So the question is why is 'the nigerian company' suppling more bandwith or whatever you call it, to ghana, even though the demand is here in nigeria Nigerians are paying more, BTW MainOne is not exactly most nigerian companies, How many other nigerian companies supply Ghana? and how do we know ghana doesnt have investment in MainOne, these sort of companies that goes through different countries have local companies chipping in money What happened to all those satellites snapping pictures in the sky ![]() |
conventional wisdom say get your own house but sometimes its just not practical financially or otherwise some people have houses in the 'village' (insert your definition) but they live in the city- lagos, abuja etc these houses rarely generate any income, perhaps it's an assest that is appreciating(really?) and hey you're with the joneses, you sef you be landlord for osogbo some people go on holiday to naija and rarely visit thier own house outside lagos, i mean they grew up in lagos have friends and business there I guess you can get some sort of loan on these houses, when you need cash for business. |
You dont have to be a millionaire in some countries to live a decent well fulfilled life!! Whats the point of being a millionaire in say Somalia or Zimbabwe at the moment? |

Its all to do with town planning, most nigerian cities are not planned and those that are, the plans are not strictly adhered to, residential areas mixed with commercial and religious and sports areas nowadays almost everyone has a shop in front of their house selling one thing or the other, some even sell the same thing- mainly alcohol attracting noise and high humnan traffic and you know what comes with that in cities where waste management is poor Back in the days VI used to be mostly residential now its a fully blown commercial area with headquarters etc atleast its was built 'properly' in the Nigerian context, but sometimes when you think of the ports, airports, etc planned for that axis of the state you wonder what it will be like in the future for residents, Some estates for example due to their design/plan still prevents lawlessness, speeding, noise pollution compared to other areas if there are more regulations (enforced) protecting residential district from ebing swamped and overtaken by commercial, mixed social areas we can have better cities and of course better waste/traffic management!!! |
Isnt there a way Hospitals can treat critical ill patient and recover the money from the Govt? I think medical insurance should be made compulsory and these capitalist model for healthcare should be thrown out for good! Seems some hospital doctors motto: is surely you cant get money off someone that is dead, wont it be better to save his life then make sure they recover the cost this country sef |
I think the FG should set 2013 as the deadline to the importation and 2014 for the sale of normal light bulbs |
The thing is states have an almost bottomless pot of cash to throw around as an instrument to buy support=votes etc etc second thing is our businessmen; God bless their little brains are into quick cash business, they are not tuned into long term complex business that involved logistics, strategy and fairness, i mean how many nigerian business pay salary on time, criticism is not also in their DNA and you know how football fans are Govt business is big business |

tanimola22: What do most people really work for if not for money? Unfortunately, that is why the world is competitive more than ever before. People gravitate towards anything that will eventually give them a much better life. I have no problems with that as I strongly believe that if one is competitive enough, even though some half baked people try to inundate one's profession, one would still triumph; one would still be preferred to those half baked intruders. This is my view. In fact, I may pursue further graduate studies in systems engineering if I so desire. I believe everything boils to one's ability of being able to do many different things at the same time. Many of the greatest physicists and mathematicians were also philosophers and what have you. Most people work for money quite alright, unfortunately many of them cant do the work that pays these salaries, perhaps one of the reason why they chose to study what they studied in the first place, biochemist suddenly interested in CFA after going through the salary expectation sounds somehow especially when they ask what CFA stands for Better working environment and job satisfaction gives some people better quality of life. the unfortunate thing is the funds and duration some people 'waste' running around without a concrete plan from the onset |
babaowo: ..... But he dey take hin mumu style reveal many secrets ooo...eg,like 1billion naira for food allowance.but lets be honest nothing is secret anymore in naija, i mean nothing surprises us, these budgets were there before, he needs to surprise us by making actual cuts to reduce waste in the budget or restructuring the prosecution teams to get actual convictions. |
This narrative is what the national security adviser tried to communicate at the Asaba summit of South-South leaders, but he was misunderstood by the media. Jonathan and his inner circle believe that Boko Haram is a Northern conspiracy to prevent Jonathan enjoying his presidency. And Northern political leaders like IBB and General Buhari aare the sponsors and financiers of Boko Haram”. This narrative, he added, was the belief of most Niger Delta leaders because of their own experience in organizing, training and arming the militants and providing funding for Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta(MEND) during the period of resource control agitations of the Obasanjo administration.point |
too true Check the CFA thread, the HSE thread, in fact any new certification with some salary hints and voila, fresh grads trooping in like theres no tomorrow anyway na condition I like your title by the way, i was about to say 'one of those ones' lol |
PointB: If some of the posters are not doing so out of pure hatred or plain bigotry, they would agree that GEJ regime has been largely transparent in exposing some of these scam. Who will have any idea of the sleaze in the oil industry or pension scam if GEJ had simply ask for his cut and that of his lieutenants.it's just one of the out fall of being a weak leader, GEJ is not allowing various organs free hand he just doesn't know how to actually direct all the initiative, i mean this is a pdp lead govt, where are the result of the probes? cabal this cabal that..... probes didnt start with him, obj actually had people fired, suspended thats result, that's a deterrent to many coming after them, straight from the top, what do we get with this one? You sometimes get the feeling of 'abeg make them shout, that's what they are good at,this is democracy' as long as files reach AGF cupboard and him throway keys for him London pad. Where is the PIB in a house thats solidly pdp, how many nnpc are we going to have? how many speech as he actually made against corruption, what steps has he actually taken to reduce govt wastage? this guy doesn't want to ruffle feathers in the slightest, he is not even trying to step on toes. |

naijababe: Quite a rant thereVery well said, i was tempted to ask how many northerners he knows on NL apart from alh alhaji, funny how people generalise so easily on this site based on the actions of a few igbos, hausas, or yorubas |
