Islam › Re: Muslim Singles, Let Us Have A Talk by deols(op):
snubish: asalaam-alaykum-wa-ramatullah-wa-barakatuh! wow, wot can i say. engaging thread indeed. i don,t usually post on social forums but this is too tempting, even though nl seemed visually clumsy, i couldn't help registering to post on this one. this dude that was on the thread for 14hrs: my guy se u no miss salat during dat time sha unto say, u no go get valid excuse o. many exciting personalties on the thread mukina2: i,ll call you the wise old woman, are u sure u,re not married? ur posts are so matured i,m sure u're al least 25yrs, and deols: intelligent head and fiesty at heart, we say u,re the madam of the house. poor maclatunji: (queer username) u will be mostly alone in this lifetime, the upright brother who wants to change the world and put some order into all the chaos around us, wish u luck man, believe me i know how u feel. and last but not least; toba: crazy funny dude, u seem to be extremely socially sophisticated, running things on a muslim thread for so long, bros u gat the flos man isn,t it funny how much u can reveal about yourself unknowingly on an internet forum without the pretence and inhibition of real life confrontation. i may be wrong though, but u guys still make interesting read. i may not post on this thread again but i,ll surely peep in to see wassup occasionally, so i may as well jus contribute my quota of attributes i would admire........ we all know the fundamentals by now: religion(deen),then family, then wealth, and lastly beauty. of course this is just meant as a summary to guide. a mumin must be practical in their affairs, u don,t want to use the excuse of allowed polygamy 3months after nikkah, and remember that Allah subhanawatalah hates divorce. for example ladies, would u marry a man having several obligations and barely able to take care of his own self just because of his deen while u were not desperate? the point is balance in decision making. me, in addition to the fundamentals i mentioned above, i would feel most fulfilled with someone sppp'
imilar to me particularly in temperament. a family is a place where each individual is supposed to develop to their highest potential, and this would not be possible in an environment where there is a lot of conflict. you can google briggs personalty types to get a better grasp, sometimes opposites are compatible. i would also want someone with something in the head or i,ll be bored in a week, so education; no compromise(level of, depends on other factors). this is not vanity but practical personal and social conclusions. u don,t want to go out alone all the time because you wife is not able to communicate with others. then looks, average would be just fine. i have this grade a, b, and c thing i do, as i have put myself in grade b, then b would be just fine for me. i want a wife and mother for my sires not a trophy. i also do this spiritual, mental, physical balance check but that,s just a queer distraction. but lest i forget, one of the most important qualities i look for is resourcefulness and contentment. i,m sorry to reveal that i,m yet to know on close terms a content Nigerian woman, maybe it,s me attracting the wrong people and all that but that is what i observed. i,m not saying a woman should not be ambitious, but moderately so. the women i know want to drive brand new beamers, vacation in london, and shop in paris. and if they don,t have this there,s this perpetual sadness that follows them around. Allah subhanawatala is the One Who gives wealth in His Own time, so Nigerian ladies, learn some patience and appreciate a hardworking honest man. but i do not blame them, if u,re not wealthy in this country with no social benefits, then u may be just poor o, while politicians will be running around with people's daughters in flashy cars. so in a nutshell these are my personal preferences; and as i currently make less than 100k monthly, i am not even trying to search o. i know myself and the kind of family lifestyle i want, maybe i,ll change sometime but for now sha......... big ups to y'all, may Allah subhanawatala give us success in this life and the next. ma salaam.
wow! U must av spent more than 14 hrs? Cos u captured it all it seems. I thnk u shld kno though that at d time ds thread started there were other very interestn threads and the responses here were a reflection of d emotions flying around. Dats byegone anyways.

U sound like u know exactly wat u want. Dat takes some level of maturity too. But i dont thnk u need to av it all to start a family especially considern ur type of woman. Wat about waitn to av children?

Hmmn!I had to check d diffrnt meanings to d word feisty and I find it a complement smiley

Islam › Re: Am Confused*what Do I Do by deols(f): 4:09pm On Jun 02, 2012
well, Islam allows polygamy but I think u should assess your situation and see if you can deal with having a co wife. In essence, a rival. You shouldnt forget also that for him to marry you as no. 2 he could go for 3 nd 4. If u wld be able to deal wiv all dat comes wv dat, then go ahead. Am afraid though that u're in fear already. I always believe that once in doubt, there's no need going through the troubles

second, extramarital sex is one of the major sins in Islam. You should avoid that. If he needs you to be pregnant before going through the rights, he's probably in need of you as a baby maker. Try find out what is wrong with the first wife.

Be careful o. I pray the best happens to you.

Islam › Re: Are Atheists Allowed In Mosques? by deols(f): 3:55pm On Jun 02, 2012
yes! U'r allowed. The prophet allowed non Muslims in the mosque. These are one of the issues that point to d tolerant nature of Islam and of his prophet(S.A.W)
Islam › Re: Barka Juma'ah by deols(f): 3:34pm On Jun 02, 2012
back as promisd. I got d following from d sermon.

The Imam enjoined us to

1. Be forgiving(he told d story of the prophet and the people of abyssinia and how angel Jubril asked to destroy them after they stoned the prophet. He (S.A.W) forgave them.

2. Be patient (he enjoined us to imbibe this in Solaat as some pple rush to perform it thereby losing rewards)

3. Be wise when dealing with matters(he called it 'iwoye soro' and d above is d best translation I could come up with)

4. Give the following people their due rights
a. Family members
b. Fellow Muslims
c. Neighbours
he further explained how a Muslim family member gets a bigger right than a non Muslim one. And a Muslim neighbour who's also family gets it higher. I hope everyone gets d drift wv d above example.

5. To love others as yourself

I just want to add that I saw the baby on newsline, on NTA. it appeared very real to me or how else could anyone explain that lil boy holding on to the book and even rubbing it on his face without it falling? and all of the people involved were interviewed. These include the owner of the church where the boy's birth took place.

still, Allahu a'lam

Amalaaba: How do you get your very busy wife to complete her prayers daily?
Her prayers are her personal business.Encouraging her on it is laudable.

Salaat is one act of worship that should never be compromised. She needs to find time for it and you can talk to her about it.

I'm guessing made in china perhaps.

other tiny korans are on google.

Islam › Re: Polygamy Clause In Marriage Contract by deols(f): 8:00pm On May 27, 2012
well, I see situations where the wife isnt necessarily the one who doesnt want to lose her spouse. A man may want to keep his wife too, dumping the intruder{wife no2) immediately the wife brings forth the clause.

Many women I know wouldnt also stay with a man who doesnt wanna keep them, who doesnt see them as priority. The clause gives her an easy way out.
Education › OYO State Education Summi - A Good Move. by deols(op): 12:17pm On May 26, 2012
Written by Nan Thursday, 24 May 2012
Former Head of State, Retired Gen. Yakubu Gowon, has hinged the challenges facing the education sector on misplacement of values.

Gowon, who spoke in Ibadan yesterday at the education summit organized by the Oyo State government, said parents must pay more attention to the education of their wards.

He also called on parents to complement learning in schools by teaching good virtues to their children at home through exemplary behaviour.

Gowon said parents must take time to assist their children in their home work rather than allow them waste precious time watching home video.

He said teaching and learning were the key factors to human development, adding that every child must be given the benefit of education in the country.

Gowon, who was the chairman of the summit, decried the state of infrastructure in schools across the country.

He said dilapidated classroom structures coupled with lack of teaching materials had discouraged pupils and students from learning.

The former head of state recalled that the Universal Primary Education (UPE) scheme was established by his government because of the shortage of teachers in public primary schools at the time.

'Because of my passion for education, my government did everything possible to encourage education in the country,'' he said.

Gowon, however, said government must invest adequately in education and provide incentives that would make teaching attractive.

In a keynote address, Prof Afolabi Oldapo, former Head of Service of the Federation, said government must invest adequately in the education sector.

He argued that free education could not produce quality education, noting that education could only be meaningful when people pay for it. Ajimobi, on his part, explained that the summit became necessary because of the backward state of education in the state.

He said the state, which used to be in the forefront of education in the country, took the 34th position out of 36 states in the WAEC-organized examination for 2011.

The governor said the state would soon establish its own technical university to provide openings for youths yearning for tertiary education. (NAN
