EducationRe: University Of Ilorin (graduate& Undergraduate)chat Room by Denn(m):
Unilorin...those days in Mini Campus

African Hall, LR, IOT, H block, F Block, PG Block, ABSS building, Zion.

i remember the gym vividly and all the extra-night affairs on the porch. those cuddling and smooching whilst people prayed on Zion less than 10 metres away.

I remember the day DMX was gunned down too in front of the gate....horrid!

girl hostels runs....

days of NITEL Call cards...phone booths near SUB building. Oh SUB Building and the bread and egg 'burgers'.

the days when our DSTV was tuned to CNN and MM action and less of football... you had to be a top exco to hold the remote

Mr Ajayi of Political Science, your plans to make us failures did not work. You gave hundreds of students F in your useless POS111. Mr Badmus of blessed memory, your chocolate coloured mercedes v booth that is always parked at the beer parlour at Unilorin mini campus junction brings faint memories.

Mr Ijaiya, Mr Olaniyi, Dr Taiwo, Mrs (i have forgotten the name of this fine chic lecturer in accounting...my classmate, victor failed her course because he was always drooling at her well set hips and bosoms)

All thanks to the departmental associations and the intense politicking. this taught me a lot on strategy and schematics....election influencing techniques that PDP will cower to learn about....yes elections were 'influenced' and it was done for a long long time... smiley

the days of rivalry between UME and Direct entry...

the days of intense aluta and ambulance burning. Police tear gas and rubber bullets. ...shagaya et al. how shagaya survived and others, including final year medical students got expelled will always remain a mystery.

the days of cybercafes and all night browsing. fortunate restaurant jollof rice. ( i discovered that those ladies at forunate restaurant will sell the same quantity no matter the price you call, so i ask for 60 naira rice and still get same quantity as you ordering 100 naira rice).

Great June 12. bread and beans i hail thee.!!!

zobo united in all ramifications.

i remember our old but functional library. i had great skill at toasting girls in the library....of course not by talking....i write short notes and pass it accross to them. i was good at scribbling poems on-the-go and would quickly compose heart-melting word-soups and pass same to the innocent lady...a smile is all i need and soon her name and hostel number pops up....the rest becomes history. sometimes however, i get a scorn that can send you on exile to soweto. those girls can form upon nothing!

the igi-iwes of the century...those book 'jackers' that can read till even the author slumps from over-repitition. the young lecturers that prefer to rush us through volumes of course materials...they get some of us more confused than composed. thanks to those extra tutorials...some people would have crashed out with less than 1 point CGPA.

sorry for the ramblings....i just missed my school days ni and passed well despite my 'flows'

The NPF as a matter of urgency:
-Withdraw all AK-47 assault rifle issued to ordinary policemen. The AK-47 is an assault rifle. We are not at war.

-Ensure only mobile police men or other assault teams are the people who have a right to use such terminal weapons.

-Issue side arms to officers above a certain cadre. This should be after proper training and psychological analysis.

-Ensure that all cases of unlawful and extra judicial use of force (slaps, verbal abuse, spit, rough handling, undue detention, shots, hits etc) is met with strict and severe sanctions.

berem: The car is very strong o! Imagine the container falling on a plastic car like KIA. Both the car and the driver won't come out alive. grin
Who told you Kia is 'plastic'?

Justify why you think a Kia Rio 2013 is not as strong as the Nissan Almera 2013 (both cars have the same size and the Almera is the car driven by the Chinese lady)

Give verifiable references and stop using beer parlor jargons.

I drive a Rio and use a sunny at work and can tell you a kia is not less safe.

I had an accident involving the A pillars of a kia Rio last year. The vehicle drove almost under a trailer and the shell was still intact. The pillars were made with full strength and hardened steel/aluminum and not plastic

A little bit of economics.....bandwagon theory.

If you own a business in Nigeria, just pray that the bandwagon does not swing against you because no amount of logic and advert will be able to win back your customers....

Shina Peters, IBB, ST Soap, dadawa seasoning, aji no moto, etc all have these in common
Car TalkRe: Why Do Nigerians Avoid Diesel Cars When Buying A Vehicle? by Denn(m): 6:37pm On Sep 21, 2013
the quality of diesel in nigeria is always questionable...even at fuel stations.

secondly, how many auto mechs can properly maintain a diesel engine in nigeria?

the cost of a car is minimal compared to its cost of maintenance......

FINALLY! BBM is going cross platform for real and will be available to Android users on September 21 and iPhone users on September 22!

After what seemed like months of waiting, BBM will finally be going cross-platform this week. In just a few days, Android and iOS users will be able to download and use BBM including chats, groups and file sharing with other features (including BBM Channels) to be added later this year. Users will be assigned a unique PIN just as BlackBerry users have had in the past.

BBM will be available as a free download for Android users running ICS and Jelly Bean starting at 7am on September 21st. iPhone users will be able to download BBM on iOS 6 and iOS 7 starting at 12:01AM on September 22nd.

Keep reading for the full press release.

Press Release

WATERLOO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Sept. 18, 2013) - BBM(TM) - the iconic mobile social network - will begin rolling out for Android(TM) and iPhone(R) customers around the world from September 21. Previously exclusive to BlackBerry(R) (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSX:BB) smartphones, BBM will be available as a free download in Google Play(TM) and the App Store(SM). Customers will be able to download BBM by visiting www.BBM.com from their smartphone browser.

BBM gives you a private social network for active, real conversations.

It's immediate. BBM is always on so you are always connected. And because messages on BBM are typically delivered and read within seconds, it's the closest thing to a live conversation.
You trust it. BBM always tells you that messages are delivered and read. BBM conversations come alive on a private network you can count on.
You control it. BBM allows you to choose your contacts and how you share your information. BBM uses a PIN so you don't have to give anyone your phone number or email address.
"BBM is a very engaging messaging service that is simple to use, easy to personalize and has an immediacy that is necessary for mobile communications," said Andrew Bocking, Executive Vice President for BBM at BlackBerry. "With more than a billion Android, iOS, and BlackBerry smartphones in the market, and no dominant mobile messaging platform, this is absolutely the right time to bring BBM to Android and iPhone customers."

BBM for Android and iPhone features:

BBM Chat - Enjoy real, immediate conversations with friends on Android, iPhone and BlackBerry smartphones. Not only does BBM let you know that your message has been delivered and read, it also shows you that your friend is responding to the message.

More than chat - With BBM you can share files on your phone such as photos and voice notes, all in an instant.

Keep your group in the loop - Multi-person chats are a great way to invite contacts to chat together. BBM Groups lets you invite up to 30 friends to chat together, and go a step further than multi-chat by sharing photos and schedules. And, with Broadcast Message, you can send a message out to all your BBM contacts at once.

Post Updates and stay in the know - BBM lets you post a personal message, profile picture and your current status, and lets your contacts know instantly in Updates.

Your unique PIN - Every BBM user has a unique PIN that maintains your privacy, so you don't have to give out your phone number or email address to a new or casual contact.

BBM will be available as a free download for Android smartphones running Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean (Android 4.x) beginning at 7AM EDT on September 21. BBM for iPhones running iOS 6 and iOS 7 will become available for each market on the App Store schedule of 12:01 AM local time on September 22. For more information, or to download BBM for Android or iPhone, visit www.BBM.com.

BBM will continue to evolve quickly. Later this year, BBM Channels will provide a forum for active, real conversations between you and the people, brands, celebrities, artists, service providers, communities and more, that matter to you. By creating a Channel, individuals and brands can engage their friends and communities in conversations sparked by their thoughts, ideas and passions. Subscribing to a Channel will let you join conversations with people who share your interests. In addition, BBM Video calling and BBM Voice calling are planned for availability for Android and iPhone in a future version.

dsaynt: first of all the Z30 would be available from the 23rd of sept 2013 (the UK...pre order) and I'm sure Naija would get theirs a couple of weeks after that.
Secondly and more importantly the OFFICIAL 10.2 would be available for download from the 2nd week of october. So for those of us that are scared of leaks (me include) thats a welcome development.
Now to the issue of BBM that is gonna be avaialbel from the 21st of Sept to both andriod and iOS, if u wanna move to those platforms thats your choice but I still prefer the BB experience, hub and all. I don't like teh iOS restrict environment and Andriod to me is a secondary phone (better than Apple but not as good as the BB in my opinion). There are some tempting Android phones out there I must say...like the HTC One...but I'd remain a BB person at heart still.
As for the guy that was commenting on malware cos of headless apps on the new 10.2....I highly doubt that. The BB10 OS is not malware prone like andriod OS so its really difficult to get into it.
Guys any thoghts on the new iPhone 5s? more of the same phone with a new gimmick of a touch sensor....as for the iPhone 5c...thats a a laugh....its an iPhone 5 in many colours not a new phone.
What else can i say...exciting days ahead for us...gadget lovers
Nice summary of events hitting the BlackBerry World.

I also like your analysis as regards android and ios.

Ios is not an option IMHO due to the 'restrictions ' already highlighted.

I currently run BlackBerry 10.2 and we still do not have headless apps

Malware is able to run in the background on android cos it's headless, that was what fuelled my curiosity.

cupid4ig: pls we are tired of discussing this same issue if u want to get android good luck u can dash ur z10. To ur bro or sis or even someone in ur street and believe me the person will forever be grateful. U guys talk as if someone forced. U to buy bb. Pls we are here to talk about issue and learn about the new os and nlt about who want buy iphone abi android.
You are simply rude.

Who is or are the 'we' that is tired of discussing BlackBerry 10 issues?

If you are really here to learn more about the OS, then I believe you should have heard BBM is going cross platform in few hours. This is key to BlackBerry and you still find discussions active on BlackBerry forums worldwide on this.

If you can't handle opinions different from yours, then run away from a public forum. Stop acting like an Alec.

@walcom, thanks for the sane response.

My dear BlackBerry 10 pals,

Now that BBM will be available on android, can someone please give me just one good reason why I should still keep my z10?

Here are my facts:
Android has more practical apps
BlackBerry does not have the edge with security again as there is no BIS security for BlackBerry 10. The only edge remains with BES and that's not for the everyday user.
Once we have headless apps that can run in the background on BlackBerry 10, it will be evident that malware and other Android plagues will hit the BlackBerry 10 too
The new Z30 has little to offer as compared to the new galaxy note.
Why the useless price drops on these BlackBerry 10 phones, I bought my Z10 above 100k, now this same phone is around 60k....same ish happened with the playbook. how much will I be able to sell this phone when I want to? I bought the first galaxy 10.1 at 110k and was able to sell it for 80k long after....can I say same for BlackBerry?

I need answers
Christianity EtcRe: Pastor J Reacts To Pastor Biodun's Sex Scandal by Denn(m): 11:49am On Aug 31, 2013
A pastor is a shepherd.

His purpose is to lead the flock.

A lot of people's faith hinge on a pastor's faith

Silence cannot be golden as regards accusations about pastors.

He should have been strong enough to address this matter on the first opportunity.

It is normal for blinded followers to defend what/who they support at all times irrespective of the evidence against them (classic case of football fanaticism and NL tribal warlords)

This is a lesson to all that the world is a global village and Nigeria is just a street therein. The Internet is no joke and twitter is not compassionate; neither nairaland or Facebook or Linda & co.

Where are these guys that title themselves as journalists? Which investigative journalism have they done in this regards? The world is not only about copy and paste

You don't understand a car, yet you want us to term it problematic?

I bought a brand new kid Rio last year and I will 'categorically tell you' that it is a wonderful brand.

The company has an after-sales support in Nigeria that is superb.

The cars have very simple engine set ups and I have experienced no issues whatsoever.

Washing only the body of ANY car will not cause a failing ignition...maybe the car wash boy or the owner or somebody in that trail is not telling the truth.

I have colleagues using the new kid optima and I can assure you it's a good deal for the money.

If you are buying a kia, get a recent version and u will forever enjoy it

a hands on review of 'trying' to open the account and possible hitches or benefits should be evident by now....
