Politics › Re: Ayo Adebanjo: Secession Not Solution, 1999 Constitution Is Problem by DMerciful(m): 5:37pm On May 24, 2021
The reason is because we see separation as a bad thing. It's our mindset. It's not a must to be with someone, if it's not working, both parties should understand it's not working and go their separate ways. We were separate before, the British came to merge us without consulting us so why do we insist on maintaining British idea? Even Britain seoerated from EU where they've been for ages. Even Scotland did referendum twice to pull out from UK but majority said they want to remain.

Whether people separate through war or peace will be their choice. But if Yorubas wants to breakout, Biafra will never join Fulanis to fight Oduduwa to remain. Niger Delta will not do the same so what are we talking about

You see how you're changing the goal post?

Tell me among these countries, which of them were doing better when they were in former Yugoslavia as a country?

Bosnia and Herzegovina
Croatia
Kosovo
Montenegro
North Macedonia
Serbia
Slovenia

somehow:
Doing better in what sense?
Can you back this up?
Yugoslavia on its own is not even a country known to have the resources to cater for those countries that broke out and all of them put together aren't even a model to look at when it comes to prosperity.
Politics › Re: Ayo Adebanjo: Secession Not Solution, 1999 Constitution Is Problem by DMerciful(m): 5:28pm On May 24, 2021
The Southern Protectorate was like a country with its govt. The Northern protectorate was also like a country. They were merge together for Britain's benefit.

Also, the Benin kingdom, Oyo empire, Kanem-borno empire etc were like countries then and they existed for thousands of years alone before British came so why are we afraid to stay alone?

You seems to be avoiding Yugoslavia and USSR, why?
somehow:
While I said their status then isn't same as that of Nigeria.

Singapore then was like a country on its own until the British criminals merged them together with Singapore.

But there was no country like Oodua, Fulani, Biafra etc when the British criminals formed Nigeria. More reason I don't think the comparison is justified.

I still support Regional system of government or True federalism.
Politics › Re: Ayo Adebanjo: Secession Not Solution, 1999 Constitution Is Problem by DMerciful(m): 5:22pm On May 24, 2021
Change your mindset! Secession is not declaration of war. Just like divorce, couples can separate peacefully or through violence, their choice. There have been countless countries that broke out without firing a single shot! Yugoslavia and USSR broke up without a single shot being fired and they broke up to over 20 countries

Singapore separated from Malaysia, how are they doing today? Far better than Malaysia.

It is not an assumption because if you take Yugoslavia for instance, the 8 countries that came out are doing better than Yugoslavia.

Tell me a country that broke out and became worse off?
somehow:
That's an assumption that it would have been worse since it does not exist for comparison.

Between Sudan and Nigeria, which one would you go for?

What's with Singapore in your examples?
Politics › Re: Ayo Adebanjo: Secession Not Solution, 1999 Constitution Is Problem by DMerciful(m): 5:10pm On May 24, 2021
It has most times been the solution. Go and study Yugoslavia, USSR, Sudan, Singapore....they would have been worse off if they remained. Tell be a country that broke out that's doing worse than when it was in its former country?

I respect Pa Adebanjo position however I believe all cards should be put on the table. Restructuring and breakup. If you let the Fulanis know you're not ready for breakup, they will not listen to you regarding restructuring. Even if you're not ready for breakup, threaten them with it cos nothing scares northerners than breakup.
Politics › Re: Tinubu, South-West Leaders Reject Yoruba Nation, Support Ban On Open Grazing by DMerciful(m): 8:43pm On May 23, 2021
Tinubu has negotiated with his Fulani masters to allow him support the ban on open grazing which he has no influence over anyways and condemn any possible breakout to Oduduwa which scares his Fulani masters far more than grazing. Nothing can stop the freedom of the various nationalities seeking their self determination!

So let's forget this talk about women not doing anything.

If you do not help her there is no risk because she's not aware of the opening. If you do, there's considerable risk so why take risk in a place where you earn your living? If you know what is good for you, do not recommend her. Do not say you weren't warned because village people will not be responsible.

Forthispost:
Hello Nairalanders. I need your honest feedback on this issue.

There is this ex of mine I dated for approximately 4 years. During the course of our relationship, I Was totally in my best power not to be the toxic one and never cheated on her but she eventually left with no viable reason. There were times she messed up and I forgave her even while we dated.
Close to the time of her graduation from a reputable state university in Nigeria, she started messing up and eventually broke up the relationship.
I was pained though but I had to forgive her and move on.

After the break up (which is about 3 years away now) we still talk (greetings on phone) once in a blue moon.

Now the issue at hand is, a male boss of mine requested that I recommend a female staff that matches a particular vacant role in our organisation .
Note: This is an internal recruitment and who ever I recommend stand a 95% chance of getting employed ( the other 5% if for village people). The role is an entry role with pay centered around 80k-100k monthly. She currently earns 22k where she works now at at our last conversation. Though she use to be a cool person before her village people entered the relationship. Over three years of not being close as before gives me no clue of the type of person she might have become now. Maybe a scorned woman or a more sensible person. I'm doing far better than when she left me and it's super glaring to her.

The reason why I need advice is this: I work at the same organisation in question and I have no plan to leave soon. I'm trying to avoid a case where she will be the one to facilitate any issue for me at the said work place. Just avoiding anything that will result in regrets.

Update: I forgot to add, she's one of the person I know who suits the role. I don't have sister who matches the role.

I created this new account for just this thread hence the moniker "for this post"

Kindly advice biko. Bashing is allowed.

It's not a must to stay with someone. If it's not working, it's not working.

Eritrea already broke from Ethiopia, South Sudan already broke from Sudan. Black self determination is no different from white but the unity of purpose and courage is the challenge.

Any new country created whether Biafra,Lower Niger Republic, Oduduwa...there has to be agreement and contracts signed by ethnic nationalities on how to live together with the clause on how to exit if the contracts are broken documented with the UN. This is not prehistoric times when things were done half hazardly0
ivandragon:
No one in the south is disputing the fact that the contraption we have today called Nigeria has serious issues.

But like you pointed out, NK's negotiation skills are less than ideal given the socio-demographic circumstances of the Igbos.

He is pushing for a war that he cannot win but he seems ready to sacrifice millions of lives to achieve his objectives.

The division of Nigeria can be achieved without bloodshed, it will take time, but it will come. However NK wants to ensure it comes early enough so he can 'rule' Biafra for a long time...

Really disappointed in the people defending Tinubu. The op asked from a project built by Tinubu in Lagos btw 1999-2007 and they couldn't mention any but insult him.

The op provided evidence that Lagos was better before Tinubu, you lots said he is lying but could not show the improvement from 1999 to 2007. Pathetic!
Politics › Re: The Fate Of South South Igbos When Nigeria Breaks. by DMerciful(m): 10:32pm On May 15, 2021
Staying to fight is foolhardy and you know it. How did Abiola die? He was convinced to return home and fight, where is he today? In the world of today, you can lead from anywhere due to the internet. I'm not a fan of NK because I think he lacks negotiation skills however he has repeatedly talked about ethnic nationalities be given referendum to choose. The Nigeria we are in today, we were never consulted to be in Nigeria, it was the royal Niger company that bought the area Nigeria and sold to the British without discussing with our forefathers. Zik, Awolowo, Amadu Bello only negotiated indepence but not why they were co-opted into Nigeria in the first place because it happened before their time
ivandragon:
How many Igbos have said so?

By your submission I should listen to only the loudmouthed coward who enjoys the good life abroad & pushes gullible followers to their deaths?

As much as people are entitled to self determination, those who chose to lead such self determination should have the cojones to stay & fight.

The Igbos have said they are willing to go alone except groups who're willing to join them but out of mischievousness, you'll choose to listen to nobodys saying they would carry SS Igbos by force. I'm from Delta and I'm Igbo....I would prefer we go with Biafra instead of remaining in Nigeria and nobody is forcing me to
ivandragon:
Most Biafran agitators sound like land grabbers & bullies.

You all talk about your right to your own country but you don't want to hear dissenting opinions of those in other lands who do not wish to be part of your country.

A Biafra in the mold of NK would be one of oppression & dictatorship. Once you challenge NK, he will probably assassinate such a person.
Foreign Affairs › Re: Palestinian Loss Of Land From 1946 To Present by DMerciful(m): 8:36pm On May 15, 2021
You have been quoting people to attack the Bible knowing fully well that, that's not how Israel got those lands in 1948. You looked for an avenue to insult the Bible but ofcource you knew the Bible had nothing to do with the Israel Palestinian conflict. Who's mischievous? You met a superior reasoning and started throwing unnecessary defence and asking lame question without addressing my point on the UN creating present day Israel without biblical inputs. Go sidon for corner jor
omonnakoda:
First you said I think the UN blah blah blah
Now you say my "position about people"
Already you are contradicting yourself is it people or the UN?
Next you talk about superior argument to one that I have never made . Is it by force?

Honestly you are just being an irritant

At no time did I express any position on the UN

So you are either being mischievous or deliberately dissembling either way all I ask is that you just go away and leave me in peace and do not put words in my mouth
Foreign Affairs › Re: Palestinian Loss Of Land From 1946 To Present by DMerciful(m): 8:04pm On May 15, 2021
I don't need to be in your mind to know...read your comments and see your position about people believing the Bible to claim the land was given to them by God. That's for religious people but United Nations will work with historical facts to draw borders. You're being defensive to say I shouldn't quote you, shows you met a superior argument.
omonnakoda:
You are now my priest to tell me what I think?
Guy if you have nothing to do or say must you quote me?
Foreign Affairs › Re: Palestinian Loss Of Land From 1946 To Present by DMerciful(m): 8:01pm On May 15, 2021
The Bible was modified to stop terrorism, why has the Koran not been modified instead they fight people who call for the modification of the Koran. The reason is because it's easier to modify the Bible because Christ modified it when he said people should not follow the law of Moses which preaches an eye for an eye but turn the other cheek. But alas same cannot be said of Mohd who used jihad
helinues:
Christians started terrorism all in the name of crusade... That was one of the reason why Bible was modified.. Quran is yet to be modified hence the terrorist still referring to some verse to carry out their evil mission
Foreign Affairs › Re: Palestinian Loss Of Land From 1946 To Present by DMerciful(m): 7:57pm On May 15, 2021
You think UN created Israel by following biblical history? I expected better from you
omonnakoda:
Who wrote this Genesis .

This same fanaticism that we see in Islam is what we are seeing here

The objective truth to me as a black African

Is that Genesis is The HISTORY of the Hebrews ACCORDING TO THEM.

There is no proof that there is a God or that if there is a God that God shares land or that God Chose any one people above another.

That is What they say and believe.
Also by the way according to the Bible Abraham had 8 sons . Which of those 8 did he say would inherit the land.

My take is that to analyse this issue we have to leave God completely out of it because those claims cannot be verified
Foreign Affairs › Re: Palestinian Loss Of Land From 1946 To Present by DMerciful(m): 7:54pm On May 15, 2021
Even by conquest, Israel defeated the Arabs so what are we saying? The Palestinians had the best deal during the Clinton administration but refused to take it cos they wanted all or nothing. Now they get nothing. Arafat bunked it.
omonnakoda:
I have heard similar arguments from the Boers during the Apartheid government

The problem Black people have is they are unable to THINK

If they think they will understand that The Quran and Bible are just stories of the respective peoples

There is no objective reason why a Yoruba or Ogoni person should accept those stories as anything more than that

stories.

Once by indoctrination without any sense of objectivity you accept the story of Jacob as fact it becomes impossible to reason.

Here is the thing

Even if we accept that the Descendants of Jacob occupied the land at some point there is no evidence that they were the first occupants. Secondly what evidence is there that those who were brought back from Europe in 1948 are descendants of Jacob?
What evidence is there that there are no descendants of Jacob among the Palestinians

The simple truth is according to the Bible When Joshua arrived at the so called Promised land he met people there.

Thousands of years later The Romans occupied the place and othere have done so for thousand of years

So why is the claim of one people superior to that of those who are occuptying it .? Because THEIR HOLY BOOK
says so.

On that basis People from Europe were brought in in 1948 and those who had been there for 100s of years became refugees in that land

As a human being , a black African I do not accept that any Holy Book is anything more than a creation of man and so I must analyse the issues WITHOUT reference to a Holy Book

My concern is What stops White folk doing the same thing in South Africa, Zimbabwe or Nigeria

Let us not forget that Liberia was created by a similar process.

If it is OKAY for one people to evacuate another and take their lands because THEIR OWN gods say so

Why is it not okay for Fulani to do the same in Nigeria
Foreign Affairs › Re: Palestinian Loss Of Land From 1946 To Present by DMerciful(m): 7:50pm On May 15, 2021
So you believe all Jews came from Abraham?
helinues:
Probably , you only relied on bible as your source, even at that, you stylishly avoid all the questions I asked.

Is God an estate real agent that gives land to whoever he pleases? Which land did God promise Abraham?

How did they eventually acquire that land.. This time, don't shift the goal post
