For those saying you should wait till you have enough money, is there ever a time there will be enough money? Or is marriage meant for the rich only? I think we are missing the point. While money plays an essential part in marraige, it shouldn't limit or restrict those that are 'ready' for it. I'll simply throw my weight behind those advising you guys to do a very low key arrangement, you can even do registry and entertain a few well wishers thereafter, then you guys can wait a while, working you arses out to at least when you atsrt earning a reasonable regular income before raising kids.

Please dont go ahead bearing kids now if you cant take care of them, but for marraige, you can carry on if you sincerely love each other.

I'm Supposing, you wouldn't run to nairaland seeking advice if you could afford to buy her a car now? In anycase, i share your feelings my brother. I must be very honest with you, from experience, i know that such gestures would usually make them closer and boost their intimacy. I think you should take the generality of the advice given here. It is expected that you trust her, if not  you wouldn't marry her. While i agree that you dont unnecessarily create room for temptation by allowing it, i think it will be unfair to her to subject her to the pains of going by public transport when she can easily join a colleague to the office. Like someone said, try and strike up some kinda friendship with the guy, atleast it might be hitting at his conscience if he's playing games with your wife, and consequently put a stop to it if at all something like that had been going on. Moreso, if she really wants to be shagging the guy, not joining him to work would not stop it. Above all, try to let your wife know how you feel about the arrangement, she may even decide on her own to stop following the guy if that will make you happy or come up with an alternative arrangement you will be comfy with.

Please try not to allow your mind run riot about your wife most times, hence you'd die of jealousy and mind you, she may not even mourn you for up to 6 months before some smart guys will start srewing her again. You need to learn to let things be attimes,

Geeez, It is difficult to believe these comments are coming from Nigerians. When will you ever learn to celebrate your own! Do we always have to 'bad mouth' every good thing being mentioned about the country. Nigeria rarely enjoys such good news, and when she does, we should learn to accept it with warm enthusiasm and pass commendations to the appropraite quarters.

It is so easy to condemn Boko haram militants and the deranged course they are fighting, claiming they have been brainwashed into believing the rubbish cooked into their head, but have we stopped to think about this 'ill mindset' we've got abt this country that nothing good can come out or be said about her, please lets stop acting like some people that have been brain washed into believing that this country is doomed. Without giving credit to the whole rebranding brouhaha, i think there should be some kind of paradigm shift from this mindset, and thenafter, we would see how things would shapen up.

Nigeria has got prospects, and whether you believe it or not, there are forces, cabals, people, sects, nations etc benefitting from the myriads of problem plaguing us, which includes our unpatriotic and uncivilised approach to issues like dis. It is left for us to allow them to keep basking in the euphoria of their callous mirth or be wise and and see the treasure in our beloved country.

Did Someone not just explain what collateral is? It doesn't have to be a landed prperty, car, share certificates etc. Once the loan is secured, it could be said to have been collaterized. For salary earners enjoying overdraft facilities, their employers secure the facility through the covenant agreeed with the bank that their salaries and terminal benefits must be routed through the bank, and that is some kind of comfort to the bank.

For APGs or Project financing, there is something called domicilliation of account, which means that whatever contract you are executing with the loan from the bank, it must be paid into your account with the bank, and mind you, the bank is expected to be monitoring the extent of workdone and will be aware as soon as the money is paid because you wont be able to withdraw it as the account would have been 'liened' or put on 'post no debit' status until the bank has taken it's charges.

For the man claiming that his friend got N75M uncollaterized loan, i make bold to say it's not true. It's either you dont understand what collateral is or you are just passing a joke. While i agree your friend may not have submitted property documents (if your claim is true) He must have obtained some kind of bank guarantee from a reputable bank covering the loan before a finance house  undertook to disburse that amount, that of course depends on the nature of the facility, but the truth is, it must have been secured somehow. Otherwise, there must have been a breach somewhere along the line, and the bank will be terribly sanctioned should CBN Auditors discover it.

However, i must mention here that Microfinance loans are very friendly in structure and pattern, such that you will only require guarantors whose income would exceed a predetermined amount by the bank to disburse. E.g For N100,000 I know that some MFBs give loans once they have studied your withdrawal patterns and as soon as you provide two guarantors, but for N500,000, you will be required to get atleast one internal guarantor (a staff of the bank) if you dont have an item to collaterize the loan with, in which case the staff becomes responsible should there be a default.

With the fan base of the English premeirship clubs in Nigeria growing by the day, especially the Top Four, It's almost difficult to tell which of them has the highest population of fan base in Nigeria. Though one may be tempted to tout Arsenal as being the most popular in nigeria interms of Fan base,but you can't rule out the possibility of chelsea too. What an unfortunate incident!

God will save us from these dare devils. Also worrisome is the response time of our police. A colleague was just narrating his experience with them over the weekend. He was told his house was being burgled and his wife and daughter were held up by men of the underworld as he was approaching his house, so he decided to inform the policemen he saw just a few meters away at a road block, and what they told him was to go to the police station to report as they were on another assignment. Can you beat that?

Back to the issue. It kinda strange that someone would get into a relationship without knowing what to get from it, or where the relationship should head.

So, it's the choice ones that are really scarce? I dont think it's peculiar to men then, it's both ways, because choice ladies are difficult to come by too, it's just that it's difficult to tell who's fake from the real ones at first blush.

while i encourage entrepreneurship, i must advise that you look well before taking the leap. the infrastructures are just not there, with expected running expenses hitting the 7 figure mark, how can an average beginner cope? Even when existing businesses are winding down. Some companies spend as much as N140M monthly on diesel to power their Gen., not to talk of other operating expenses.

We still have a lot to do to encourage entrepreneurship.

I totally encourage entrepreneurship, it's the best form employment ever and the major panacea to poverty, and i just pray, God enables as many of us that desire it, to stand.

Please quit hating the banks, whether we like it or not, they are basically the cause of the return of the middle class in the land, and have given the economy a boost in recent times.

Are men really scarce? or could it just be the ones ladies think are responsible enough for marriage (I mean husband materials as they are referred to in local parlance) that are difficult to come by? Otherwise why would it be so much of an achievement for a lady to be hooked these days.
