justwise: Sorry to hear this but i'm not surprised that you got taken in, you come across to me as somebody with a good heart that sees things in 'black & white'.

Sometimes you need to be cynical for your own good, like in this case....if somebody who is intending to apply for Canadian visa as a student can not afford the application fee....that cynical part of you will start wondering how will this person afford flight ticket, school fees, accommodation and feeding in Canada? Alarm bell should have starting ringing at that point.

I hope you get your money back and this will also serve as a warning to others here.
Justwise is too wise to be just..

Are you going for M.sc or B.sc??
TravelRe: German Embassy And Visa by dolpaz: 4:07pm On Sep 30, 2014
Hello Guys,

I noticed somthing about germany structure of schooling. For Bachelors, Some Hochschule and Fachhochschule requires at least B1 level for Bsc while most Universities requires B2. except for english taught courses.

I have series of emails to read and respond to, and trust me, over 12 of them asked for Minimum of B1 and either IELTS/TOEFL for english/german class. It really got me thinking if everybody here have learned the german language up to B1.

For Master's studiengange, they asked for a Minimum of B2 except english courses which requires IELTS as usual.. Now, apart from Rhine Waal and some schools which I felt comfy with. Is there a way to gain admission with A1/A2 then complete the language course over there in Germany??

This thing can be so tiring jare cry cry

Generalkorex: Good morning all
you guys had been doing good work here. I have been following this thread for a while now.
I would like to go for an undergraduate course in germany
but most of the school offering the course I intended to study offer it in both german and english[50/50 in some schools]. You guys already know the requirements for undergraduate course already that its tofel/ietls,or one year in a recognised university in naija or studienkolege.
What would you advice me to do?
Should I sit for jamb next year and do a year in university before starting my processing
or I should go to goetheze school[german school] in lagos so I could do the studenkolege of a thing.
Thanks
danke
gracias.
Oga, For you to study in germany at the undergrad level, you'll probably need a minimum of B2, attend studienkollege and that may take some time. this case has been treated some pages back. it would have been better if you can flip back to page 300 and read from there. you may end up advising peeps sef.

Anyway, my suggestion for you is apply for Jamb, get your 100 level transcript coupled with TOEFL, you are good to go..
Make sure you have your 8040 euros(1.8million) ready or you have someone in germany who can stand as a sponsor for you...

Geimensam sind wir stark
Alles Gute

xij38580: Please pardon my lengthy post

I graduated 2011 basically studying something I had a zero interest in. Since graduating, I've worked in the IT field. I currently work as a developer. I want to go back to school and learn some basics, some advanced concepts and as well get a degree not just for now but for the future too. Some people say in IT it doesn't matter what you study but I've seen a case firsthand of what stopped someone from assuming a director position was his lack of formal education in an IT related field.

I've tried applying for Master's programs but the requirement is usually an issue, in terms of undergraduate degree requirement. I was in the social sciences. So I've settled that I'd spend 3 years to bag an Undergraduate degree. I plan to resume next year September or January. This sounds crazy and unfortunately, its a crazy that has estranged me to some people.

I've seen some schools in Germany that I would like to apply to. However, I do have some questions that I would appreciate your inputs on. Thanks.

1)For a 3 year program do I have to show proof that I have the funds for my upkeep for the entire 3 years i.e. 650*36 = €23400 ?

2)I earn a modest salary and currently save most of my salary in my Mutual fund account. I do some freelancing and this also helps a lot. As it stands my current savings by March 2015 should be sufficient to show proof of funds for 1 year plus. I currently don't plan on using a sponsor, but if need be can I use a maternal cousin as my sponsor ? He shares and understands my aspirations and he's willing to help fund some part. We however bear different surnames , and he also lives in Europe. Is this a potential red flag ?

3) I would also like to gain a permanent residency status without cutting corners. The requirement is 5 years continuous stay in Germany legally. Is it possible for me to remain in Germany after my program to work ? I believe that opportunity abounds and with God and preparations I should be able to land a job or create a start up. Is this possible ?

Thanks for your patience.
Hello, I will take my time to respond to your question IMO..

If you plan going for Masters degree in IT and your undergrad degree is not IT related, ** RED FLAG
my advise in this aspect is if you can go for business computing..most german school has that degree.. apply with your 100 level result/transcript for B.sc in Wirtschaftsinformatik known as Business computer science. send an email to your preferred school/department, then take it from there.

1) For you to stay and survive in germany, you'll require a total of 8040 euros yearly (approx 1.8million naira) in your blocked/student account. since you'll be going for a three years course, it means you'll be needing 8040 x 3years 24120 euros. you'll be spending at least 750 euros monthly..it includes feeding, accommodation, e.t.c.

2) Your sponsor surname does not matters, as long as he lives in germany, earn a good salary from 1500 euros monthly, pay his tax, good record, crime free..then he can sponsor you..I repeat, he MUST live in germany and not EUROPE.

3) Oga, get to germany first, permanent residency will take care of itself.

My 2 spoons (meine zwei loffel)

Other ogas can also help contribute..

jaydaniels: Hi guys, I must say that i have to appreciate the contributions of some kind hearted fellows on this thread for their invaluable contributions. The efforts of some members of this thread to share useful thoughts is the zenith of Patriotism. Getting Help from your fellow brothers and sisters for free is nothing but a luxury in this our great country, Nigeria. To say that I gained a lot from this thread is nothing but an understatement!

Im delighted to inform you guys that I was issued my visa today. I was interviewed on the 19th of August, and after the long wait, I was instructed by a mail i received yesterday to come to the embassy with my passport. I shall be in deutscheland next week By God's grace.

Im gonna book my flight between now and tomorrow.. im going with turkish airline because its the most affordable i could find, tho from what i heard, they delay before the boarding of the connecting flight. Any further suggestions as regards airlines will be highly welcomed.

My advice to those still awaiting their visas is just one word "surulere" 'patience'..... If u havent gone for your interview yet, please get prepared by being acquainted with the likely questions to be asked. These questions have already been treated in recent pages here. As for those who have already been interviewed, u guys need the patience more. the issuance of your visa depends on the city in which your school is located. As long as your interview went well, and your documents are authentic, then you have got nothing to worry about. but i will advice you to mail them and ask for the status of your application if you havent gotten a reply from them after 21 days.

pls feel free to ask questions and make comments.i shall respond as soon as i can. for now, i just have set up my mind on how to face the battle ahead of me,and also to improve on my deutsche.

vielen dank, auf wiederhoren, tschuss!
Congrats bro, the wait is over. I double tap and fall into your well of testimony
