As promised, I've started the thread. And I've posted the shopping list www.nairaland.com/1482239/30-day-fertility-diet-challenge |
There are a million things to take into consideration on the journey to conception. In my mind, one of the most important is a healthy food lifestyle. It's important that we make the right food choices along the way, and sometimes we need to take the time to clear out some of the litter and reset our bodies. This is one of those times. The foods, smoothies, fruits and methods outlined in the challenge can, and should, become part of your daily lifestyle (only to be halted when pregnant or nursing). This challenge is not meant to work miracles-only God can perform those. However, you can expect to lose some weight, and in general, be healthy. Who knows, you might even be pleasantly surprised! Note: if you don't want to lose weight, reduce the amount of oatmeal you eat on the challenge. Have one more helping of one meal each day. In the next couple of days, I will post some basic rules for the challenge. I know it's hard to follow a set of rules for any period of time, but it will be worth it in the end. Now, I'm posting the full shopping list for the 30 days. If it is not on the list, or not in the recipes which will be posted, please do not eat it, at least for 30 days. Exceptions to this rule are herbs and fertility aids like royal jelly, blackstrap molasses, etc. Shopping List for the 30DFC https://thefruitfulkitchen./2013/10/17/30-day-fertility-diet-challenge/ Rules for the 30DFC https://thefruitfulkitchen./2013/10/18/30-day-fertility-diet-challenge-rules/ Update: New 30DFC-compatible recipes up http:// thefruitfulkitchen./2013/10/27/ carrot-and-apple-oatmeal-muffins/ http:// thefruitfulkitchen./2013/10/27/ healthified-okro/ http:// thefruitfulkitchen./2013/10/27/all- purpose-efo-riro/ Update: @all, new recipes up http://thefruitfulkitchen./2013/10/28/toasted-couscous-and-aromatic-chicken-curry/ http://thefruitfulkitchen./2013/10/28/baked-grapefruit-oats/ http://thefruitfulkitchen./2013/10/28/bean-and-pumpkin-chili/ Update for week 1: Day 1. @Muma, praise God. Yes ooooo, your bfp is next! |
Congrats, Diamondring, I wish you h&h 9 months! God is great! 9 years isn't beans o! @Nictos, how far now? We are missing you o. |
@honiepie, omalicha nwa, asampete nwanyi oma, you look really good. I love the eyes! @safe, I hope you're fine? Show now please. @Oct20, I'm fine o. Thanks for asking. |
@Joyful mum, Amen and Amen. It's actually a wake up call to us that nothing happens without God intending for it to happen. Thank you for sharing that, I know a lot of us here will learn from it. Hugs |
Yayyy@GenBuhari. Thank God. May He lead the doctors to make the best decision. |
@Honiepie, congrats on your exams. I pray that your results are excellent. Happy Birthday to your man, please send my cake and nkwobi through DHL. Have fun, you guys. |
@joyful mum, I couldn't agree more. The key is not placing methods we use to TTC above God's power and grace. Most of us will tell you 'this is what we did differently' to conceive, but I'm yet to read a testimony of someone who didn't put God first. After all, most of us were led to make the choices we did after series of prayer and fasting. The thing with diet, herbs and medicine is this: IT WILL ONLY WORK IF GOD WANTS IT TO WORK! If not, the effect on your body and general health might well be as if one is eating kpomo (zero nutrition). Having said that, God also put certain foods and herbs on this earth to help us. It is of no argument that when men maintain a healthy diet for at least 3 months, their is normally a positive change in their swimmers's count, motility, or that women's eggs can be replenished with some herbs and a good diet, etc. in your last post, you taught us about using yoghurt and cranberry cereal to help heal something. That was you being proactive. That's because it's human nature to try and convince ourselves that we have done everything we can do. We can't help it. Please, my sisters, if a herb worked for you, or a diet change worked for you, or a drug worked for you, realise that it was just an instrument God used to help you. After all, no one person can claim to be the first to realise that _______ food or herb works for _______ condition. |
What Smiler said. And liver, sweet potatoes, Brown rice, beets, fish oil. The SA isn't that bad, please focus on the things you can do to normalise his LH, FSH and Prolactin. It's a good thing that you now notice EWCM. One obstacle has been overcome. This one, too, will soon be a thing of the past. |
Lizzy, you will lose some weight if you follow it to the letter. If you don't want to, just reduce the oatmeal intake, and increase the other food portions. Don't worry, your assets will not disappear. Lol |
@lizzyslaw, the cleanse at the start of the 30 day challenge is not pregnancy-friendly. But what I based that comment on was the consumption of vitamin a. Required daily amounts of vitamin a differ widely for ttc and pregnancy. That's basically the difference in the recipes I'm working on. @Muma, I replied you yesterday o. Ah! Lemme check and resend. I will post the shopping list before Friday. @Cjnone, that's my church. It was awesome! @Honiepie, hbd to your boo in advance @diamondring, you are taking a risk by delaying a pt. You need to get your progesterone levels checked if you are pregnant. If not for Udoka, I might not have checked my levels early, and would not have found out that my level was really low. @Udoka, thank you, I'm grateful. |
favored gal: @dream hope this diet/ cleanse is safe for a pregnant woman? Pls check with your doctor's firstLol! I not going to do it. I have two ttc neighbours that are buying all the food stuff, and they will cook when I don't have strength, with my recipes, in my kitchen. My own is to put up the photos and recipes. I can't do the cleanse now, but some of the recipes are pregnancy-friendly. I'll indicate to show which is which |
@all, by God's grace, we will start on the 1st of November. I will open the thread and post the link here. Will post the shopping list as well, so we can stock up before starting. |
Iyabetajos, the devil has always been, and will continue to be, a liar. Please relax completely. If memory serves me correctly, this is the second time you're slumping. Please, take it very easy. Enjoy and stick to the bed rest, please. Hugs, dear @Venuss, I will. |
Haaa, Overblessed, you are over welcome. May your stay here be brief and blissful. If you read back, I'm sure you'll find answers to your questions. Welcome |
@Twingirls, no too vex biko. You can find radishes at a good salad market. You can get the red ones or white ones. For Maca, and every other supplement or herb, I get from Amazon.com I'm yet to see Maca powder here, and I've really looked. You can email me, so I can tell you what steps to take. They get to you in 2-3 weeks. Will def post a shopping list well before time so we can stock up. I'm drawing up the meal plan. Do the jogging small small o...yes, cinnamon sticks aren't that expensive. The price is about that. @MamaTriplets, yes, I think you are very right. I will start a new thread, and will use 'simple lingua' and easy to find foods. |
@Molola, no problem, I'm waiting for the email. |
Lmho@ Pikinmama. Shuo, na so you dey fear MamaT? Don't worry, she don cool down. To be honest, I don't know which one to recommend. I got the Osuji one as a gift, but I've only used it 4 times. The pounded yam comes out well, but I don't know about durability. |
@Flakeey, she was asking if multi maca is the same, and I said if it's 100% maca root, it's the same. Since it's not, it's not the same. Like I said, I use the powder. If you don't want to lose weight, skip the grapefruit juice. @Favored gal, I'm in! MamaT and AlwaysTrue, pls show... @Chimdalu, I intend to post here, if there are enough people so as not to derail the thread. If not, I'll start another. No inboxing, unless it's a personal reply to a personal question. |
@labella12, I make my own almond milk. Someone has found packaged almond milk in a shop in benin though. I haven't found in Abuja, so I make mine. I buy my Almond oil from Next. I've also seen it in Shoprite, so if there's a shoprite near you, you can try. Funny enough, @child..., I get where you are coming from. Nevertheless, it is well! I've read good things about castor oil for opening tubes. It can't hurt to try. Even for women without blocked tubes, castor oil pack is very good to stimulate ovaries and liver. It's a must for any fertility plan. Take care to do it from the day yoi stop bleeding after af to the day you O. Google castor oil pack for fallopian tubes and read testimonies. Hugs dear |
VENUSS: @Dreamsinbc and all, how una de? Please what is the difference btween multimaca and maca. I got multimaca from "forever".I'm guessing MULTI maca is just forever's brand of maca, and in tablet form. If it's made with 100% maca root,it's the same thing. |
@honiepie, hmm, if I allow dh cook, that means no food for anybody, and my kitchen might just burn down. Mbanu, make I dey manage first. Lmao! I just read about the bsm, I thought she could start immediately. That's good to know o. |
lizzyslaw: Dreams pls cud u give me ur Email so Ȋ̝̊̅'ll mail u directly. Ȋ̝̊̅ dn't wanna put mine on here right now. Am trying to scroll back thru my email but it may take me a while. Am still dancing etigi Oº°˚˚°ºh!frostedbakeshopng@gmail.com |
@all, who is interested in doing a fertility diet challenge? It will be tasking, but it will be worth it. You can expect to optimise fertility. I have quite a few requests for this, so I decided to make it into a challenge to run for one whole month. If interested, it will start with a liver cleanse, then employ Honiepie's detox methods (shake off and acv). It is important to stick to this challenge, and not derail. There will be a 30 day meal plan for male and female. As a result of the requests, I decided to post it here, but i could start another thread, or post in another thread. Note: Muslim or Christian, this will start with a one day fast (you can do an hour midnight prayer in lieu of the fast) this is NOT a weight loss diet, it's for optimal fertility, but you can expect to lose at least 4 kg. Please do not use skimmed anything, full fat dairy all the way Do not snack on peanuts, look for cashews, almonds or pumpkin seeds Please get a scale for measuring food (N1000) You need a hot water bottle of heating pad (hot water bottle preferred) You need a juicer or high speed blender **** I can't make any promises, but I guarantee you will be pleasantly surprised |
Lizzyyyyyyyytooooooo! Haba haba haba! U too scarce na. I don find you tire. I deleted my email history, I was even looking for past emails so I could email you. My dear, I put that pix so that people would know I'm a real woman with real issues. Thank you my darling, yours is next oooo. No, I don't use cottonseed oil o, I read it isn't too good too, so I never bothered. I'm pming you right away, pls reply ooo, I want your email addy. @Muma, it depends on the relationship you have with her. If you guys are close, I see no reason not to confide in her. You never know where help will come from. @Iyabetajos, try the cayenne pepper. Also let her add black strap molasses, and stop the acv for the time being till the bleeding stops. She should try to lose 10kg and see how it goes. Has she been checked for PCOS? She can also try what Muma said worked for her sis. Please tell her to stop crying. I know it's scary at that age, but comfort her. |
@GenBuhari, I'm sure she's in good hands. Her cervix is closed, the baby is fine and she's being monitored for GD and Preeclampsia, I think all bases have been covered. Relax and leave the rest to God. He has seen her this far, He will complete it to the glory of His Name. |
@Mowafruitful, no cramming o, and no ojoro. You can get the almonds at shoprite or Goodies. |
