WATCHOVER: Most times I find it disturbing when people always Potray Sani Abacha as the problem of Nigeria. During Abacha Nigeria economy was better than that of IBB. Sure Abacha might be strict but I take it that his lifestyle is adopted from his job and knowing fully well he has experience when it comes to coup plots and being the First Nigeria Military (Army) officer Who never Skip a rank he was a General before he bacame the head of state. No body is talking about IBB who during his tenure we experience free fall of the Naira. Please let us always look at history and research , it helps a lot Ever heard of Abacha stove? Don't remind some of us of the misery of that era. |

What did Jakande, Mudashiru, Marwa etc who came before him do? Some of us know how Lagos transformed over the years.
For instance, we have Lekki estates today due to Jakandes construction of the road from VI to Epe and many more enduring projects all done within 4 years. |
Family › Re: My kids are being trained in an hotel!! I Need Advice.. by delpee(f): 4:10pm On Sep 02, 2022 |
efficiencie: Well you need to be super careful with kids as a single father. One false accusation is what is needed to put you in a ton of crap. I guess your children are already of schooling age. So enrol them in befitting school and that would keep them busy between 8am and 2pm. After school closes you would have to go pick them and take them to your place of work. Since the business is yours it would be great for the kids to begin to get acquainted with what Daddy does for a living and realities of money making. This means that you have to make your business place a bit comfy for your kids to continue learning (doing homework and learning timeless wisdom from you), play (educational games), eat and sleep before you head home by 6pm. Once at home by 6pm, have your kids freshen up, have a light dinner, say your prayers and go to bed. Rinse and repeat! I will advise you to install cameras in your house for security purposes and to save your head when false accusations come raining down on you. At some point you may decide to take another wife. Don't make the foolish mistake you made with the first. Do not choose a lady based on complexion, your sexual appetite, physique or even dogma. Your wife is meant to be your helper. If she cannot identify the challenges in your life and provide solutions to them she is not your wife rather she is a thorn in the flesh. One good way to know is how well she treats your kids and whether your kids accept her or not. If your kids reject her then reject immediately.
Goodspeed! @OP This is good advice for you. Still try to formalise their stay with you as you take custody. |

Irupetepete: she works in an hotel... How sane is it to train my kids in an hotel? I rented a 2bedroom with everything needed in a home in it..their mom stays with her mother and my kids sleeps on a mat cos they live in a room apartment with no security.... The day I went visiting, I couldn't cry at what I see... The kids stray on the street... There are things I can't even mention... She can't stay with a husband because she believes she deserves someone like dangote or otedola....it is clear we can't be together and am not against that but you can't train my kids from an hotel You have valid reasons to get your kids through the Social Welfare Department or with the help of CSOs. You'll need to prove that you can care for them because by law, they should still be with their mother. The law doesn't envisage her living in an hotel though. Get a lawyer or social worker to help you out. You can also try the mediation court that's shown on TVC on Saturdays. The Justice Court...Good for alternative dispute resolution instead of a wieldy and expensive court process. Modified Just read the updates. Great that she has agreed but please follow due process for your peace of mind and the safety of the children. |

Witchcraft may exist as it is also part of the history of the developed world. However, in most cases in Nigeria, it's more of superstition and lack of willingness to find reasons behind situations logically or scientifically. That's why people thought kids dying early in the olden days were abikus while in reality, it was mostly due to poorly managed childhood diseases. Inoculations (BCG et al) reduced that.
Most elderly people are merely suffering from dementia. They sometimes forget everything about themselves and say odd things. Sometimes, wicked people who have scores to settle with them and knowing their circumstances, give them a bad name to hang them. It's a great pity. The elderly need a lot of care not harassment and humiliation.
There's an agency for the care of the elderly known as National Senior Citizens Centre. They're linked to the nation's primary healthcare centres. Perhaps they should be informed for assistance when things like this happen. |

xin5: At first I thought it was a joke when a neighbor told me my girlfriend came around last month while I was away in another vicinity. This was someone that knew about my movement, I confronted her when I came back and she told me it's a friendly visit to my landlord house, apparently she was invited by the landlord daughter to come spend time with them unto paddy paddy settings without my notice.
I didn't take it that serious because when she visits me, she always climb upstairs to go greet them....fast forward to this month, I noticed her strange attitudes towards me... no longer likes to visit... always saying we should meet in the mall. To come for my conjugal right is a problem. (I do send her Money, so it's my right).
She broke up with me last week which was okay.. I didn't sweat it. But what surprised me is getting to know she's been seeing my landlord son at different locations. it hurt me deeply because I took this guy like family even though we not close. But his elder sister and the middle one are so fond of me, giving me greenlight last 2 years when I just packed in as a young guy at 22 which I maintained frame but right now I may just do what I have in my mind and damn the consequences. Thank God and move on. Don't take decisions when you're angry. You could land yourself in trouble. |

ednut1: Although the op na my friend i will tackle her.
1. There are people building wealth in cheaper provinces like Alberta or New Brunswick where houses go for 300k to 400k. In Ontario its like 900k to 1.5m for the average house and you suppose drop 5% deposit for mortgage. Married people or common law guys are able to build wealth too due to combined income. Solution is move to a cheaper province, get married or find a partner. 2 . Cost of living- where in the world is not costly. With all the amenities, free resources, and standard of living why should it be cheap There are many people earning 3700 dols a month but staying in apartments costing 2200 dols. Is that not madness. Some are one 2500 a month but their rent is 1800 lol 3 . Boredom and loneliness- Nigerians move to a cold country and refuse to do what whites do in the winter. Whose fault is that Many ladies from Nigeria have unrealistic expectations and are single to stupor. Whose fault is that Lol 4 cold. Get a good winter jacket or knacks partner. Nothing dey there 5. Professional jobs- doctors know this before coming and should have explored uk. A friend passed the medical exams in 18months its doable. Yes there are issues with Canada experience but with constant applications and upgrading ones skills. You will be able to get in. You and i both know many people with only Nigerians experience or degrees balling in big companies
Oya come back home o.
I know people especially tech who moved to usa after getting their Canada citizenship. More money is involved and passport privileges too don set. The Canadian passport opens doors to better countries I totally agree. Those that I know there are doing well. They mostly have good jobs in the key sectors of the economy. Banking, IT, Health etc. All it requires is to take some Canadian exams to fit in properly. Some choose to be entrepreneurs. One lady chose to open a restaurant after graduation. She has opened a 2nd branch within a short time! I believe that it's different strokes for different folks. |

RedboneSmith: Surely, you know what this guy wrote is a load of crock.
Igala villages do exist in Anambra and Enugu, but they are a small collection of tiny villages in Anambra West and Ụzọ-Ụwani LGAs. They are so small and so invisible that many people in Anambra and Enugu don't even know they exist. And they are certainly not richer than the Igbo. If anything their areas are impoverished and inaccessible. Thanks for the update. |

shortIGBOman: The entire Anambra is IGALA ancestral State, half of Enugu is also Igala. Most of those wealthy people you see as Igbo are actually Igala. The IGALA in Anambra and Enugu are actually richer than the Igbo who live in those areas
The reason why the Igala embrace Igbo language is that, Igbo language is the language of trade in that Region. Just like Hausa is that language of trade in the North. Which forced other minorities in that region to speak Hausa. Interesting! I'm surprised actually. I've been to Anambra and Enugu before and assumed they're full Igbo states. Thanks for enlightening me. Our inlaws from Anambra claim Igbo ancestry with a traditional title attached to the family (Chief). Probably a mixed or acquired heritage based on your analysis. |
