but is there anyway they can paint the trains perhaps sea blue or some other color, the aluminium colour reminds of of NYC trains, graffiti and fat rats
I hope the seats come with better cushions  grin

who voted for fashola to win ?

fashola is wasting his time on this railway project, he needs to provide security for the people

in lagos alone we have 1 chance bus, gbomo gbomo, armed robbers, all the evil in the world u would find in lagos (a combination of igbo and yoruba)

fashola should introduce a police system that would ensure crimals are gotten

euff said
i'm not a teacher unfortunately, but i can tell you this for free

Your friend Jonathan is responsible for police systems or should that be MEND systems

Fashola's investment or should i say initiatve with the security trust fund is popular and seems to be getting result

alj harem, never been to lagos

Fashola should use this term to focus on people oriented projects and not all this white elephant projects. The poor people suffered during his first term in office.
Name the white elephant projects?

rail transport is not people oriented?

perhaps the people responding to you are to blame.

^ If it was easy to arrest and prosecute people the US would have done away with Alqaeda ages ago.

@topic. Many of the monkeys mocking this story are the same apes who'll cry on the lack of proactiveness on the part of the govt when it comes to security.
oh please spare me that alqeada is spread around different countries, there are many people in UK and American prisons that have been arrested for inciting' violence or planning terrorist activities

what is proactive about uncovering some meeting, proactive is arresting them whilst they have been 'uncovered' take the bloody evidence to court and prosecute them, all these fake stories don't save lives
Politics › Re: More Street Killing Planned - FG Uncovers Plot To Derail Jonathan’s Inauguration by DisGuy: 7:02am On May 15, 2011
A plot to scuttle the inauguration of President Goodluck Jonathan on May 29 has been uncovered by some agencies of government said to be working on counter terrorism theories.
these people are always uncovering theories o, never arrest or prosecute anyone

Hello House, I have been reading this thread everyday as I await my I-20 and I am currently on page 139.
I am a MS Fall 2011 Admitted student.
I had earlier posted a question asking anyone who may have used the Post office to pick up his/her I-20 but I didnt get any reply, I felt very sad not getting any help to my question on the below link,
https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-240241.6624.html#msg8180356.

Thank God I have finally received my I-20 and I am set for the next stage (Visa Processing as 15th Aug is stated on my I-20 as date I am supposed to be in school), A Tip for anyone using the post office box, it took me just 15 days to get my I-20 but pls, make sure its sent to a P.O.Box, not your home address.

Well, I have gotten some pretty good information from this thread that I hope to utilize but I still have some questions like,
Now that I have my I-20, where do I start from? as per SERVIS and Visa fee payment, Appointment booking and so on,
Should I start with the SERVIS registration online and Payment? what are the necessary sites for these processes and which one do I commence first?
I'd encourage the gurus of the house to give me directions and assistance.

My dummy email is ghummer365@gmail.com,
Once again, I'd appreciate any kind of help as I hear appointment days seem very limited for Abuja Embassy where I'd prefer to have my interview.

Pls gurus, help
sorry about that, you need to realise at some stage the people asking questions are more than the people answering also some questions are repeated over and over again

some people after getting their admissions/visa are bogged down with the hassle of settling in or some just dont look back

PS: someone actually answered you here
https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-240241.6624.html#msg8182586

Another tip is to actually direct the questions to someone specifically target those that appear to know the process or passed your stage of application

Good luck

Dapo Lam-Adesina is one of the sons of former Oyo State governor and Action Congress chieftain, Alhaji Lam Adesina. The Youngman who has just been elected into the House of Representatives is distinctly pleased with his achievement.

Many years after his father quit office, the young man busied himself with the intricacies of politics and that included positioning himself to secure the mandate of the people.

In his 30s, the young man who obviously left no stone unturned in a bid to actualise his ambition set his political machinery in motion.

^^
The reason American sports like NBA do that is because they are looking for more audience or looking to keep hold of their European business marketing opportunities. playing a game in Europe is different from playing a game in Africa, Football is a global sport with huge marketing already
the leagues already support Africa through its FA and FIFA they dont have to do it individually except they have players pushing for it, there are players already involved on a private level or in collaboration with charities. The NFL doesn't have a global body to do all these things, playing in Europe is not a big achievement

dedicated website in yoruba/afrikaans? English is enough, i doubt Africans have a problem reading the thousands of website already available to football fans, too many languages in african anyway

the nba teams playing in europe make huge amount from their european tour, the cost of tickets in london is almost the same if not more than is charged in LA, NY etc Apart from safety and logistics involved charge the same gate fee in Africa will be exploitation, Average ticket price is about N8000> Portsmouth , Man U played in Abuja, Tottenham will be playing in SA this summer after several logistics/contract issue since 2 years ago

I actually think its the software itself or some hardware
the laptop is pre-owned just got it last week thursday, everything has be reformatted before handing it over

If only we can get just 50% of EPL addicts in Naija to re-think just like you . . . I asked one NLder once, he response was that Nigerians are so into euro soccer because to them its a form of escapism, a temporary means of relief or distraction from the hardship of Naija life. A means of channeling their anger and depression and converting it into a means of 'catching fun'.

I have always wondered about the fervency of love and passion wholly devoted to clubs and people and players that couldn't give any less of a damn towards Africa/Africans than they already do. Talk about misplaced passion. I guess its something psychological.
Sorry i'll have to disagree on this bit, first its sport, and sport as we know it should have nothing on race or a particular country's development or enslavement. its sport an entertainment activity not a political gathering

Secondly, there are many Africans/Nigerians playing the sport in different leagues all over the world earning a decent living entertaining millions and developing their immediately environment

several clubs have affiliations with African teams, they support hospitals in the locality or help raise funds for players heading several ngos in africa

seems you dont live in Nigeria

the nigerian environment is extremely noisy and we are accustomed speaking loudly -basically screaming just to communicate with the person next to you. there are generators, cars, radio blaring music and adverts, everything so i guess the producers are just assuming everyone watch tv with a loud generator wink
