In the media, you'd hear 'Farmers-Herdsmen' clash when in reality, it is Fulani militia, attacking sleeping indigenous farmers in vehicles and motorcycles worth millions, with ammunition worth millions, even in this petrol high cost and scarcity.

It's almost a billion naira operation against farmers whose family thrive in their own lands through agriculture. They drive this people away and take over the lands. The surviving farmers and their surviving family members end up in IDP camps.

What is the reason? It can't be all that cattle. There is too much greenery in Nigeria to go round. Could it be mineral resources? So they can mine it without disturbance? If that is the case, only a matter of time before they make a play for crude oil.

The big question is, how did such wholesome and repeated movement of ammunition and vehicles elude the security forces who are so sensitive, they even bust petty thieves hiding their tiny steals amongst huge piles of 'rubbish'? Do these forces look the other way? Are they advised to look the other way?

What does it matter who he supports? He did air his support for Tinubu due to tribe at one point but that's not what this is about.

His posts show he was a vile person. His posts show he was always on Igbo necks. Isn't that part of what the RONU was about? Reno is not supporting the Yoruba candidate but you can't absolve him of Igbo hate either. End of discussion.

You APC supporters should not always be looking for how to make everything because of Tinubu please. Take a damn break!

I had to look the quoted person and I saw what Chymaker said and more. I also saw that the late fellow found it so easy to turn on the guy who helped him get settled in Canada when the RONU whistle blasted off.

I personally have no opinion on this since I have no experience of him. It pays to be a nice person as much as you can be.

So some customers who came to buy stuffs that day heard Tinubu was coming and quickly mobilized to protest against him but the information leaked and within 30 seconds, the barracks was called to deploy men there.. 🤔

Area boys left their usual stand and climbed upstairs to go about the plan they had made..which was to possibly ambush the vehicles using Parachutes, but then, the information leaked and within 30 seconds, the barracks was called to deploy men there.. 🤔

Sure that makes more sense and sounds more believable than traders who would normally be up there od down there; wherever their shops are everyday and had all the time in the world to plan whatever at any day and any time of the day. 😒

A mild drama played out on Friday as residents of Lagos Island and traders of the popular Idumota market expressed dissatisfaction with President Bola Tinubu, shouting in Yoruba, “Ebi npa wa oo” meaning- we are hungry.

The traders who filed on both sides of the road as the convoy of the president passed through the ever-busy market, refused to hail him but instead kept talking of their pains believed to have been caused by the government.

Underneath the complaining voices in the video, residents were heard saying the presidency had known the plans of the people which was the reason for the heavy security. However, the alleged initial plan was not made known.

Seun, I'm not sure if you will read this, but eventually if you do, take this advice to heart if you can. (I agree that Nairaland is understaffed. There some moderators I see listed in some sections that haven't been on Nairaland in a while. However, twice in the politics section, I unveiled the Rare Gem moniker to be behind at least 5 other monikers but nothing was done about it till date)

Ban anyone you need to ban! This forum is in dire need of sanity from bigots of all sides. We've had Nairalanders gloat over marginalization and killings of Northerners and others on this forum. We've had Nairalanders ascribe all sorts of obscene names and characters to the South Easterners. We've had Nairalanders launch all manner of attacks on the South Westerners. These are just for the 3 major tribes in Nigeria. There are more.

What I would advise is you step back from direct hands-on management of this forum. Forgive me if that is already in play, but make it clear, who is/are running the place. Whenever you need to come in, let it be as a mediator, as a reset button, not as 'one of them'. Give your subordinates a clear order to extinguish Tribalism by all means.

If someone was caught hurling tribal slurs, there is no need to look for the source or who started it first, banish such person! There is evidence. Let them take their madness elsewhere or continue here in decency. I won't mind offering my services to sanitize this place of such foolery day on day. I'm sick of it. Such persons are like Trojan Horses. They may be contributing to the traffic of this place, but they are also behind the festering rot beneath.

The elephant in the room is: Is Nairaland ready to do without the revenue that tribalism fetches? It is a very lucrative business.

I remember a Nairaland without this volume of hate dating back to 2009. Change is constant, yeah. However, I doubt this was what you saw when you looked towards 2023 from that time. Let your management share and believe in your dreams. I'm a school teacher. I've been sharing classrooms and staff rooms with people from all corners and tenets of Nigeria. I'm as detribalised as they come. If you need a hand to help with the sanitization, I can spare a few hours per day to help no matter whose ox is gored.

Meanwhile, let me read through this thread and compile the list of people that will be expelled for a start 😡😁
