I saw the video and the original poster was "crying" when she viewed the trailer of some documentary. A documentary about homeless African orphans. Where did Nigeria come in again? How did she attack Nigeria? Abi did I click on a wrong video ni? huh huh
exactly, I think posters should stop carrying 'fights' from other threads/board into new threads angry

You might want to write a column for a local newspaper or even have your own weekly newsletter that can be distributed to universities secondary schools, clinics/health centres business centres and other places where literate and semi-literate people gather.

you might also want to organise free seminars where you will discuss case studies about national and international leaders who have achieved something and how they went about it- you main focus will be the their background and character

or just get them a TV to see what a they are missing out on by voting rogues-show them regions of the world with little or no resources having modern and accessible healthcare, qualitative education, modern farming techniques and entreprenuership made possible by competent leadership with verifiable background- wean them away from sanu da aiki alhaji mentality where they are always waiting on the Emir for instructions/donations

Nobody likes immigrants. Remember what was happening in South Africa not a long time ago? The British are very kind compared to SA  undecided

UK is a popular destination because it is relatively easy to get there. I know people have all sorts of visa problems, but believe me, getting into most European countries or the US (legally) is harder.  And it is an English-speaking country and it is a popular language, most people prefer to go to a country which language they know. It is very hard to live in a place where you do not know the local language, I experienced that.

Poles and other Eastern Europeans do not go there in such numbers because they love UK. It is because UK and Ireland were the first to open the job market for them (that is they do not need any visas or permissions to work there). All European Union countries must allow this for new EU members within a few years, but most of them want to do it as late as they can. So again, they went there because it was the country that was most open to receiving them and allowing them more than other Western European countries.
Ironically, even Nigerians chased their neighbours-Ghanaian- of the same colour/race out of the country
having been accused of a spate of robberies, talking with a funny accent, stealing jobs and even playing footsie

Your ignorance knows no bounds.

Oh yes Gamine is right. Even the British agree that Blair sheepishly followed his friend, Bush into Iraq to gain favours with USA. The 51st state whether you like it or not is UK. Obama therefore wields a large influence over the UK's foreign and domestic policies (and on other countries too).
that was then or should I say at that point in time when over 3000 people died, it is a bit difficult not
to sympathise of 'stand shoulder to shoulder' with a grieving brethren but not any more!

To be candid with you, Obama won the election because majority of the americans crave for change.
Do you know that cameron of the tories said this is not time for a novice? Who was he referring to? Obama of course. If UK was a determinant factor in the election, they would have preferred mccain.

Election in UK is far boring compared to US

Gordon Brown made the statement-considering the state of the global economy- at the labour convention refering to David cameron

Thank you very much carmelily, your post have been very insightful,
i guess what i was harping on about was mainly about the reality in nigeria
i dont know his background-family support, age and finances so i guess my advice
was about getting ROI asap and developing as he went along; when you consider
social science graduates, language graduates etc working in the banks/telecoms then studying for
second degree part-time or going off to further their education after gaining experience
and saving money you'll understand why i was abit skeptical about going for unpopular courses
that are not yet fully appreciated by big employers in the country.

those suggestions were from prospectus.ac.uk

Would having a black immigrant at 10 Downing street be just for sentimental reasons (ie to prove we blacks can rule Britain as well as the whites can), or to what purpose exactly? The black is expected to perform a miracle that the whites cannot?
Nah just a feel good factor, and perharps an excuse to have a national holiday back home

i mean ethnic minorities are less than 8% of the population and about 80% of ethnic minorities

Lets send the video clips to all the TV houses in Lagos, Abuja and other parts of Nigeria including the NTA. NTA might not air it and a few other fearful media houses might not want to show it but some bold and anti-PDP stations like Channels and AIT maybe willing to show it.
are you serious, which tv station in nigeria is anti-pdp or govt, even if they are they will never show these things
I mean it happens almost everyday, if you notice it is only the PUNCH newspaper thats been following the news
Ait can't be anti-pdp it partly owned by many of them including odili wink

i watch nta/ait today nothing!!!

The victim later told our correspondent on her hospital bed on the telephone that she was heading towards Mile 2 from the Lagos Island where she worked when the incident happened.

Okere, who claimed that she had a military background, said immediately she saw Arogundade’s convoy, she knew that a Rear Admiral was inside the car and she quickly gave way.

She said, ”We were all in the traffic. I heard a siren behind me. One of them came out to control the traffic. I was moving to the left when he suddenly pulled me out. They dragged me into the house tore my clothes. I was beaten up mercilessly. My head is really swollen with bruises all over me.”

She added that she managed to get her colleagues to call her father who works in Abuja to speak with the Rear Admiral on phone.

”My father spoke with the man on the phone later but he lied to him (her father) that I was fighting with his men. They would have beaten the two other ladies in my car like they did to my male colleagues if not for the fact that they are pregnant,” she added.

Okere said she had contacted a human rights lawyer who advised her not to report to any police station since the case involved a senior officer.
i hope the father is thinking of cold bloodied revenge on the rogues family!!

Bassey told Sunday Sun in the party office along Ekpo Obot Street, Uyo, that her major opponent in the contest, also a woman, not only masterminded her kidnap, but organized two men who took their turns to rape her.
very sad.   .   .

Ironically, the two candidates said they never reported the matter to the police as at the time of narrating it to Sunday Sun. But they insisted that the election was not free and fair, as such should be cancelled.

Why do you think so?
What i think is that the people got bored as they are obviously not used to the
money, time and coverage involved in this election or
should i say the american election as usual
it was like forever!!! elections in the UK are usually short compared to
the american election, the debates blah blah and to be honest the
british media made a meal of it, if anything they supported Obama all the way!!
Even Gordon Brown made a slip when he wrote about Obama's progressive ideas. . .

perhaps our law makers will appreciate and learn about the election process
how exciting and inspiring it has been, the efforts and system of selecting candidates
by party nominations and country-wide campaigns and even the media will probably
be more responsive, digging information and asking the right questions on behalf of the
people

nigerians generally don't like paying for anything and take advantage of someone's goodness
what would be a prevailing rate to you dear sir? we give 24hrs electricity in some of our houses and you get some tenants talking about not having money to pay. yet they have money for food and petrol

my advice is if you can give your property to agents and don't get personal with tenants
i don't know to much about the rent aswell but its obvious
you don't expect people to pay more than 'the neigbhourhood' average
in an area where 3bed flat is going for say 250 p.a, you'll probably have your
house in the market forever if you charge something like 500k p.a except you get some
desperate oil money miss road. seeing as they'll be experience about the same level of
traffic, security threat, access to amenities etc

24hr electricity should be standard anyway grin
