understand is the Nigerian terrain for doing business no good. Unfortunately for we the consumers, we pay the price but those importers are enjoying it. I don't sell these stuff, all I do is buy and work with them. To import the machines you talked about and get the mould making these designs no be small thing around here

This is someone else thread i do not want to derail it with irrelevance but trust me i know about metal works...spent more than 5years at pressverket...i am highly skilled engineer and work at a known car company in Gothenburg...google that you will find out which....

you know this....same reason i was wondering if they were already engraved before they are imported....so in that case someone is just engraving them wherever they are bringing it from and call it new product just to reap off people....same sheet metal they normally use just different design for hiked up price...we are just far behind.

they are new commodity in the market so the importers are making a kill now. The quality of the materials is far different from what's readily available. Give it a year and it will be the normal everyone is used to

if you are saying for yourself...did you consider so many other small vendors without the means of good credit facility you enjoy from suppliers?if it works for me then ok...everyone else should live with it...i am not vendor or supplier.....while i was building my own house...smallest supplies they mostly request mobilization which is understandable ..

I can only speak for myself. Paint supply is not that capital intensive except when supplying a mini estate and even at that I still have good credit rating from my suppliers.
The limitation to supplying and getting payment after is the fact that some clients may tell you at the point of delivery they're no longer interested or not even pick calls. I've been told to bring a paint and after running around to get it done the person had already forgotten and told me she no longer needed it.
There are some bored people also that pick up numbers online and start posing like interested clients wasting one's time with never ending questions to keep them company.
It's when there's financial commitment from the client that one is assured of their seriousness and even at that, it's by God's grace one gets their full balance. Although I have been extremely fortunate to deal with the best set of people though I know some aren't so lucky.
I would like a strong message be sent through decisive action on such cases with updates here to serve as a deterrent.

youtube would cost you a lot time...again you have to learn film editing and content preparation...constant filming...investment in Gopro camera maybe drone to get better angles or views.. high elevation. i believe you watch construction videos on youtube....

In those places you mentioned, adequate maintainance update is done. Tiling to the ceiling gives you peace of mind from the moisture and maintenance is limited.
Naijas want low maintenance. Just my opinion sir.

i feel your pain.... building my last house i had same issue with the guy making all the windows...he told me all sorts of nonsense story so i paid this guy 100% of his money without a single window made ...this guy was highly recommended by everyone such a shame....in fact i had to pay someone else to make new windows....he is yet to balance me my money till today .i am far away i can only shout on the phone...people i sent cannot do much other than go there shout and disturb .locking him up was waste of time .

That welder, I have refused to refer him to anyone here despite the 4 friends that have chatted me to link them up with him. The guy really caused me too much stress on this job, delayed the job for over 7 months and still have some uncompleted portions like the wood overlay. I have been in his shop transporting myself to Onitsha to chase him around, reported him to his union and nearly called the police on him (we know how ineffective that one is in Nigeria) The things we see in this job my brother, it's not easy.
