donbachi:Today ,Lagos remains the best case study for revenue and development, even for other African countries. You are the real mumu. |
khello5:"Tinubu should just keep ruling Lagos state as president and Lord. PEACE" Even if this is the case, how many states including your Osun sate can compete with Lagos? Even as a country capital,Lagos was nowhere in terms of revenue, till Tinubu stepped in.Today Lagos is boasting of N1.7trillion budget. I had rather someone increase my revenue by 7000% and collect 10%,than to remain stagnant and poor.Today Lagos remains the richest in Nigeria. How else do you measure capacity to perform other than track record? Nonsensical nonsense. Nigerians better receive common sense. |
Just for the records concerning Tinubu's age: Tinubu's mother Abibatu Mogaji, died on 15 June 2014, at the age of 96. |
CyynthiaKiss:This your commentary is full of stupidity Because you are a Christain,so anything to balance the equation for Muslims is terrorism and Islamisation? Did the governor remove Sunday or Saturday as a work free day? Shame on you! ![]() |
slimghost:And what can a state or country do without adequate revenue? It's high time we faced the realities. It is only a revenue revolution that can turn Nigeria's fortunes around. Jagaban has the capacity and antecedents to do just that! |
Skyview01:Tinubu brought the revenue revolution to Lagos. Despite being a former country capital, Lagos revenue was no where until Tinubu came and turned around the fortunes of Lagos. Today Lagos can boast of N1.7trillion budget. Also in terms of good governance and development, no state in Nigeria beats Lagos. |
seunmsg:Great. All we need is a revenue revolution in Nigeria,to turn our fortunes around. Tinubu did it in Lagos. According to world bank,to solve the problem of poverty and underdevelopment,a country's tax to GDP ratio should be at least 15%. Nigeria's current tax to GDP ratio is barely 3%!!! |
PresidentAtiku:Trash! Where has politics of religion led us? Kaduna is moving ahead with a Muslim Muslim leadership. |
poppincash:Don't mind the clown. |
ugodson:Thank you. I wonder how many states in Nigeria can compete with Lagos in terms of relative development and revenue mobilisation. People should research how much was Lagos IGR before Tinubu stepped in. Some ignoramus say after all Lagos was the capital of Nigeria and I ask them how much was Lagos IGR as the capital of Nigeria, before Tinubu became governor. Google is your friend. Some people would rather ejaculate over the 5% or 10% alpha beta is collecting as a consultant(money that could have gone to any other consultant) than rejoice over the over 7000% increase in Lagos IGR. If a King in any clime rules for life, irrespective of his performance, I do not see why a performing Tinubu dynasty can not rule for life in Lagos. Mention your state before you argue with me. ![]() |
Burruchaga71:Which state not "captured"can compete with lagos in terms of development? Are you aware of the very low revenue of Lagos before Tinubu turned things around? Rubbish. ![]() |
iamyemiakins:Is it not an achievement? 1. Tax revenue from twitter,Facebook,Instagram etc. 2. Job opportunities for Nigerians that will work in the local offices. 3. Preservation of our dignity Kudos to the FG. |

sotall:Exchange rate is a function of dollar supply. Our major source of dollar is oil. You cannot expect anything better than what we have now. Only mischief makers think otherwise. |

Gentleman, start from your state or national Assembly, we will support you. Presidency is not meant for novice, you must be a very well known, nationally accepted, acclaimed and successful politician, businessman or public servant. Your acceptance must cut across regions. If your vision is for Nigeria and not your state, then start as a national assembly legislature. You can sponsor appropriate bills to drive your vision and make Nigeria better. Take my advice and thank me later. |
Parties should adopt online voting,to checkmate the excuse of cost and insecurity. |
I never knew many people on Nairaland are this daft! S226 trillion global debt and they are attributing it to Nigeria. Whereas Nigeria's share is just $87billion!. In fact Nigeria should borrow more for development, based on global total. SMH ![]() |
Soso990240:Nigeria made Oshimhen @under 17 world cup. Nigeria needs him,he needs Nigeria! |
treesun:How many of the people you've mentioned occupied elected presidential positions? The topmost leadership positions require a lot of work and leadership experience, except by coup, special arrangement or default. No sane person should argue otherwise. For instance, only an insane person would vote for 35yr old fresh university graduate that wants to be president of Nigeria, over say a 64yr old Oshibajo, just because the former is young!! There will always be exceptions, but most developed nations are led by more experienced, older folks. I beg, presidency is not meant for "kids"! By the way,how many of the so called young presidents really succeeded? |
treesun:Self illusion . What new ideas has Yahaya Bello introduced in governance that older ones like Sanwo Olu,ElRufai,,Zulum,Wike, etc ,never have? Presidency is not a technical position,it is a leadership position that requires a lot of leadership experience. Let the young occupy the technical positions, like law making, minister of finance, agric, technology, budget and financial planning, etc. A 35yr old can only become the CEO of his own or family company, it is very rare to see a 35yr old becoming the CEO of a public or well structured company. You must pass through the ranks and that comes with years of work and leadership experience. |
Is everything all about riches? Can you sit down with your mates that are now say Economists and debate how to move Nigeria forward, economically? Choosing a smart career for professional self fulfilment is not the same thing as pursuing riches. Your smart classmates that are also very successful doctors, accountants, engineers, etc can never regret their chosen career, whether you're richer than them or not. Or you think every musician is successful? Rubbish ![]() |
kingphilip:Good bless you. Exactly my thought. |
Adesina18111:Olodo! What has Rohr achieved in 5yrs plus?Bronze medal? Eguavon achieved bronze in less than a year! |

Long overdue. It's high-time we stopped wasting money on foreign coaches.Club football has various nationalities, with different native languages, that play,so the coach can come from anywhere. A national coach should be part of our national identity. No top national team uses foreign coach. We should stop wasting forex on foreign coaches.Since we had been doing that, what have we achieved? Nigerians are among the best in other fields of endeavor, globally, why should sports be different? Let us use the forex we waste on foreign coaches to develop and expose our local coaches, locally and internationally. We should learn to fail or succeed with our local coaches, even if it's going to take us 20 years to develop one local world-class coach! Do we even have choice? what successes have we achieved with foreign coaches?? Enough of short cuts to |
