Hello house. Some of you might be familiar with this username. I'm the guy who was on this platform months ago asking which of the cars to buy and start a transport business b/w toyota and honda.

Thanks to moderator who moved the topic to fp and i got the answer i needed.

I bought a vehicle 'bus 18seater' and kicked off the business. The business has been filled with pains and joy but i always keep my head up.

Two days ago the car failed break so i parked it by the road hoping to return the next day with a mechanic since it was night. Coming the next day, electric pole and fence fell on the bus and damaged it beyond repairs.

The cause of the accident is as a result of the gutter a construction company dug.

Should i sue d company? What should i do. Am confused and depressed. 60% of the money i used in buying the bus was a loan. I haven't paid it.

Pls lawyers in nl advice me.

Please do not commit suicide, that's usually not the best option.

You might also not win the case in a court because a construction site is usually not for public use until they are done and the site commissioned.

Your best bet is to look at the terms of your insurance and see if it favours you or probably use the insurance firm to negotiate with the construction company to get the most you can, otherwise, learn to move on even though it's difficult.

Without knowing the owner, I think he is somewhat honest; and used the car with utmost care/maintenance. It's a fair deal.

We are talking of 240k here sand even if you end up spending 200k on minor fixes, it's still a win win for you.

I sold the laptop to him in good condition if u check my sales I usually make sure i state problems of any items i am selling i.e the explorer i sold with faulty hdmi port,the fridge i sold with d fridge compartment not working.

If i had issues with that laptop i wudav stated it. We where together for about an hour with d laptop working, he even opened it and checked the hdd. I gave him 2gb of ram which he installed and everything was working well. Even gave him a charger i never wanted to sell with, yes he was a nice guy got lumch for me so i had to let go d charger. I even drove all the way to ikotun to give him d laptop and he followed me when i was going back home buh he stopped around my house. If i sold a bad laptop to him i will never had allowed him follow me take note.

He messaged me teo days afterthat the charger blew (not my fault) messages me third day that he got a new charger after few hours messages me that the screen is flickering and finally the fourth day or so that the laptop wont come up.

After all dis he now asked me if i would refund him his money(abeg how do u expect me to refund him)

This morning he sent me a message with swear words see below for screenshot.

I am not supposed to reply him buh i felt i shud reply decub so i wont look like a scam. I av bin on nairalist before Nairaland since 2010 and av got 100% good reputation. I wont comment on dis again

Well, what more can I say. Perhaps the laptop wasn't meant for him. It happens tho, had given out a Moto G4 to a colleague cos it was given me issues, only to discover the issue stopped when he started using it.

this PC was sold to me with a fault and you say you know nothing concerning it, the VGa was faulty even if it's fixed it takes days before the fault raises it's ugly head again , despite being assured nothing of such will happen before I paid, I tested the PC with you and thought nothing was wrong not knowing there was an issue with it till 2nd day cos the charger got bad and had to look for another charger to buy which made it take long to get, now I see why I wasn't given the ac cord.
hdmi is faulty, no Bluetooth , neither does the battery stay long.

this is a msg to anyone buying stuff to be wary of buying such items , and know that when any issue arise nothing will be done to remedy or soothe you.

I have learnt my lesson tho the hard way but this post should serve as a reminder to anyone who goes ahead with such persons, I don't do the same to anyone so I didn't expect anyone to do the same to me. if he wants to explain how it went down

This is my problem with people. It doesn't hurt to explain a fault to someone before he/she purchases. The much that would happen is for the person not to buy but you are sure your integrity is upheld. Some call it marketing strategy but that's pure deceit which will only hurt the seller in a long run.

I once met someone who explained how an item I intend purchasing works. I purchased the item from him anyway, tipped him for the lecture, on my way home, I offered someone who sought same information such explanation, referred him to the seller and he purchased the same item I did, the following day I referred a friend who needed same thing and he purchased same item.

Till date, I know his office and makes him my first point of call for similar items. Integrity opens various doors while deceit opens one door and shuts the rest.

She kept borrowing and ended up borrowing 5m from the bank for this business and whenever they make profit he takes it all and gives her crumbs, things were so hard for us and she kept saying he loves her whilst complaining to us.

Maybe not. Similar thing happened to me sometime last year in Egbeda and I learnt from it. I hung my back pack by my right shoulder, held my smart phone with the left hand and another smaller Jivi phone with the right hand so everything I would have defended myself with was occupied. As I was alighting from the bus already packed beside a channel, the guard of my bag hooked on the frame of the bus while I was already half way out and my left leg hooked on the first row passenger seat,.This would have resulted in me falling face down. Between making sacrifices, I had to sacrifice the Jivi phone with my elbow. The phone smashed while I got some little bruises on the palm and some slight dislocation.

I learnt never to hang my bag while entering or alighting from a bus, and not to; at any point in time, occupy my 2 hands.

How far are we willing to go with minding our business, i watched a cctv of a woman getting robbed and people just walked by minding their business. So i ask again, how far are we willing to mind our business ,just because you dont like how this played out doesn't mean there will not be another case where good samaritans will be needed to save the day.

If I see someone getting robbed, I have an obligation to call the police cos I'm not trained to catch thieves or disarm an armed man. What if I get killed in the process? It's even better for you to leave the scene, mobilize people and come back if you want to help in a much faster way than try to salvage the situation yourself and all alone. If you try to record such situation, a simple gun shot might end ur life and both the robber and victim will run away.

Relax Bro, it's SuperMax that you are talking of. It got it's name from the Maximum Security of inmates, workers and little or no chances of jail break because of the rules.

Remember that US is not like some other countries where prisoners have no right and are treated like pigs. There are lots of confinement in Supermax but they tend to relax some after few years because of the inmate's mental health.

However, this won't be business as usual for El Chapo because he has lost 90% of his wealth, he is so hated in the US, he has a history of prison break even in maximum prisons, he's known to always buy his way through. These would limit his chances of linking the outside world from cell.
