Na wa for the 419 they used to get Home Alone made. It's just funny seeing how those 4 films nearly didn't get made because of one thing or the other.
I hope that exec at Warner Bros was fired!!! Packed up production because of $1.2M and the film went on to make almost a billion dollars!

Loved it!
Which was your fave? Mine was the Dirty Dancing episode. To think for a movie that almost didn’t get made, those two women are still making money from it.

Christianity EtcRe: Feminists Who Don't Submit To Their Husband Will Exhibit The Curse From God by doitforyou(f): 8:24pm On Dec 10, 2019
OP, this is a waste of your resources. Most Nigerian women even Nigerian feminists believe wives should be submissive to their husbands. Most of my feminist friends will tell me, there is no feminism in marriage.

You know what the No.1 issue in Nigerian marriages is? It’s the none adherence to the 7th commandment, Adultery. It’s easy to preach that, no ambiguity and it’s actually a commandment.

Yea you get thrown in jail for some 3 months.

You usually face ds reality at the point of exit at the airport. So maybe at that point in time they might just decide to let you go. In which case a life ban will be placed on you. And I'm sure you know what that means even for visa applications to other countries.

But lets say the police busted you in a wrong situation like using the public transport and not logging in your card, then straight up to jail first, after 3months deportation, and then blacklist/ban
Oh ok, thanks. I thought you’ll be arrested and thrown into jail when you’re about to exit. Yeah, it’s same everywhere, you get held at a holding facility/detention until your deportation order is processed.

Can you share your experiences teaching in Dubai?

There's slavery everywhere.
Best bet is to stay in your home country.

You think its all rosy in Europe and the Americas.

Yeah granted no one holds your passport but you see instances where people live in advanced countries and dare not make a move out of the country, stuck there for even up to 10yrs cos its a requirement for papers
But at least you can buy a one way ticket and self deport. From what I read on this thread, you can’t self deport in the UAE, you will be thrown in jail because you’re owing fines from your overstay. If that’s true, that’s crazy!

4 kids and a mother and father in a one bedroom flat please you do the emotional, psychological and physically maths and get back to me
Again, rich people’s problems. You’re speaking from a place of privilege, there’s no need to do any math, that’s the reality of some Nigerian families.

It’s really none of your business how your friend decides to spend his pay check. If you’re uncomfortable with his “matured” kids sleeping over at your house then you tell him.

That’s the problem with Nigerians, always think they should’ve an input on how people should live their lives.
FamilyRe: Is My Friend Stingy - Living With Wife - Teenage Girls & Lil Ones In 1bed Flat by doitforyou(f): 4:48pm On Dec 08, 2019
lol rich people’s problem. How many families in Nigeria can afford separate bedrooms for their growing prepub kids? Many Nigerians did just fine growing up with all siblings sharing a room.

You need to stop counting other people’s money and mind your business. You don’t know if he spends a lot of money helping family members, or he spends more on education, or whatever he choses to spend his money on.

And eww! at you noticing how matured and developed your children’s prepub friends are. If you are getting uncomfortable around them then tell your friend you can’t handle it being around his kids at your house. The only criticism I have for your friend is the frequent sleepovers at your house, very careless with the rampart cases of sexual abuse on children.

I understand you, my Queen.

Nigeria is indeed a lawless country, but it is not just about the leaders. The average Nigerian is lawless as well.

It would take a lot of effort from family and society to turn the country around.

Our problem is not merely leadership. It is systemic as well. Corruption is so ingrained in our society that even some children already know how to make money from scamming people on the internet.

Do you know that when I was writing Common Entrance, there were parents who actually bribed invigilators to bring in answers on toilet rolls for their children? Can you imagine? Children of 8,9,10 already learning how to cheat, and aided by parents who are meant to be raising them the right way for the benefit of society.

So, this problem can't just go away like that. I tell people that even if they bring all the past American presidents to Nigeria, they cannot turn the country around until we (citizens of Nigeria) start changing our mentality and outlook about life.
Laughed hard at the bolded.

Unfortunately, yours is a very unpopular opinion in Nigeria because Nigerians never like to take responsibilities for anything. It’s way easier to point fingers at “bad leaders”

Nigerians deserve the state the country is in right now. The average Nigerian is corrupt and he/she enables corrupt politicians.

Nigerias GDP should have been close to $2 trillion

Now it's only the giant of africa because of population, if the population keeps growing at the current rate it will continue to be poverty capital of the world. Current Population rate is not sustainable.

It will have bigger GDP while being poor.

I hope i didnt offend you with my statement
Which is really unfortunate because our population is a resource which should’ve been harnessed. See China. Huge population, good infrastructure, cheap labor and they became the manufacturing capital for the developed world. We even have an edge over China, our population is very young.

Very very early

That's y South Africa is more developed than Nigeria

because their colonial masters left so late, they were able to put things in other for them

Unlike Nigeria, the Northerners just woke up and felt they can lead undecided
Their colonial masters left a year after ours did, the British colonists left in 1961.

South Africa was mostly a self governing colony which means most of the profits made from looting SA resources remained in SA to develop largely white settlements of former colonizers Portuguese, Dutch, British and Indians. These settlers can trace their families back several generations and they call SA home.

In Nigeria, 99% of profits were remitted to the crown, to develop Great Britain, the little they kept in Nigeria was used for housing for the colonizers. The Brits were here for 200+ but they left very very little infrastructure behind. 1960 is not so far away.

Even if they didn’t leave till year 3000 nothing (in terms of infrastructure) would really change. We will just be giving the Brits free money.

Now I am not disagreeing that many ladies are completely messed up, even on this forum they feel flattered, when a man who disrespects women at every turn and shares some very repelling opinions, gives them attention and they don't even see how they disgrace themselves. Some of them are even accomplished ladies but still feel so unworthy they decide to throw themselves at these men. Pain will teach them what they need to know sooner or later. Like you said, experience is the best teacher.
... and as almost always happens, these guys turn on them. I always read such ‘attack’ exchanges with glee.

That man has serious trust issues. Both of you are not compatible personality wise.

Imagine, someone as jovial as you keeping your virginity when you had so many opportunities to loose it. Yet, he can't trust you.

Plus, you tell him everything. Yours would have been the perfect solid ground for a perfect relationship.

I like someone I can tell everything to and who can tell me everything too because I'm not the emotional type. I don't easily get jealous.

Also, I know some people naturally have a penchant to seem flirtatious. They are just friendly. They just want people around them to feel comfortable. It's not like they want to date them.

Go to youtube and type Craig Ferguson. He had a show some years back. The way he spoke to women on his show, you'd think he wanted to sleep with all of them.

If those people have good moral background, their morality will be unshakeable despite their friendliness.

You just have to pretend when you are around him. It is what you signed up for when you signed the dotted lines. I'm sorry darling, you will have to start keeping things away from him and colouring your words for peace to reign.

Na this kind thing dey lead to cheating because one day you'll meet someone who will listen to you and before you know it.... Yawa don gas.
Thank you! I literally just posted this before I saw ur comment. This is why most people are unhappy in their marriages. There is no ONE personality a married woman should have. Women come in vast personalities and they can still be faithful, good mothers, etc.

How can you marry someone a free spirit, now you want to turn her into your idea of wife material. Why didn’t he look for that type of woman to date and marry?
RomanceRe: Help, My Husband Keeps Insisting I Stop Talking To Strangers by doitforyou(f): 1:37pm On Nov 26, 2019
This is madness!

This crazy idea that a man can date and marry any personality he isn’t comfortable with as long as he gets to submit/correct her to fit into his mold since he’s the head of the house is the crux of marital problems in Nigeria. Your husband met and dated you as a free spirit, now that you’re married he wants to change you into a completely different personality that is unnatural to you.

Even though you submit physically, you’re going to be emotionally damaged and unhappy. You can tweak some things to be more accommodating, like being more reserved when you guys are together and you don’t have to give him a blow by blow account of your day.

Ignore all these people telling you that because you’re now a married woman.... as if your DNA mutates into a whole different personality when you say “I do”.
FamilyRe: Should I Consider Going For An Adoption, since I Am Childless? by doitforyou(f):
OP, I can’t imagine how difficult it is for you right now, especially in a Nigerian marriage without kids. However, I fear for your motivation for adopting a baby. An adopted child does not deserve to be a place holder while your bio child arrives.

Adoption is a rigorous and time consuming (as it should be) process, the easiest and best option for you is if you guys have explored all fertility treatments. Egg donor/egg IVF or progesterone shots to strengthen the lining of your uterus, will be easier and more straightforward than an adoption.
