The US has stopped buying Nigeria's crude. Their pursuit of shale oil is part of the reason price of crude has dropped. So why should Nigeria not defend itself?

Why should they be bothered that Nigeria is no longer interested in funding import of toothpicks and fish?

Which sensible nation that is surrounded by water will be imprting rotten fish from far away south america? With all our forest of Iroko trees, why should it be difficult to make toothpicks?

Looks like someone wants to use us dumping ground forever. Meanwhile they wont allow us carry elubo and garri through their airports, even when they are meant for our own household consumption.

MNCs has always been making abnormal profits in Nigeria .... MNCs rendered services that is not citizen oriented, more powerful than regulatory agency and do not give a hoot about Nigeria other than profit, profit and profit.

All MNCs in the Oil sector operating in NigerDelta, if they should be made to clean up ogoni land and many other communities affected by oil spillage which is normal global standard operating procedure, do you think their profit would be as high as being quoted.

what these MNCs did in Nigeria and are doing , they dear not try it in any advanced nations......... They are here just to make money simple while contributing little to sustainability.

imagine the lackadaisical attitude of MTN to the government policy on simcards .......... Useless mtn think it is business as usual .... Am on MTN network but when a company disregard our policy on our own soil, then she should face the music or ship-out.

Majority of MNCs and other FDIs came into Nigeria through corruption because Nigeria is one hell of a country with abnormal and illegitimate return on investment, Now they are taking away their money cuz Government is imposing citizen oriented service which shall rub them off their ill gotten wealth.

let them all go, they will come back when they are ready for legitimate deals and they should allow genuine investors to take over our huge market.

So called MNCs have not been participating in our development. All their offices and homes are in Ikoyi and they dont want to know what Nigeria is about. They just want to make their money and ship out. Ask them, they themselves tell you that they will get away with anything in Nigeria and there is no other country like ours where anything goes and where they feel evenryone has a price tag!

the things i see in this country leave me in a lugubrious state.
Nigeria is a country where mediocrity is accepted by the majority.
politicians come in and promise us goodies during campaigns, they promise to change the country for good.
but just after we elect them into power, they change their ways and act like they never promised anything at all.
but what pains me most is the attitude of the masses, we always feel euphoric whenever our leaders are around, we treat them like celebrities, we worship and honor them like demigods. never have the masses come together to criticize a ruling government, we Nigerians need to learn to subject the government to pressure and criticism, we need to learn to show our true feelings, i went home for vacation not long ago, and there was uninterrupted power for 12 hours that day which was unusual of PHCN, then when the power was interrupted, i overheard my neighbor say something like 'at least they tried today'. and i was like, "really" for real, i was irked by that singular comment of his, some countries enjoy perfectly uninterrupted power year in year out, total blackout is unheard of in some countries (even here in africa), for crying out loud, is constant power supply too much to ask for? it seems Nigerians are too comfortable with thew way things are in this country, we celebrate mediocrity, we feel our leaders are doing their best, whereas in reality, our leaders are far from doing their best,

i'm not impressed at all, it's saddening that in the whole 36 state there's just no governor that is getting it right.

You are right about that absolutely. No one knows what really transpired. Vincent is the only one speaking now and that may tend to put Oliseh in bad light. Nothing has changed. The 60% levy is the protection for local millers. Nigeria does not yet produce even 10% of the Rice it consumes, so the levy is what is required so that local rice will still sell well.
