I could remember the day your mum and dad got wedded at a Baptist Church in Ilorin. I was not there physically but your both parents being NTA staff at the time were accorded Newsline coverage anchored by Frank Oliseh. Rev Dr J.K Ojemola's admonition to your Dad was, " Smart, don't be smart to cheat on your wife Smart, don't be smart to batter your wife..."

CaptainZubi: For about 5 years now I've been battling extreme tiredness . Asides that I sleep alot most especially at afternoons. At night, nonce I sleep around 11pm and not going to work the next day, I can wake up by 10am or 11 am.
During afternoon and night sleeps, the sleep is usually very deep (REM phase or whatever you medics call it, please correct me) and usually characterized by heavy dreams.
Even during work, I'll always take the risk to create some time to have a little sleep. I've been battling this for about 5 years now. What could be wrong. Have you done a thyroid function test? If the organ (thyroid) isn't working well, you can have that kind of problem. It's not a major problem. Treatable with one tiny drug per day. Visit the hospital for proper diagnosis please. May God grant you perfect healing. |

Sometimes when a man takes a decision that is not well received by his parents/siblings, the wife takes the blame. African culture sadly. If Peter stood his ground in support of Jude, Lola wouldn't have had any power to change anything. What I see is this being Peter's choice for whatever reason. |

There are indeed local herbs for fibroids (iju in Yoruba). There's in fact a particular large brownish mushroom known as "olu iju" which has been researched upon. A lecturer in Yabatech did a lot of work on this. There'll be other things known to good traditional medicine practitioners. It's sad that most of these things are not well researched and documented for our use and proper control.
However, in some cases, surgery is still the best option. |

Romance › Re: Marrying An Older Lady? by delpee(f): 10:15pm On Nov 29, 2020 |
sKeetz: I'm dating an older woman. The difference in our ages is just 2 years. She is everything a man can ever dream of.
She's very supportive. Doesn't bother me and let's me do my thing. She doesn't boss me or anything of sorts. She's also very independent, but the only thing that stresses me out is our age difference and it's quite obvious cause i even look quite younger than my age and she's quite matured both physically and mentally.
Are there any cons to marrying a lady that is older? Guys who are married to older ladies, are there any traits i should look out for ?
Ps: we've been dating for 4 years now, so its not like i just met her. So i know everything about her and she knows everything about me. No big deal if you're matured enough to cope. Many have married older women and have no regrets. Everything depends on the people involved. You obviously love her. As long as she respects and loves you, you're good to go. Turn deaf ears to the amebos (tale bearers) and let it be known that you don't care. They'll learn to mind their business and let you be. Your life is yours to be lived to your maximum satisfaction and God's glory. |

thebosstrevor1: Are you damn serious, pls dont make me laugh.
Terrorists hijacked a plane and landed in Niger.
I am still wondering how their stupidity and idealogy driven madness helped in giving free speech.
You don't know what you are writing about I don't believe that the hijack was sensible. However, it was one of a series of many events that eventually led to the collapse of the military regime. A desperate situation often brings about desperate efforts which may not be justifiable. Many years down the line, a new generation of people may have their misgivings about some aspects of the EndSARS protest. Same way you can easily write off this issue. Those who are witnesses of an event will usually understand the circumstances better and analyse from a different perspective. |

Babanah: I know Gen Gowon better than you think. He is a very simple and humble person. We used to meet him at the Christmas party in Dodan barracks in those day near the tennis courts. My father was not a big man in those days.
I remember we used to have the chance to peep into his official car ‘NA 1’ with three stars whenever visits for official ceremonies like festac 2nd all Africa games etc.
Most of the developments in Lagos were initiated by his administration national stadium, national theatre, eko bridge, new Carter Bridge, Lagos badagary express road, trade fair complex, tin can island port, rebuilding of ikorodu road, western avenue, agege motor road, new Ikeja airport later renamed MMA. The list goes on. General Gowon remains the most decent and sincere of Nigeria leaders no doubt.
Nigeria was at its heights during the Gowon regime. Since then every thing has been down hill till today Truly that was the golden era. |

The guy is too young to know. Probably he's assuming based on what he sees happening in Africa now.
Gowon could not have stolen so much money back then. Most of the funds were spent prosecuting the unnecessary war, new infrastructure and reconstruction and resettlement after the war. No loans were taken.
We know how he managed as a student in the UK after the coup until the FG later pardoned him.
Very decent and humble man till today. |

Politics › Re: How Was Gowon Able To Cart Away With Cbn Money From Faraway Kampala? by delpee(f): 7:32pm On Nov 24, 2020 |
Gowon couldn't have stolen so much money. He managed wartime without borrowing. He became an indigent student in the UK where he went to after being overthrown in a coup. I remember his picture taken at Warwick while on a queue to get his food. He's never been flamboyant and he hasn't shown any signs of substantial wealth since then till date. Besides, he would have been investigated and tried all these years. Probably the young MP is confusing him with Abacha who helped us keep our money. |

seborrhic: Maybe a plant on the officer's car by his enemies to get back at him at some of the things he had done in the past, not necessarily that he was the one that murdered them. Trust some Nigerians to pass judgement without knowing all the facts, thought and analysis. Maybe not. The children said the men in red came back later to pick them up but the door was stiff. Maybe it's an abandoned car which was used as a "store" by the kidnappers. They may just be ritualists who found the place convenient for their evil works. The "enemies" may have no part to play in this. The retired officer may also not know about it. |

iLegendd: She did the right thing. If it were me, I won't apologize and I'll do worse and even record another one next time.
These bastard parents of nowadays having more children than they can train are the cause of all these.
The love of unprotected sex by poor parents and poor people is the beginning of too many children and crime.
Being poor is not a crime, but being poor and churning out children you can't train is pure wickedness. Ignorance and lack of exposure is the main issue. Religion and culture also play a role. You can run an enlightenment campaign on this if you feel deeply concerned. You'll surely get sponsors from some International NGOs who are passionate about family planning. Treating a child like that isn't right. She had no part to play in her coming to this world. |

Typical omo oju o rolari! (one who suddenly falls into wealth). The only feeling she has is how to oppress others with the little she has even when she knows how tough it is to be poor. People like this easily throw away their blessings. Givers never lack. Her indiscretion has made her lose an opportunity already.
I hope the little girl is found and placed on the right path to a better life. |
