They have not placed an order for A220 and it takes about 2 years between a firm order and delivery. They are starting out with ATR-72 turbo props.

I am buying from first express aluminum manufacturing co. LTD.

One of the biggest aluminum companies in nnewi

They are going to install it themselves
First express is good company atleast you are sure of the guage you are paying for...they get their coils from first aluminum i think...well they used to but not sure now...

I am not sure why everyone is shouting 0,55gauage....0,45 would do the job easily... back in the days while I was IT student at BEST aluminum .... colorcoat or colotek from first aluminum 0,55 are recommended mostly for metal rafters/industrial buildings with highwalls or for places with excessive winds...
Times may have changed but still....again if you have money to pay for extra guage who are mine...till next time....

Why, I have it on one of mine building since 2016 no single leak till date. The corrugation may be the problem, though I brought mine directly from first aluminum in Lagos.
Offcourse faulty currugation machines...the bends and curves are very fragile same as handling....poor handling causes more damage..

Actually it depends on many factors, the airport used etc
Just know you should budget at 2500 dollars.

I did two covid 19 test in Nigeria because kenya and Mauritius demanded different dates of test which 50,400 each.

You should know the cheapest fee for booking in at a government designated hotel for hotel is 1300 dollars depending on the hotels the higher the cost. They are 3,4 and five star hotels, mine is 4 star so it's definitely more than 1300 dollars.

Please note the payment covers, food, tests including three covid 19 tests you will undergo when you get to Mauritius which is first day of landing,7th day and last day of quarantine.

The flight cost depends on your taste, and the period.

Please make sure to check Mauritius travel guide because the laws changes everytime which might include price etc.
2500 usd almost 1.3m naira just to visit Mauritius ? While i donot dictate to anyone how they spend their money...this is excessive and expensive....wasteful for me

jedisco:
The post you referenced was one the young man had edited. I have quoted his original post. Look at those who replied him earlier and you'd see the difference.

This issue has dragged on for a reason. But then it's surprising some folks don't see nothing wrong with certain statements. A very good way of checking if a statement is discriminatory is by inserting a word that describes your person and see if it still hurts.

From his initial post, I'd give certain examples with blank spaces. Fill them in with a personal word and see if it's right.

E.g
I know all races have people of low IQ but we need to be weary of ____ race
I know all Nigerian ethnicities have ugly people but we need to be weary of ______
I know all Nigerian ethincities have poorly trained youths but we need to be weary of ____

You can go on and on. How anyone can justify such statement is truly surprising. Of course he cheekily did not name an ethnicity but even a 3 year old knows what he meant. If folks did not quickly stand up to that statement, some others would have been happy to cherry pick more examples to paint people of that ethnicity in a bad light.

What's more annoying is when you call out such statements, people defend their stance by saying I have bought goods from someone from that ethnicity therefore I'm not a tribalist. Or my cook is from that ethnicity therefore I'm not a tribalist. Sounds familiar? Even Shekau can give such examples to excuse terrorism.

Abroad where he says he's coming from, if such statements are made in reference to him as a Nigerian or a black man, he would rightly regard it as racial profiling or racism. But the little man is here playing ostrich.

There's a difference between being matured and being a baby. I don't need an apology but if he saw the need to edit his post, that means he knows he erred. Maturity is being a bigger man and owning up to ones faults. We all make mistakes.

My point is simple- what's wrong is wrong and there's no excusing it. You were duped by one person does not mean you drag a whole ethnicity into it.

BankeSmalls:
You can keep sounding self righteous because you already had the plan to blame someone else for your laxity. You failed to count your goods and you are here still blaming the seller when you should have turned back the truck at the road to recount.

I hate it when people come online to spread hate because of their own failure to do the right things. A nairalander even offered you lower prices, but noooo, you must go buy from those whom you don't like, whom you claimed had cheated you many times just to come and cry here?

Nigerian ingenuity, these guys are now converting 1924 Mercedes trucks to tippers. They do this by building a bigger bucket for the truck locally, then fitting the trucks with tipping mechanism after upgrading the engine functions. They do all these locally. The trucks are now popular and supplies sand and stones to many locations in the east.
Oga....these trucks have been available for ages ago...infact my father owned one early 2000 operating at Aba....they have bigger engines than normal 911 and 1513 built by anamco...

You can try to paint ur image differently , its a known fact about some Nigerian artisans trying to cheat and steal raw materials at site. We hv a bad image already that we can only try to redeem by simple change of attitude in the business world . Note : dont think ur the only Nigerian abroad or well traveled , i hv also traveled well enough to countries and hv my own perspective to this things. The said client of his is a Nigerian resident in Usa , bought 980 sheets of which only 600 was used, the Nigerian was shocked and expressed his displeasure to the roof seller who narrated this story to me and advised me to secure my roofing sheet tightly to avoid being stolen , So calm down , we all know ourselves and typical behaviors.
I am not here to claim anything or compete who traveled or not...it is just a simple thing...more especially while dealing with foreigners avoid soiling Nigerians name in the form of generalization ...if your artisans stole from you...it is not in the character of Nigerians but in the character of those that did it.....we can try to redeem our image while and after you have damaged it by labeling everyone.....this is a waste time...let us focus on buildings and builfing techniques instead..
have a good day

Fingers crossed...the funny thing about the whole merry go round...years ago sallumlines was known for carrying cars with overload with no issues apart from they barely have spaces....always fully booked and only two voyages per month...
Grimaldi was there more voyages and slightly cheaper but less patronage...

Fast-forward Grimaldi put Sallaumlines out of jobs from hamburg port due to low patronage ...sallaum stopped carrying loadedcars and finally left hamburg...Grimaldi now doing same...same fate for Nmt ....they all come and leave..

This directive is so disheartening and came just on very short notice. I am very sad to hear this.
I wish all of us could boycott these shipping companies so they would reconsider their position.
It happened before....people tried to boycott. They changed their minds and allowed loaded cars but only small items...now again no more loading..not even extra winter tyres.
One more thing only Grimaldi plies this route with more turn arounds....sallum left hamburg years ago ..more like monopoly ..now people will go back to container shipping..

Dalu nwanne....jisike!

spyder880:
The splashes on the walls are old, some happened before the concrete flooring because of two reasons,

1. There was no water collector channels, so the water just hit the ground and splashed on the walls.

2. The filling sand used is a deep reddish brown colour, making the splashes more pronounced.

Other splashes happened much later, after the painting of the walls because;

1. Another filling was done with imported top soil, rich in manure which was placed in the flower beds to aid flower and plants growth.

2. We shouldn't have painted the outside walls during the rains knowing that we are using white all through, (I warned about this then) I had planned to do the outside walls later, notice that these splashes didn't happen on the fence, I painted the fence after the rains, by the time the rains will return next year, the flowers would have grown to cover the place.

I know that the walls wouldn't have been splashed this much if we placed the water collectors before the painting of the outside walls. Painting the lower portion with glossy paints might be a temporary fix, but since we had painted the outside colour with matt, glossy paints might peel after two years since its sitting on matt and not on wall primers.

The option of tiling that lower portion is also good, it will require some new costs in this era of rising cement and tiles costs. I will talk to my clients about it.

Thank you for your contributions Sir, your points are well noted.
PropertiesRe: The Making Of The "Owerri Royal Manor" by dongc(m): 10:50am On Nov 22, 2020
Noticed the stain happened before the concrete floors....newer splashes ? Or just the old ones?

My oga...just like oga Hajj suggested using gloss....when the flower grows...rainwater will/would still stain the upper/higher part depending height of the flower beds...

Jisike nwanne...you are doing well..

spyder880:
Good morning Sir, I had the plans to paint the lower portion with a different colour when I started this building, I even placed the belts at a height to separate my lower colour with the paint for the rest of the house. It was the decision by my clients to fill up the compound so we can redirect rain water flow to the outside that swallowed the lower portion of the house. (See attached pictures of my wall separator as we were still building, see how high it was.)

Tiling the lower portion is good, but some people dont like the different look, when compared to painting the lower portion, also consider the cost of extra tiles round such a big house. The rain water issue on the lower walls was a temporary issue, made worse because of the type of brown sand that was used on filling the flower bed when the rains were still falling heavily in the rainy season. I had wanted to delay that painting till the rains stopped, I am sure the staining cannot happen next rainy season if the flowers grow enough to absorb some of the impact of the rain hitting the ground around the walls. Then again, my clients agreed to install the water collector much later, if we had put the water collector when it was raining, the water would have been channelled away from the walls.

The good news is that I have bought paints and we plan to repaint the lower portion with gray. Now would have been the proper time to paint thie whole outside walls, not then.

Thanks for your suggestions Sir, I appreciate your inputs a lot. Happy weekend Sir.
