What of the value of the car? It seems to me like people especially on this thread don't consider this when analysing returns on ehailing.

If I buy a 2m vehicle I can sell at 1.3-1.4m, I only need to make 600k to break even. Its that simple.
And na 2months E go take you to make that amount seff.

I don't think it's compulsory yet. Cos the only documents I have, are my car papers and drivers license.
And I'm not getting anything yet. Unless I got blocked.

But if you can afford it, get it then.

I think there's a theory that states that sex once a woman is fertile guarantees a female child and anything post ovulation is most likely going to yield a male child.

I don't know how true or effective it is sha grin

And any number of children is okay as long as there's means to take good care of them. cheesy
Absolute Fallacy.

Anything post ovulation is just a lubricant/catalyst that fastens the woman's routine/periodic monthly discharge.

All these things penalizing drivers for riders' missing items is kinda wrong to me. How do you expect drivers to know of such items when another rider might have taken it or the rider might have even misplaced the items somewhere else?

Not that such items are kept at the driver's custody.
If Rider reports a missing item, bolt will send you an in-app message. They block you if you don't reply back on time.

You are mostly right but your rating may not necessarily change in 1hr.

No one knows when Bolt decides to change the rating we actually see.

I have picked one guy who mistakenly rated me one star. It was right in my presence and I was expecting my rating to drop. It didn't happen till after three or 4 days.

Another instance was one time bolt was warning me that my rating was getting too low. I was on 4.78 or so and was wondering what the stupid app was saying. Couple of days later, rating dropped to 4.60.

Another instance happened just yesterday. As at when I ended one trip and the rider brought out his phone to rate me, my rating was showing 4.9 on his app. I was on 4.83.

Used my wife's phone to book myself and cancel today because my client did not show up was going too high and my rating showed 4.8 on her app. Guess what, I'm still on 4.83 but I'm very sure the rating has dropped below 4.8 just that bolt is yet to show me what my current rating is.
You're mostly right also.
But That 1star might have pushed off another 1 or 2star from your cumulative. Maybe that's why your ratings didn't change.

Bolt approximates ratings between 5 and 0. Anything above 5 is approximated to 1, while anything below 5 is approximated to 0.
Riders can only see 1 decimal while drivers can see 2 decimals.

If your ratings is 4.84, riders can only see 4.8.
If your rating is 4.85/4.86, riders can only see 4.9 cos it has been approximated to the nearest decimal.

Pearl1910:
No sir,

First, while Uber calculates moving average for the last 500 trips...meaning every new rated trip can change ur rating if what u have just been rated is different from what that rating is substituting, Bolts rating is based on 40trips, so ur rating will not change until u have 40trips.

Secondly,
In Uber if u have 501 rated trips d first rating is ignored and average of d last 500 is calculated to determine your current rating.
But in Bolt, ur current rating is the average of previous rating and average rating accumulated in last 40 trips.
i.e [4.8 + (w+x+y+z/4)]/2. if u were rated 4times in d last 40 trips.
So nothing is ignored

I wish I could explain this better.
Kanuisagoat take note grin
100% false.

I see Uber app as a hardware, while I see bolt app as a software. Even Indriver app looks stronger than bolt app.

You can open your UBER app, check balance, check your trip history, and some other things without Data/network, but you can't even open the bolt app or do anything without data/network on your phone.

The way the app works is why good or bad ratings don't reflect immediately. But within an hour or two, it will show.

After your 1st trip today, just check your gross and your net immediately. If the trip is 1.5k which is gross, your net will also be showing 1.5k. but after 10/20/30mins, your actual net will show. This is same thing that happens with ratings.

The app seem programmed to update intermittently.

To clear yourself, book yourself with another phone, end the ride and rate yourself 1*, then go home.
Your ratings won't change immediately, but it must change before 1hr.
Do it again the next day, your ratings will also change.

There's nothing like "after every 40trips" bro.

Please what's the difference between Bolts rating system and Ubers rating system? Maybe when u think about it you will understand better.
Nothing.

Uber is a moving average of last 500 rated trips.
Bolt is a moving average of last 40 rated trips.

This's simple logic bro.

Can you put this into practice with Bolt app?
Uber's server still keeps records for 24hrs for a rider to rate after a trip. But with bolt once you don't rate immediately or few minutes after, FORGET IT, you won't see anything to rate.

So try to take a trip with you rider's app and don't rate immediately, close the app and open it 30 mins later(this is too much but you said 24 hrs, so let's use 30 mins) and see if you can see the ratings.

Kanuisagoat this is for you.
I remember vividly that you were for "riders only affect your ratings" which I countered with my experience.

My experience was that during the Uber's 3%, I took bolt as trash and never opened the app unless there was a waiting period on Uber.
And all the requests I got on Bolt during my waiting time were never started, I cancelled all because all the riders never kept to time.
These happened for a long period (not taking/completing) any trip on Bolt while last completed trip was weeks back before I decided to open the app again.

It was after a cancellation that I saw my rating dropped.

If this happened while I was still actively using the app, I would have said one ogbanje rated me low, but nah, last completed trip was weeks back.
And this must be during season rite? (say... Xmas period)

Why would you want to save the whole of your earnings in one month.

Salary earners don't save everything they earn in a month. Infact, no one does except they have other sources of income.

They also have to transport to work, pay rent, feed, pay children's school fees, repair their vehicle when it breaks down, e.t.c
Sure! You're right bro.
But then, lets not make our analysis of the hustle with our dashboard.

It doesn't correlate.
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by donfortune48(m): 6:45am On Mar 23, 2021
BAZ001 knows what he is saying.
He's not saying that you can't net 300k a month.
He's simply saying that you may not be able to save half of that in a month. Which is true.

It takes an average of 3k fuel to net 10k per day. Which means it'll take 90k fuel to net 300k.

Most drivers spends an average of 1k on food daily. Which is 30k a month.

Within a month, car will go for routing oil change and some repairs. Say... 20k in a month.

This will bring the 300k net down to 160k at hand.

And for you to save this 160k, you have to work your ass out 6am to 8pm for at least 26days in a month. Without having any miscellaneous expenses within that month.
Which is quite strenuous and can greatly affect your health.

The hustle is quite better than over 50% jobs in lagos.
But you have to show commitment and have a good savings culture to make something tangible out of it.
