Things are changing. It is a pity many educated persons on this forum are fighting over PDP and APC aspirants. The moderators are not left out because many of them have soft spot for the major aspirants. No wonder they are biased in moderating this forum

I believe things are changing like you said, but I tell you, only a few of the electorates are going to cast their voted without the bias for party and the giveaways they receive from politicians. To those people, debated matter less but more of self gratification is what they are guided by or what decides for them.

The question here is simple, which election has been won on the basis of the quality of the facts, figures and performance of the contestants during all previous debates? non that I can remember, the reason for this is simple, it is because the majority of the electorates are the less informed and are only guided in their choice by the candidates with the highest giveaways during the electioneering. the informed electorates don't vote in this country, all we so is rant on social media, so these debates are mere entertainment sessions and it does not determine a thing.

1. He is getting enough security votes which he and his cronies are feeding fat upon.
2. The harm is not experienced by him, so he only reads the news like every other Nlders of which he can be easily nonchalant like any other person.

The rate at which beer is consumed in the north you will be amazed but in their hypocrisy they form sharia in the public. I just wish we restructure and some ill minded States won't benefits from the proceeds of what they claim to frown at. Hisbah police should go and raid governor Gandollar and stop him from collecting kick backs, or sharia supports proceeds of corruption?

Well here is what happened

As far back as 2010...govt could see that subsidising fuel would not be sustainable, hence the increase in price in 2012 from 65 to N140.

Nigerians portested....so prices went down to N97. At the time,landing cost was N99.

Landing costs increased, paying subsidy became unsustainable from2013.....and by 2015....landing cost was N132. Fuel was N87.

Bubu did two things

1.Ended importation by marketers,except for NNPC

2.Increased prices.

BUT...we still have subsidy claimsleft over from before the price increase...which Bubu is still paying off.

Also, landing costs are icnreasing.Right now...fuel is at N180 as landing cost. We pay N145 at the pump (N142 in some staitons).

So, subsequently....subsides must be paid...or fuel would cost N200 and more.

As for refineries...it isn't just fixing them...we need at least 4 new ones. Apart from Dangote...to meet domestic needs.

And since one new one costs $9bn (our reserve is $43bn. 4 refineries cost $36bn...spending our reserve would have bad news for our economy)....we have to attract investors. And the only way to do that is...by removing subsidy completely. IE govt stops setting prices, stops paying subsidy...and fuel would shoot up to N200 and above.

Two questions for you, why did APC and PMB claimed subsidy was a scam and nothing of such was being paid, hence occupy NG, wasn't that deceit? and secondly, if NNPC are the sole importer for most of the products how come independent marketers still have reasons to claim subsidy and NNPC and PPRRA confirm the claims as genuine? lastly, if our foreign reserve is $43b why are APC going about claiming to want to get our refineries working despite knowing that we don't the required funds? is this not another of their special propaganda and deceitful way of governance?

Nigeria is a peculiar case in that our fuel consumption is not solely for vehicles but also for individual and commercial power generation seeing as electricity is very poor in our country and fixing that problem is a dream that might never come to pass in our lifetime.

Saving money for our refineries will require a whole lot of things to work together, global oil prices increase, other sectors of our economy pulling their weight in revenue generation and we actually using the funds for the purpose intended.

Your third question is a million dollar question, ideally if the system was sane, we would feel the effects in things like free healthcare, free or improved education, good roads (personally I love good roads, they give peace of mind..lol), constant power etc. At that time you won't care who is in power so far the system works and you reap what you sow into it. But that is a pipedream in our wonderful country.

God bless you, you really got my perspective. on the increased consumption, the astronomical increase can barely be justified,because the manufacturing sector has not increased but on the contrary they reduced. so we can infer that the APC govt are only scamming us in that regards. on the refineries, yes the global oil price is obvious but the excess they got from the cost increase of PMS if they are sincere, will go a long way, but again, they are liars and crooks that are only about transferring their irresponsibility unto someone else.

APC and scam are inseparable. First they claimed subsidy is non existent and that GEJ and co are only stealing the funds, we the gullible went and occupy Nigeria. Finally they came to power and told us that if we allow them increase pump price, that in six months, our refineries will be fully operational and competition among the marketers will drive down the cost of PMS, boom they increased from #97-145. only for them to go about claiming to be paying 10X the value of subsidy to marketers despite all their claims.
my questions are the following,
1. Has our population increased so much? that we now utilize such volume of PMS within the period.
2. What happened to the money they claim they will save so as to get our refineries working, after all it is almost 3yrs now and no refinery is working more than at 25% capacity?
3. if our Budget increased from 4.2tr under GEJ to 8.8tr, please how has this reflected on our lives as ordinary citizens trying to survive on the streets?
someone should please enlighten me

The party is working for APC, so they know that having Jerry Gana as their candidate will split a few thousand vote in the north central. For everything it is worth, I will choose Atiku/Obi 10x ahead of Buhari, this Administration of excuses, blame games and propaganda has done nothing but harm to Nigerians. if they say PDP is corrupt, they should also tender audited report of NNPC n NLNG for the past 3yrs then have been in power.
Fresh air is what I crave rather than lying tongues of APC
