ChuksCodar: i know thanks for your response God bless you i did but it has no been seen my main problem is that the package is not tracking Based on my experience sending things via post office to Nigeria has to be supported with serious prayers o and you have to be patient. I have not sent stuff from the US before, but i have done a couple from China, some are trackable up till it leaves their country ,others are trackable even on Nipost website, while some are not even trackable at all. I will advice you to wait till after a month and keep visiting the post office in your area until you receive it. The good thing with mine is that i have not lost any parcel till date, once it arrives they put a notification slip in my post office box to notify me that my parcel has arrived and should come and collect |

I guess he or she still does. It is not compulsory, but i guess it would go a long way to show that you are prepared. What the budget sheet does is to let the visa officer interviewing you know that you are adequately prepared and had thought and calculated how much everything would cost you and that you can afford it |

Atdor: Thanks for the respond dere5. But the Dr I got in oakbend ask me too pay a deposit of 600dollars before I can be given an appointment letter . And was told if I don't use them there will be no refund of my money. Hian! $600 kwanu,it use to be free o,then it went up to $300,now it's $600.God help us o,that's almost 280-290K in Naira . I won't advice you to pay it o,since you are not planning to use him, except you are, then,it will be deducted from your final bill. What i would advice you to do is read this thread thoroughly with a pen and jotter and take down as much Dr and hospitals email address as possible and keep firering those email and I'm sure that before long you will get an unconditional reply that you can use for your interview and POE ? GOODLUCK |

Atdor: Hi every one am new on this forum and I appreciate all comments raised so far. I can hardly digest all from 1-4. Got to know about this forum late.
Pls my question is , my flight is next week, Houston to be precise. Pls am seriously in need of a Doctor and hospital at Katy , cos my host stays at Katy.
I seriously need an appointment letter from a Doctor at Katy cos i believe I might need it at POE. Pls help a sis . Even if I have to pay in advance. Your doctor's correspondence doesn't have to be from a Dr in Kathy,it could be from a Houston Dr as well and you can port to Katy.. Texas is the most used state on this thread ,so your getting a letter from a Dr & hospital in Texas shouldn't be a big deal |

Afi7naira: sabi mamas and papas please I want to ask.... before that let me say wow they is sooooo much info here i have barely slept and there's still alot unread!! Thank you all
1) if you are self sponsoring (business owner) is it necessary to add hubby's accounts etc for the visa application? what docs replace employment letter, leave letter, intro letter etc 2) I am modifying a budget sheet from from from part 1--- its seem similar to that of part 2 so is it okay or do i need to use exact costs from hospital? 3)is it advisable to pay a deposit to the hospital before visa application? are they any hospitals that refund fully if visa refused? when is the ideal time to apply? 4) has anyone use es para ti documents for visa application lately?part 1 and 2 seem to suggest that VOs dont like it very much
Please can anyone assist with a respond- Thank you I see that no one has attempted to answer you,so let me try: 1) I don't think it's absolutely necessary to add your husband's statements of account if you are sponsoring yourself ,afterall single women sponsor themselves. Add Documents that show that you are the owner of the business etc 2) In your budget sheet you will need to use the exact cost from hospital & doctor to match with your doctor' & hospital correspondence and you will also adjust the exchange rate to reflect present rate.. 3) It is not compulsory to pay a deposit to the hospital, flow with your heart, some VO see it as an act of desperation, while others see it as an act of seriousness ,no fast rule here.. some hospitals don't refund 100%,they make some deductions before refund. 4) People still use the Dr esparati, i have not read that Vo had any issues with them lately . I hope i have been able to help. All the best in your quest. |

MissHunnyBerry: Hello people. I can't believe I've been reading this thread since PT 1. Goes without saying I'm no where near done yet. But so far, I only saw one place this was talked about in the previous thread but if it's been mentioned a lot more I haven't reached there yet. But why are we so few considering birthing centers? I mean they are cheaper and you still get your baby's citizenship but more importantly for me I really really want to experience water birth. Which we no dey do for hia.Who and who have tried it and what was the experience like? Looking into some birthing centers already and seen inclusive packages for about 4500 and yes there's a diff between them and hospital births but my friend who is a licenced medical doctor in the states even thinks for an uncomplicated pregnancy they are a very very safe and less expensive option to have your baby. They even have pain relief alternatives to epidurals. And some centers even offer VBAC. If you do not have gestational diabetes, not carrying twins, or any other infection or complication as such I say why not? Biko who's in the same boat o Most people don't consider birth centers here because of the uncertainty and complications associated with it. If by mistake God forbid complications occur you are on your own o,the person will have to be rushed to the hospital and at the end be slammed with some outrageously high bill, so at the end you are in a deep mess instead of saving money, na gbese. But if you say you have a birth center that has covered all these concerns, then all the best. Pls come back to give us update o |

bigfido: from what i have noticed, VO don't even like hearing about car importation and selling business. I think i read it in one of the previous threads. If you need to prove that you have money to pay for your trip, kindly put that money where you are sure won't raise questions. Money for buying and selling cars should actually be in a company account if it is a business. i might be wrong thou. try and look up previous threads Give the Vo both statements and explain to them . I know people that got visas solely by telling the vo that they are travelling to the US to buy cars and other goods eg supermarket groceries to sell in Nigeria and they got visas without any qualms |

Another question is that i booked Etihad airways , and i just read in this post that i would be interviewed in Dubia? It got me worried..thanks oh am so sorry this is not the right post ..i just realized... You can still use your visa to travel and buy good to sell. Be truthful if asked about your wedding, just tell them the truth that the wedding has been shifted. If you are flying Etihad, your POE will be at Abu Dhabi not Dubai |

MrYagi: Dear Nlanders Please kindly weigh in on this. How does one proof to the CBP officers that one is headed for say houston/Elpaso when one shows up at Newyork POE. Also can someone just buy the local flight tickets from say Southwest or Jetblue after clearing with CBP or it is a MUST to book the local flights from NY to Houston/Elpaso even before leaving Naija..How does one go about this local flight thingy..please those who have experience in this angle should help clear this grey areas
I am also looking for Pocket friendly tickets to NY for tomorrow..any hints/help will be appreciated A good way of proving to the CBP officers at New York POE that you are going to Houston is to book Lagos -New York- Houston,so that you already have your ticket and boarding pass to show them that Houston is your final destination when thy ask at New York,. It will also be advisable to have hospital and doctor's correspondence and accommodation booking or a Houston address handy to show. Yes you can buy a local ticket in New York the morning of your arrival, but that's not a wise thing to do because it will cost you X2 or X3 of what it would have cost you if you had bought it in Naija like 2/3wks before trip. You can use your Naija ATM/Debit card to buy local ticket from Southwest ,I've tried it and it worked for me. You can try Wakanow for cheap tickets, but i seriously doubt if you will get any cheap tickets for tonite or tomorrow |
