Northerners, you need to direct your angers to the elites in your region, rather than innocent people. They are not only sucking Nigeria dry but you guys as well in a big way. The pictures of those children and the women on wheel chair is heartbreaking.

Either ways, I hope Nigeria can somehow remove the influence of the God fathers in Politics.

Pls just park well and clear your eyes - is Senator Chris Anyanwu (the sponsor of the bill) a northerner or even a Muslim; how was he and the other southern Christian Senators influenced against their will or held at gunpoint and made to pass this bill?

The bully tactics and tantrums of the Northen elites are well documented . I am sure there is more to this story, a southern man cannot just wake up and decide to pass this kind of law. This is a common sense, so quit the delusion or may I say bias.

No he doesn't deserve a reply. That comment is often used to label intolerant white people filled with hate, some of which I find holds true for most biafras. The average Igbo people might be unhappy about the 'unfair' maginalisations in Nigeria politics but they won't go as far as to support biafra ideologies of hate and intolerance. So I could care less about his thoughts.

This is probably the hardest and most vulnerable job now in the NE, due to increasing IEDs and suicide bombers, so I am happy Nigeria is employing bomb diffusing robot.

Barcanista, he can't just perform any magic within a week, come on man. Your blame should have been directed towards jonathan for not doing his job.

I think it's a bit unfair to blame the current administration for now. Ideally, a proper structure should've been planned by Jonathan to enable a smooth transition between both administration. As it was, there wasn't so effectively the country was like an headless chicken during the past few weeks, hence why it's been really difficult for the current administration to hit the ground running.

I am still very neutral in this and my alliance is equally shared with both tribes. However, It is obvious the Biafra doesn't have the best interests of Igbos in their hearts, so I will rather expose their lies now than allow them to brainwash the innocent people. I am not against the biafra movement but rather with their approach.

If the biafras on here are anything to go by I am happy to maintain my stance. If you have a beautiful heart and not a biased selfish ones, you will be able to acknowledge some of the hatred being displayed by the majority of your biafra members. Biafra is not unique, many countries like Scotland have fought for their right without displaying hate towards the other tribes.
I know the truth is hard to bear, and when you have someone like nnamdi kanu encouraging people to arm themselves then the sane people like me are of no choice but to talk some senses into my fellow Igbos.

In The US and UK it was 10- 12 years until the last century

The Senate on Wednesday passed the Sexual Offences Bill, 2015 which prescribes life imprisonment for rapists and those who have sexual intercourse with children under 11 years. Rapists and those who sexually abuse children would bag life imprisonment while other sexual offenders would also be sentenced to serve various prison terms.

Other sexual offenders will be criminalized, but should you decide to sexually assault a child 11 years and under, your fate is sealed by the bill. It doesn't mean that the legal age of consent is 11, and it doesn't mean that pervs who assault individuals who are above 11 will not be criminalized. I will admit that the bill creates several loopholes, but the title of this thread is very misleading.

This is should be a watertight law, which it isn't hence the problem. Don't know what you are trying to defend.

The law about underage molestation HAS NOT CHANGED...IT IS STILL ILLEGAL TO MOLEST AN UNDER 18 YEAR OLD.

What the law says is that if the underaged child is below 11 years old....the punishment becomes tougher!

Yes it is illegal to molest under 18 child, but perfectly legal to have consented sexual with 11 years old child? They are both wrong.

Most of the wars happening around the world today is caused by religion intolerances. Muslims are believed and known to have strong faith and do almost ANYTHING to protect and fight for their religion. You need to be careful.

Imagine if Christians are like that huh, doing anything to protect their faith. You are not looking at it from a christian perspective, but we don't matter because we are not violent by faith.
