See we are happy because this virus has not over our health care capacity, that is why we are still talking, the case must definitely raise because people were still moving about, even in the lockdown. If total lockdown was observed for just 14 days alone, is better than 1 month of partial lockdown.

Avoid greatly. Plus revenue from oil is on a lockdown. They just have to be smart about their decisions.
you are right, most people do not know that government via NNPC makes billions via daily usage of pms and diesel by Nigerians, not to talk of VAT and others...they do not think about what will happen when the nation runs out of funds.

Coronavirus can not affect up to 0.5% of our population that is about 1million people(worse case scenerio) cos the vaccine will be available here soon, its in the UK now, but economic stagnation via lockdowns, if stretched too much and hard can jeopardise and affect negatively the lives of over 80% of Nigerians.

Some people are too myopic, they only need to see the big picture.

the part about the nose mask and the fine is very much okay. I find slight issue when you talk about the ban on public buses. It will allow for a hike in cab prices and it might seem to favor only some selected few but since it's for a short while, your opinion on this is workable. Cheers
read in full, with time government will provide regulated mass transit buses, it is better we open 70%, than 0%

Nothing works in this clime. We are too disorganized and disoriented to make anything work. The governors don't have a choice as they are not capable of providing stimuli to make people stay at home. They talk of compulsory use of face mask as if they are ready to provide for everyone. Do they think everyone can afford face mask? Will Nigerians in their lackadaisical manner even obey? It is better, they open and let us go out. Those who will die will die and those who are destined to survive will live. No be today people don dey die, life has lost meaning to us here.
its cheaper to share facemasks than to shut down the economy...when the hunger bites too hard, people will go crazy, do not pray it gets to that...do you know 70% of Lagosians are dying of hunger as we speak, the palliatives did not go round.

Even close to a zombie invasion sad. At that point, our sanity will be tested and many will fail. Then there will be mass looting. The thing is, if there is money to go round per week they add, it will go a long way to keeping people calm but like you rightly said, it will "rape" the economy. Great emphasis on rape
you get the point, so many people are weak, and so many youths are into drugs, self control is weak...this is something government must avoid.

I live in Lagos. Your point is valid and I see sense in every word said. Hunger, anger and crime will rip the economy in half. Point is, I was stating the obvious on the two sides of the coin. It's left for them to pick the better half. My take
I think the better half is encouraging masks wearing or pay fine, if people see that they are fined 5k while mask is N300, they will buy mask...also Lagos state local councils will send officials to regulate markets and ensure there is no crowding, and everyone coming in wears face mask, bank, offices can do same. Danfo and molue can be banned for now, people can use their own bikes and bicycles to move as well as cars, companies too will convey their staff, and government can deploy mass transit bus systems that can be regulated into Lagos transport system, schools, events and gatherings can still be closed for now. Lagos state has better and bigger isolation centres now, better prepared to cater for the sick, and the vaccine is being administered in the UK now, we need to run our economy to make money to buy the vaccines. Our economy is our life, we are smart people, we can not let a virus halt our existence, but we must find solutions to work around it...we are smart people, we find solutions. Those that want to stay inside can stay, let our economy thrive. Eko' Onibaje oo

If there is an extension of the lockdown, I hope we all have guns to hold still the likely rise in crime and the government enough food to appease the stomach of everyone.

If we call off or "make light" the lockdown, even with restrictions we are Nigerians and stubborn by nature and so therefore break rules which will see the hike in cases.

They just have to be smart about any decision taken. Be safe out there Nairalanders
crime and violence will spiral, people will run out of cash in atm cards, they and their dependents will go hungry, people will start acting like animals...it will be worse than Corona

Do you live in Lagos...Lagosians are smart people, you know what it takes to pay rent and live there...do you want Nigerian economy to collapse, dont you know these 3 states largely sustains Nigeria's economy...people are recovering from Corona Viru, its only 4/100 infected people that die...a stagnated economy with its ripple effects of hunger, anger, violence, crime, depression, acute shortage of money will destroy our society more. Good decision by the governors.

Fantasy that’s currently killing thousands daily. If we get a working vaccine then that’s the perfect solution; not sending people to their deaths because you want to restart the economy. The economy will even refuse to start sef. Which worker will stay when people around him/her are dropping dead
did you see the amount discharged,.it is not a death sentence, more or less like any other virus, the world was scared cos it was new.

my sister Generally, vaccines take several months to pass different stages of testing, and composes some phases to assess their safety, their efficacy and finally their durability over a defined period of time.

And if there is any vaccines available for consumption now at the short timeline then the vaccine seems dubious to me,

All I can say is 19 is here with us...we humans can develop immunity to fight it.
the vaccine is being injected in humans already, read news and stop swallowing and spreading fear. advancement in medicine and science makes it easier to make vaccines faster,we are not in 1918, this is 2020...yes i agree with you, our immune will learn to resist it.

oga stay in your house, am speaking of Lagos state, i have no business with other states...stop talking like a fool, attrition is used un physical warfare...how many have died so far...this is the vaccine being tested, all your talk of gloom is just your fantasy. lock yourself up with your family, no one will force you out.

Oga you are talking trash, people give birth and die everyday...how many people have died so far of Covid, how many people die yearly of malaria, over 300k...do the maths...not everyone it affects dies, only 4%, El Rufai, Boris, and so many survive, only 4% of those affected have died...only 30 people have died, in a nation of 200mil,do you know how many people bandits kill each week?
do you know how many people die every week normally...what is your fear?

my brother don't mind that ignorant scaremongerer. By the way, your suggestion is the way to go. 19 has come to still...life should go on.

As it stands now, Viro scientists has it trying to decode genome sequence of 19...All viruses mutate constantly, many of the mutations are due to climatic conditions

Humans have to build a level of immunity just we did when mosquito's carrying malaria and mutate entirely in humans.
people are quite dumb, so scared they can not use their common sense, with time our immune will be strong enough to ward it off...Covid is not a death sentence, only 4% die...lets not destroy 50% of our population cos of a virus that kills only 4% of those infected.
people are really dumb and gullible.
