Politics › Re: FG Pays ASUU Half Salary For October by delpee(f): 12:21pm On Nov 04, 2022
othermen:
After nine months, The FG posture is not to help students who have lost a year, to get a better motivated workforce.

The best of their lecturers have resigned and taken on better opportunities abroad.

The ones left would not abandon the means or businesses that have sustained them through the strike.

The full attention of their lecturers is probably forever lost.

The FG would recruit from the large labor market or retired civil servants if they must. You foolishly defend them. No competent individual would take an offer where the employer has reneged on agreement and is willing to sentence the employee to an 9month without a means, for their personal living or those of their dependents.

No competent individual would, when ASUU’s crime has been only to admonish FG on its failure to implement agreements he is a party to

These ones know the FG has no incentive to address any issue in so far NIC has offered itself as an instrument to nullify the ability of ASUU to negotiate change and better conditions on behalf of its members and for students.

And so the universities will continue to deteriorate, unmotivated staffs will be the universities lots, Again, what was the year sacrificed for? not for a return to well equipped laboratories or good infrastructured universities but to deteriorated universities and a workforce whose inner spirit is damaged, susceptible to corruption to augment his livelihood.
You're very much on point....sadly. sad

I'm not sure the country knows what the impact of the brain drain is down the road. When skilled people in the 25 to 45 age range are relocating from the country. You have a lot to deal with. We are very enterprising, intelligent and diligent, once we get to a place and adapt, we become almost unstoppable.
They know but appear helpless.

True. They can relocate to Mowe Town.

The banks have a choice of where to cite their branches though. It's a business decision based on economic considerations and not sentiments. The LG should lobby them to have branches in the town for easy access to everyone.

She did leave. Her people just kept turning her back to her husband's house.

Not a good thing to keep forcing people to where they don't want to be.
Aww! I didn't take note of that. It's enough to drive a woman into temporary insanity. She probably saw him as her source of misery which must be eliminated. Quite sad. sad

Our people need to understand that marriage isn't by force.

I'm a Tech guy planning to immigrate. How do I start? and what do I need to be eligible?
Tech people are doing so well there. Visit Canada.ca. Read up on immigration and citizenship. I think that should guide you. Check other sites too but beware of fraudsters. The government official sites provide enough information. There are helpful and active Canada immigration threads on Nairaland too.

Hope you're under 30 and university educated or with professional certifications.

They're taking the best of our youth (those who choose to apply). They know we're enterprising, intelligent and diligent. All you need is to take some courses to acquaint yourself with their operating systems once you arrive. You may experience a setback for the first 2 years in terms of position but it doesn't take long to catch up once you have Canadian experience.

Nigeria is losing so much. sad

Leave it to your dad. It's his family matter, not yours. Don't cause your parents unnecessary pain and sorrow by dealing with someone who the people and security agency are scared of. What do you want to achieve really?

pls guy tell me what she meant, even me i don't understand
The point is that your mum expects you to be serious with your studies for now. You should concentrate on developing yourself and acquiring meaningful skills instead of spending your pocket money (her hard earned money) on a girl at this stage of your life.

Apologise to her. Stay focused. When you're able to look after yourself and you're mature enough, you'll get the right person. Remember that ladies mature faster than men. Be wise.

The barricade is a nice addition if there are toddlers in the house. Anyone can forget to cover the pool at some point in time.

It's also wise to have a separate entrance for the pool such that it can be viewed from within but access is not direct. I saw something like this in an architects house. Beautiful view from the sitting room but the entrance is through a locked door to a section of the garden/pool area.

No sense of outrage from inebriated agbadorians as usual. Thread still stuck at page one! See no Evil and talk no Evil is the new Agbadorian anthem.
If this happened at Anambra or abia, they will be all over the place splashing tribal saliva left and right.

I don't know what the fulani will do again in the South West for some of you to say enough is enough! They kill for fun, occupy endless villages, send locals to IDP camps in neighboring countries, Yet, my people are smiling and suffering in peace.
It's unbelievable.
Read up on a similar thread on Enugu area which is said to be on "lockdown" by kidnappers. Same thing all over sadly.

Politics › Re: MURIC Kicks As RCCG Allegedly Bars Muslim From Redemption Camp, Demands Prompt I by delpee(f): 8:50pm On Oct 26, 2022
There are Muslims in the RCCG schools in the Camp. There were many Muslims in their University when the Campus was within the Camp. They never complain because they know they have to go by the rules and they comply. The Camp was set up for a purpose with their own funds not public funds. Those who can't comply with their rules should go elsewhere. Same way a non Muslim will not go to a Muslim praying ground if he/she can't comply with their rules. Redeemers do have a right to protect themselves. The Owo attack is still fresh in the mind of Christians.

Aren't there banks in Mowe Town?

WAEC should create a center outside the Camp for easy access.
Travel › Re: Dunchi Lar: NIDCOM Statement About Nigerian Jailed In UAE Over Cybercrime Law by delpee(f): 8:23pm On Oct 26, 2022
naptu2:
I think the reason for the confusion is that the UAE has taken various measures against Africans and so people have mixed them up.

She was not affected by the most recent ban (taken in October). She was affected by a decision taken in August after a fight between groups of Nigerian cultists. The UAE decided that Nigerians below 40 years of age can only come to their country on a family visa. That is, they could only come if they already had family in the UAE.

Some Nigerians got family visas, but they had not family in the UAE, so UAE officials detained them at the airport. She was also detained because her sister was not there to receive her. She made a video of the Nigerians that were detained at the airport and the UAE officials that were detaining them. Her sister subsequently came to pick her and the officials released her to her sister.

However, she had already shared the video on Twitter and so the UAE officials were waiting to arrest her when she was leaving their country.
Thanks for the clarification. I pray that she succeeds on appeal.
