Why can't Aregbesola give the governor peace of mind to govern the State well? I don't understand the need for the meaningless celebration. APC would have lost the state due to the bitterness and anger of the people over the 8 years of hardship they experienced under him. He should allow peace to reign in Osun which had always been peaceful prior to his tenure. It's best to support the Governor on his programs if he loves the people. Intimidation will only aggravate the people more. |
Myhusband:No. It's second home to me because I grew up there and still visit regularly. |
englishmart:Comparison helps no one. Our circumstances are different but never say never. Tomorrow comes with it's own opportunities. Today's bad times may change drastically for good in the twinkle of an eye. We're on earth to fulfill our unique divine purposes. Know yours and build on it to excel. Also there are times and seasons. May we experience the fullness of God's goodness in due season. |
Idiats! They should be tried for cannibalism and roast in jail. Shameless ritualists that they are. No mercy at all for a fellow human being. May all those involved in the killing be caught and dealt with accordingly. Amen How did we degenerate this far? What has this got to do with EndSARS? |
paulolee:Not many people succeed with IVF. That's why we're thankful. |
Congrats to them. God bless the family with all that they need to cater for the kids. May all the children always be sources of joy and blessings unto their parents. Amen |
Rugaria:Just be happy for them. It's a traumatic experience for many. They handled it well and God answered their prayers. |
Well deserved! A very inspiring teacher indeed. |
If this is not part of a movie, I hope he wasn't hypnotised or deceived. This may not end well sadly. |
Terrible leaders that we have now all over the nation! Anyway it's all good if the needs of the masses are met this way provided they're not budgeting outrageous funds for these low level empowerment schemes. Unfortunately, the Senator who was gathering bikes, freezers, sewing machines etc towards December lost all to palliative looters recently. Sometimes a simple donation of "frying pan" as someone stated may be all that a widow needs to get on track to provide for her family. We shouldn't despise humble beginnings especially when done with a good heart and it meets the needs of the people. |
Midas01:So we can't blame Emmanuela. He got what he wanted. Probably he already has a house. |
Dpaulie:I will forever appreciate my late dad for being a good father. A good father will reap bountifully from his labor. Children see how their mothers are treated. They know if their dad cares about the family or not. A man who wants to earn the love and respect of his children will treat them right. It doesn't matter if a man is rich or poor. His disposition towards his family under any condition is what counts. |
Myhusband:There are other places too depending on your taste and interest. There was an Ibadan thread here a while ago. Maybe that can be helpful apart from Google. |
TecM0:I remember that part of the Ajimobi/Ganduje wedding held there. The park was such a beautiful sight to behold. The swimming pool area had some water games where kids had fun. Also tgere were some small boats on the surrounding waters for short rides. The zoo wasn't this bad. I remember feeling happy that it was way better than it was when I was young and had family Easter picnics there. GSM should try to maintain facilities in place even as he adds more. Allowing such a good place to deteriorate isn't hood for the State. This is beyond politics. |
Nwaotu10:Certainly! Confronting the military wasn't easy. It was instilled in us that our destiny was in our hands so we had to be focused on the mission. Students died, some were rusticated and some were jailed. The truth is that things have changed all around. NLC of that era is also a world apart from today's group of leaders who are always seen smiling in photo ops even when they haven't resolved any issue. I remember the dignified leaders of old like Wahab Sunmonu, Frank Kokori and even Adams Oshiomole before he became a politician. |
Suing peaceful protesters in a country where "repentant" BH are pampered. Senator Ndume just revealed that one of them made the recent Damboa attack happen. Meanwhile their surviving victims all over continue to suffer in IDP camps. The baby lawyer didn't sue the identified armed thugs caught on Camera for violence. He didn't see the politicians viewed loading thugs to cause havoc. This is not the best way to get popular. Money isn't everything. If only he understands. |
Igboid:Yes they attend Church on Saturdays. Babcock students do the same. |
BigBashiru:If you read all that has been said by the Military, the Attorney General, Sanwoolu and the protesters very well with an open mind, you'll draw a reasonable conclusion on what happened that night. |
bolaayenimo:Fashola denied receiving pension from LASG a while ago. |
Jostoman:Ambode was a top Civil Servant before becoming Governor. He will still be entitled to pension one way or the other. |
I'd like to know what they gain by being cultists. It's amazing that young men risk their lives fighting each other always. They don't engage in productive activities that can sustain them on a long term basis. No omoluabi sense in them at all. Ko kawe, ko kose, ole lo maa ja gbeyin. (He won't go to school nor learn/take up a trade/vocation, he'll end up being a thief.) That's a Yoruba admonition of old to encourage young ones to be focused on planning for their future. It seems many don't listen now. They're on the fast lane. They forget that "owo ti a ko ba sise fun, kii tojo. Oun ti a ba fi ara sise fun nii pe lowo eni." Also "ile ti a ba fi ito mo, iri lo maa wo." So many wise sayings that shaped our lives back then! Times have changed so much. ![]() |
ADUKKY:Thanks for this! Delighted to know that it's made in Nigeria. Hope we get more of this for stressfree cooking. |
They should stop taking VAT from alcoholic drinks so as to comply fully with Sharia law. Non Muslim areas should be excluded in the application of Sharia law. The Constitution remains supreme. |
Casper21:They're all graduates. I remember that Cuppy made good grades and has a Master's degree. Sometimes people choose to be more focused on their talents and passion. Not all parents insist that their children must be doctors and lawyers the old school way. Falz is a lawyer who should have been preparing to take over his father's chambers. He's happier the way he is and his parents have let him be. Pascal Dozie's son was to manage Diamond Bank to greater heights. He couldn't. Probably because it's more of his dad's wish than his. Diamond is now subsumed under Access Bank . Sometimes we need to allow our children do that which gives them fulfilment. You can correct with love if things go wrong. That gives everyone peace of mind. That's today's world as it is. |
grim33:Misplaced priority indeed. Alcohol is served on Emirate airlines and is available in Dubai for non-Muslims. So many problems affecting lives negatively in the land yet the emphasis is always on personal matters that can be handled at community level. Their life, their choice anyway. Maybe we don't understand them well enough. |
FFK simply wants another term for Trump who is pretending to be a Christian while all his actions and words are so unChristlike. |
Interesting dream. ![]() |
Igboid:Haba! The late Senator Adeleke, Davidos grandpa was a Muslim. His grandma was a Christian....maybe white garment, I don't know. The late Isiaka Adeleke, Davidos uncle was a Muslim. Davidos dad is a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church owners of Babcock University. There's Adeleke Hall built by Deji Adeleke, Davidos dad, in the school. It's a mixed happy family all through. |
I pray this works. Hope the weather down south is favourable for onion farming. |
Very interesting! Black civilisation probably should have been left to develop at its pace. Benin treasures of art speak volumes about the intelligence and beautiful culture of the Binis. I also read about a Queen of Ile Ife who constructed paved roads with potsherds centuries ago. Apart from Western education and Christianity, much of the intervention of the Whites was for their personal and national interest. |
TalkTalkTwins:Sadly, I know some people who have been affected. Someone died last week. A shocking and humbling experience for his family. Please stay safe. |
Congratulations Oye. Great move. God nless and guide you every step of the way. Hardworking young Nigerians are always finding it easier to shine outside our borders. ![]() |
