1. Let me start by using my favourite pun "..German sausages are the wurst" I dont mean their sausages are bad or worst but they are just the wurst, do you get what I mean? or what am I saying? am confused OK, simply Wurst=Sausages. you dig?
2. Germans are not only thrifty with their cash but also their words, so they don't waste it. Small talks like "how are you?", "how is everything?", "oh, you are quite stunning" will earn you a strange, 'why-is-this-guy-asking-this-sort-of-question' expression. Don't complement or greet like that, its not in their custom. use your energy for other things.
3. They can be the most organised society but weirdly, they can't queue to save their life. (think Lagos) They share this trait in common with the pre-BRT Lagos. so next time you are there waiting for a bus or in the supermarket with civilized intents on your mind, it will do you great to strike the concept of a queue off your mind and use your African strength to shove your way to the front, if you don't want to sleep there.

The common reply we're used to is 'NO' you can't study in germany with your waec and ND results.. My new question is.. With my knowledge of B1 german language,waec,nd ND certificates can't I get admission to any preparatory/introductory course(Studienkollegs)..pls ans. ASAP

1) Its gonna total a sum of 8040euros
2) its gonna be ready before collection of visa
But make sure u transfer it twice I.e 4020 euros each so u can pay a lesser bank commission of 0.5%

Eke40seven: I will choose my words carefully in giving my opinion.
The school is located in Iserlohn a town of about 95,000 people. A good town generally with good leisure and some industries, since its close to the Ruhr Westphalia industrial region. It also has some technical institute, two tertiary institutions, the subject school included. it is just about under 12 miles from Dortmund (say, Oworonshoki- Ifako in Lagos) about 15 mins (not accurate o) drive considering a better accessibility than Lagos. Note that Dortmund is also a major city and an industrial hub. So I assume it is a good prospect as far as Job and other economic considerations are concerned.
In terms of rankings and rating, (am being careful here so that I won't ruffle feathers) from all indications, it may not be a top notch school comparatively but not too bad generally. Just maybe within the first 130 or thereabout of the over 350 or so tertiary schools in the country. However, there is an official German ranking (used by DAAD) which estimates the strength of your school by faculty or department, which is more indicative in choosing a specific course of study. Alternatively you can register your enquiries at "toytown-germany" (Google it). On that forum, you can meet English speaking Germans and other international students who may be willing to give you a clearer, unbiased though sometimes critical view of the school. Make your view clear to them by writing plainly so that they can understand and answer you well.

dolpaz: Bros, According to one of our guys who is already in germany, Emeka..its advisable to buy your stuffs from Nigeria. Jeans and clothes are expensive. most especially phones and gadget. mind you, the prices will be in euros. also, go with alot of shoes cos according to him, there are no cobbler in germany. so once your shoes get spoilt, you just have to throw them away and get another one. shoes and winter jacket are expensive as well. i think around 50-70 euros. so imagine spending 12,000 naira to buy a single winter jacket when u can get it for less at yaba or idumota.
Go with enough Garri and some food items as well. though i heard some kenyans inport stuffs that looks like Garri/semo.. its called griese or so.
you save cash if you like chicken and wine/beer, cos those are the cheapest food/drinks in germo. I also heard its better you go with an android phone so you can access your student portals easily.

As for Jobs, the first step is: do u speak german? it goes a long way to determine the kind of job you will get. also, which city are you gonna be staying. some cities are competitive and expensive like Berlin, Bremen, Dortmund and Stuttgart. you can get a good student job cos your visa allows that, but understanding deutsch is the key to getting a good one.

if not, u may end up getting a menial job, but it may not be enough to sustain you. coupled with your blocked account cash, you should be good to go cos you can withdraw around 650 - 700 euros per month.

Watch ur spending. be mindful of pretty german ladies. (they like ice cream and chocolate, each cost as much as 20euros). if you are so conversative, you may be able to live on 200euros per month excluding accomodation.

"guy relax.even with 6o euro u can survive monthly.more over u think u will have time for 3 square mill?food is the cheapest thing here.except u cant cook in your hostel.the most expensive thing here is accomodation not food.full chicken(superhunn)is 2 euro=420.rice sef no reach 1 euro here.
if ur garri fininsh just go aldi or markauf ask of grease na 25 cent just by 4 if u like swallow that still 1 euro.food is cheap here my man.
the only issue is there education is intensive,and u need alot of self study.so u guys shouldnt worry about surviving.

Eke40seven: I observed that the trend here is to criticise those who asks questions that had been previously answered. I admit some do it needlessly out of ignorance. However, there are questions which may require answers from different people because of individual experiences. For instance, experience of life in Germany may differ for different individual living in different regions. I believed that life in the east may differ from life in the west. We should also note that situations can change. info that was relevant a year ago may be useless today (e.g the new minimum wage of about €8/hr to be implemented nationwide by 2015). Also, for questions like this, the more answers you get, the merrier and more informed decisions that is made. We should also note that Google may not do justice to questions of this nature sometimes, it is forum like this that sometimes provide the info that builds Google's reputation for giving answers. Sorry for my lengthy contribution.
