i was by Jamie Fox despite the fact that i just caught like 30 minutes of the movie when my friends were watching it, that's how good the performance was. Jamie Foxx couldn't get have gotten closer to the real Ray Charles in that performance, it was soooooo sublime. |
Get Freekicks,Or Dive TryingNow, that's really funny. |
i think they would sell makelele at the end of this season while he still has value, Chelsea are not going to sell a player almost in late 30's to a player in his 20's. Makelele, as good as he is, can't play every game of the season and put in an optimum performance like Essien can do because of his age but they would use him in certain key games like the CL or big games in the premiership. This is where Mikel comes in. |
@redhotchic Mine is :Thank you jare my sister, a friend of mine said it to an oyinbo girl here and the girl didn't respond she just walked by him and i was telling him how embarassing it was not only to me but to the girl and the guy was like what should i have said, "good afternoon ma"? |
she better be extremely fine o. |
Geez, let me see Denzel Washington has won an Oscar award (the baba of all acting awards) for best supporting actor in "Glory" was nominated two other times for "Hurricane", "Malcolm X", "Philadelphia" and won again for best actor in "Training day". We are not even talking about his performance in Malcolm X which is regarded by many critics as probably the greatest acting performance of all time in a movie. Then you have the audacity to compare him to Will Smith. ![]() Agreed he was nominated for "Ali" which was an awesome performance, but if you want to know what acting his, go and watch Helen Mirren's performance in "the queen", Jamie Foxx performance in "Ray" or go and watch Russell Crowe in a "Beautiful Mind". That's what acting is all about, not who sells the most at the box office or those stupid mindless blockbusters that come out every now and then (Transformers), anybody can blow stuff up, the question is can everybody act? if acting was easy, then we would all be in hollywood, heck Arnold Schwarzenegger or Jackie Chan would have won several Academy Awards by now. ![]() For those of you who want to know what acting is about, go and watch Merryl Streep, Jack Nicholson and the great Sean Penn, those guys are by far the greatest cinematic actors of our day, and not Regina King. |
Please. . . . . . .Basketball is a useless game. . . . Nuthing spectacularwhat of soccer which is incredibly boring, all the running around and a match ends 0-0. In basketball its more like 110-109. You just reminded me of this video of a move made by a ball girl. . . my jaw dropped! wow!Actually, that was staged, i saw it on CNN. say its a tie between the AI's crossover that almost broke Yao's ankles onceit was stephon marbury. couple years ago Ricky Davis jumped over one of those 7-foot whiteys on his way to the rim, sick move. That was Vince carter over Frederic weiss in the sydney olympics not ricky davis. what about the slam dunk contest, especially Jason Richardson's dunk. |
iice, absoltely love Horatio's one liners! quite corny!!!! the shades - awesome! LOL! ![]() He he you are sooooooooooooooo on point the guy has to be the cheesiest actor ever. ![]() https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJSqkwyL1Zo |
see how Nigeria is turning to South America (especially Colombia) before our eyes. Kai, what a shame. |
@siskil Quote But. . . but. . . what about Regina King, Gabrielle Union, Jessica Alba, Katherine Heigl? ![]() oh my my, are you CRAAAAAZY, i don't mean to disrespect you but are you really REALLY high?? its obvious you know nothing about acting, because of someone was in a successful movie doesn't make them a great actor, geez why do you think they have never been nominated for an Academy Awards (The oscars don't lie), none of them have even won a golden globe or even a SAG award. omo, stop am o, acting is aaaaaaaa lot more than appearing in big budget movie anybody can, heck, wasn't transformers a mega hit, but it was an extremely horrible, i mean horrible movie. The plot was pathetic, the casting was just awful but that didn't stop it from being a hit. If you want to know what acting is about, go and watch the movie "malcolm X", or go read it up online, then come talk to me. Geez, Katherine freakin' Hiegl ![]() |
what kind of movies. |
and the roads should look like this
|
, or this
|
He might be trying but he still has a long way to go. What he should do is to depopulate the urban areas and he should do it by installing property taxes to deter people from settling in the city. For example, a $17000 minimum tax on all residents plus any additional percentage depending on your economic class (e.g 17,000 + 28% of income of tax per acre of land you own)would make people flee the city and resettle in the rural areas and the revenue would be used to transform the city to Dubai or Berne and make LASU and LAUTECH the next MIT, or Caltech. He also need to develop the rural areas and the best way to do that is to invest in agriculture and tax the farmers to use the money to develop the rural areas by creating free education and free healthcare (people in the 21st century should not be dying of typhoid or malaria), then he should create a sophisticated transportation system. He should lead a state led industrialization drive in the rural areas by creating food processing plants and other light industries like textile factories in the rural areas, this would create jobs so that that all those guys who have gone to the city to look for work and ended up becoming agberos and ashewos to make ends meet would now come back home. This how a city should look like.

someone should just start the trend and take a big company to court, if it happens, then everybody would follow suit. |
@rman yes o, correctly said, there is no hiding place in the Euros, if you don't bring it every single game, then you pack up and go home (the Dutch can testify to that). I remember the '02 World Cup where Brazil won because they didn't face any tough team (a michael ballack-less Germany doesn't count). That team was a little above average, despite that fact they still went on to win even after horrible games against Belgium and Turkey in the semi-finals, i can't imagine what the Dutch led by van Nistlerooy and Kluivert would have done to them and there squeaky defense that year had they qualified or how Argentina would have trounced them (which they did in the qualifiers) had they met in the world cup. @akinalabi Did you see Cameroun England game at Napoli in 1990?Did you see Holland vs. Czech republic in Euro 2000 (part 1) or the perfect game ever played Holland vs. Czech Republic in Euro 2004 (part 2), those games are regarded as some of the greatest ever played not some game played in 1990 where the back pass was still legal and was always used to delay the game and milk the clock. |
see how Nigeria is turning to South America (especially Colombia) before our eyes. Kai, what a shame. |
why is it that a graduate cannot get a lucrative job in a bank or anywhere in the corporate world simply becaue he is above 28? This is called discrimination and if that happened here in yanki, the company would get sued back to the stone age. Naija people what do you think about it? |
Yes, it did pay some dividends considering the fact that they had some players named Youri Djorkaeff and ZINEDINE ZIDANE. Meanwhile, our man here is replacing Mikel not with some widely acclaimed or super-gifted player but with some no-names, in fact the best of the bunch just got bought by Trapzonspor ( is that how you spelt it) and this is supposed to be our response to Pato, Messi or even Arguero. Well goodluck Siasia, you would really, REALLY need it. |
@rizoma My sister goes to medical school also in the carribean and the schools are awesome and they cost less. |
@poster Trust me, until you go to a good school here in yanki, na then you go realize say we are studying NOTHING in naija. For those who want to argue, come here first, after a semester at USC or university of Vanderbilt, then come and talk to me. |
the reason why nurses are well paid in California is the relative high cost of living. |
I thought all male Nigerians study Engineering! |
