what is post jamb? is it an exam or interview

if it is an exam just study hard, practise exams questions mainly science maths and english and you wont have a problem. Ask other students in university how their postjambs are. there wont be much difference
Politics › Re: This Devilish Plan Against Ribadu Must Never Succeed. by DisGuy: 10:19pm On May 20, 2007
According to investigations, a cabal, which comprise notable state governors and some key presidential candidates, has perfected plans to launch anti-Ribadu campaign to make him unsuitable for the incoming cabinet to be formed by the president-elect, Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
do they still have a say on who makes the govt?
I bet their investigation was done on nairaland grin

It is not certain whether Yar’Adua had bowed to pressure to dispense with Ribadu, but Sunday Tribune can report that the cabal is behind media campaigns about Ribadu being named as a possible Inspector General of Police.
I bet if they pay them to run anti-ribadu stories they'll join the media campaign, no long thing

I am not sure that would work either. I am virtually the only one posting to the e-forum. Others just treat it as a source of information.
In fact I am taking certain actions that would reduce the number of subscribers to my mailing list. I don't want dead wood on my team
I think a blog or website would be better with passwords for registered members only. I don't know why there was a physical meeting probably because of the trust issue, a virtual meeting with camera links would eliminate some of the excuses given

I think ibtc are obvious the leading fund managers *

the* last time i checked their price it was in the region of 5,000 something now its 10,000+
I read that gtb and some other bank pulled out of arm discovery fund, their price is a bit reasonable jsut that they don't seem to be bothered about the website, very old data
Politics › Re: 99% Of Nigerians Are Corrupt And Dubious by DisGuy: 7:55pm On May 20, 2007
etio all those still fall within the 1%

PASTOR MATTHEW ASHIMOLOWO A YORUBA MAN RUNS THE LARGEST CHURCH IN THE UK.
investigated for paying himself £250,000 of church money and for his birthday £40,000 for a personal car, expensive holidays, funding real estates in florida and huge amounts wired to foreign accounts wink

churches in england are registered under charity and i think they get funds from the govt apart from not paying tax
Business › Re: Starting A Waste Management And Recycling Plant by DisGuy: 7:44pm On May 20, 2007
the recyling bit will be difficult

It usually goes with collecting(supply),Sorting, distributing(selling) and then recycling orselling the products

-You can make arrangements with Nite clubs, sport club, schools, churches, banks and offices for collection of recycleable products [glass, bottles, paper and plastic stachets]

-If can arrange to go to clubs, banks and offices everyday and maybe twice a week to schools and churches for collection.

-if the products are not gathered separately, then you will need a warehouse where people will be employed to sort the products- paper(white, brown, mixed paper),plastic(PET, rolled plastic)glass(according to colour or those you are selling to) and so on

-package it then sell it to coca-cola,breweries, paper mills, and so on .Some local goverment buy the products/metric tonnes  wink

Business › Re: Advice Needed In Managing Illiterate Employees by DisGuy: 7:28pm On May 20, 2007
not neccessarily,

Seun:
Do you realise that the problem might be with you and not with them? Afterall, they have been doing their jobs just fine for years before they joined the company. You need to try to appreciate and respect their contributions to the business instead of thinking of them as "illiterates". You are the underdog, and they have a lot to teach you!
someone that is getting 50% can be said to be doing just fine, what if 'just fine' is not good enough anymore?

1) Have a clear strategic Vision of the organisations new strategy and of the shared values and behaviour needed to make it work. this is the purpose and direction for cultural change.

2) Top management commitment. cultural change must be managed from the top of the organisation. Senior managers and admin need to be strongly commited to the new values and need to creaste constant presure for change.

3)Symbolic leadership. Senior management/executives must communicate the new culture through their own actions.your behaviour need to symbolise the kind of values and behaviours being sought.

4) change must be accompanied by supporting modification in organisational change

5) Organisational membership.one of the most effective methods of cultural change is to change the organisational membership. People can be selected in terms of their fit with the new culture, and provided with an induction clearly indicating desired attitudes and behaviour. Existing staff who cannot adapt to the new ways may have their employement terminated through early retirement schemes. this is especially important in key leadership positions, where peoples actions can significantly promote or hinder new values and behaviours.

Simply adopting the above to change an organisation culture without understanding the nature of its existing culture and how this is sustained is not likely to be successful.

As you can see i'm on holiday typing straight from my handouts anyway sha wheres my money for the consultation grin

NYSC › Re: Fg's Plan To Scrap Nysc by DisGuy: 6:48pm On May 20, 2007
Yes O!! is it very good! some countries got rid of their national service programmes decades ago, if the purpose of the nysc is for integration then they can spread all their govt headquarter around the country instead of abuja and lagos then post people to those states, they can also encourage other companies to spread their headquarter to other region.

N250k can start something and 4 students > N1million wink

At the very worst, though still sad, a few hundreds die from armed robbery and corrupt incidents in Nigeria yearly.
just few hundreds?

I think the poster or the person that made the comment is talking on an individual level not necessarily country policies/actions, though related.
