Saraki has no business legislating for Nigerians from the docks. He resign, hire more lawyers and defend his case. Dragging the Red Chamber to shame and ridicule for his greedy quest to cling to power is unacceptable.

Nigerian politicians must learn now that "one day their "thiefry" will come to light.
if he doesn´t go peacefully he will be impeached. Its a simple thing. When people think they are too smart for their own good, they should remember that other people that know their crimes are watching them. When Saraki became senate president many people taught he was too smart. Has he not now rubbished himselve? Funny enof nigerian politicians would not have attacked him had he not rubbished APC, thereby stepping on toes on his way up there. Politics in Nigeria is a dirty game and no one is immune. Everyone can be brought down even jabadan himself. The movie I am waiting to see is the downfall of Tinubu, which is coming soon in 3D.

moscow37d:
Fellow nairalander. I was checking out a trend on nairaland of how a guy levitated at Ikeja, that brought about people staring for hours. Later the magic was busted and It was explained that the guy actually sat on a kind of chair that you can not see even with a closer look. That now remind me of what I saw in new Delhi (India ) when I went for a course. It's a huge stone tied to a stick, and the stick is sitting on a glass cup. It amazes me a lot every time I look at this picture. And there is this question that always comes to my mind . Could this be magic or science? Though I don't believe in magic but I need someone who can scientifically proof this to me or else I believe in magic once and for all if there is no proof for it. Thank yoy all.
Science. The trick is called the floating man. It was first performed is 1800 by an Indian to amaze the British colonists

Christianity Etc › Re: You Are Spiritually Matured If You Have "Perfect" Control Over These Things by drnoel:
starlingslimnet:
The phrase "Spiritual maturity" seems to many Christains a non-attainable feat while many have been doctrinated to believe "Spiritual maturity" can only be attained by the G.O's and "they"are mean't to be Spiritual reta'rds like the Galatians. Be it as it may, whatever it is,is totally unscriptural; a siege made to limit your full usage of your right as a Christain (A disciple of Christ).Spiritual maturity is attainable and you can grow into it in few days. But first we must understand what Spiritual maturity means.

Contrary to what we have in the churches, Spiritual maturity is not a 'journey' requiring scores of years but a journey requiring simple 'Faith' in Christ. Spiritual maturity is a long maintained state of Spirit supremacy over all things that makes you "you." In saying what makes you,you I mean things that makes you a Spiritual reta'rd.

And If you are have "perfect" control over the areas listed below then you are Spiritually matured by the Standard of Christ irrespective of what your church teaches.

1. Anger: Anger brought down the great prophet Moses and caused him to be the one of the many who sees with their eyes but taste not with their mouth.Anger is a great hindrance to your growth into Spiritual maturity. To become a Spiritual giant in the Spiritual realm you need to subject anger. Remember no one heard a word of anger in his mouth.

2. Flesh: Talk about the fall of Samson flesh caused it in form of lust. The flesh is not the only hinderance as believed but one of the many hindrances to Spiritual maturity, quick and deadly. You must subject your flesh in all it's form.

3. Appetite: "How art the mighty fallen." Esau lost his birthright to appetite. The right to give birth to the natiom of Israel: for God has promised Isaac "To your seed" and Esau was the fist born; rightful heir but he lost it. Your appetite might hinder you from growing into Spiritual maturity.

4. Tongue: What brought plague upon the Israelites? Tongue. What brought leprosy on Miriam? Tongue. Need I to say anything more on Tongue? You have to subject and control

5. Jealousy: An inbuilt trait present in every single individual. Bad when supreme good when subjected.Spiritual maturity requires you to control your innate jealousy.

6. Feelings And Emotions: Seems a major problem among Christain youths. But if you don't control your feelings and emotions your feelings and emotions will control you and when it does you can never attain Spiritual maturity.

7. Thoughts And Imagination: When you have such a past like I had, thoughts and imagination becomes a great hindrance to your Spiritual growth into maturity.Notwithstanding, you have to have control over them and that is why there is number eight.

8. Heart: "Out of the heart comes......." The Bible admonish us to guard our heart. The ability to gaurd your heart is Spiritual maturity. What comes in and goes out,who comes in and goes out must always be under your control.

Seems hard, didn't it? But not when the Holy Spirit is involved. Remember by strength shall no man prevail even to say,you don't have power over your inner though you may do to some extent over your outer and these problems are inner. Not by power, nor by might but by my Spirit says the Lord.Remember, what the heart can conceive a man can achieve. Trust the Spirit and see if all these altogether will not be evident in your life.
If that is the case then I must be spiritually over mature although I rarely go to church. Still I think u mean to say those qualities are for disciplined people
Politics › Re: False Asset Declaration: Nigerians Must Stand With Code Of Conduct Bureau by drnoel: 2:21pm On Sep 18, 2015
TonyeBarcanista:
I am not a fan and has never been a fan of Senate President Olubukola Saraki (I don't hate him either). I don't dislike him because he's a fulaniman/Yorubaman neither do I dislike him because he's a member of the ruling All Progressive Congress. It is a fact that I am an admirer of Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso despite his affiliation to the APC and his fulani ancestry. The point is that neither partisanship nor ethnicity can influence my likeness or otherwise for any individual or politician.

Prior to the March 28 election, I vehemently opposed Saraki's bid to the Senate. My position was (and still remains) that Senator Saraki be made to face justice on alleged crimes against Kwara people and depositors of the defunct Societe Generale Bank. Unfortunately, the APC shouted that he was a change agent and brought him to the Senate. In a twist of event, the same APC started shouting that he was unfit to be elected into the highest office in the National Assembly even after bringing him to the Senate. Some of us threw our weight behind Saraki's bid not because we sincerely wanted him but because we had to send a message to the APC and others that "you can't anoint a person of questionable integrity as a Catholic cardinal when it favors you and turn around to say the person is unfit to be the pope because it doesn't favor you" (sincere apologies to the catholics).

Since his exit from the seat of power in Kwara state there has been shocking revelations detailing Senator Saraki's role in the alleged looting of Kwara state treasury coupled with the police report that detailed his alleged role in the looting of Societe Generale Bank along with some members of his family; his father the late Sola Saraki and sister Gbemisola were indicted. The alleged actions of Saraki and his cohorts led to the collapse of SGB, of which lots of innocent and hardworking Nigerians lost their means of livelihood.

When the report of his alleged false declaration of asset before the Code of Conduct Bureau(CCB) came to the limelight, my position was that he should be prosecuted before the Code of Conduct Tribunal(CCT). When it was reported that the CCB was to kick start his prosecution today (18/09/2015), I so welcomed it. I believe that irrespective of political affiliation we must support the fight against corruption as long as it follows proper channel. Nigerians of good conscience must back this move by the federal government through CCB.

The "social media" defence that Saraki tried to put up by whipping political sentiment is lame. Neither Facebook, Twitter, Nairaland nor any mainstream media is a court of law. Saraki should explain himself to the Judge instead. The argument by some of his supporters that it was a 2003 offence is also lame. Criminal offence has no expiry date as long as it hasn't been cleared by a court of competent jurisdiction.

It is on record that Saraki is not the first former Governor to be tried by CCB. Ex-Lagos state Governor Bola Tinubu was also tried by CCB on allegation of operating foreign account while he was governor of Lagos state. A charge that he was acquitted of in 2012. Saraki is also not the first senate president to be tried. A former senate president Adolphus Wabara was arrested and tried along with 4 other Senators and 3 Representatives on allegation of receiving N50million bribe from then education minister Fabian Osuji in April 2005. He resigned and faced his crime, but was acquitted in 2010 on technical ground. Saraki is not the first Senator either.

I believe that moral and social justice demand that Nigerians of good conscience support the move of CCB on behalf of the Kwara people and all victims of his alleged loot. Not just for only Saraki but to all those that have cases to answer. The federal government of Nigeria has done well in this regard.

No Greek gift from J.P. Morgan
Posted By: Sam Omatseye on: September 14, 2015

Recently, the international mogul JP Morgan decided to delist Nigeria from its government bonds. The reason is that the new Central Bank regime on foreign exchange transactions does not favour its own light of good capitalism. It has created a set of chain reactions and the stock market has turned a little giddy.

But I am happy the CBN is not yielding to the shark of a bank.

J.P. Morgan and its types come from a culture of due process and transparency. But it is a bank that knows how to trick governments and naïve citizens. Was it not the same bank that was fined close to $20 billion for a series of unethical and unprofessional conduct? It paid a major role in swindling Americans in the mortgage scandal a few years ago, and paid $13 billion in fines. It also paid $1 billion over the “London Whale scandal” and $6 billion over the manipulation of a felon called Bruno Iksil. It paid $2 billion for allowing Berne Madoff swindle innocent American investors. It was in cahoots with companies, such as Goldman Sachs to tease Greece into its crisis by crafting a system to hide its debt while profiting by it. Now, Greece is suffering alone. If JP Morgan cannot live with transparency in Nigeria, we can live without their geeks. We abhor another Greek gift

rozayx5:
At least three persons were confirmed killed while others sustained injuries when the Joint Task Force (Operation Pulo Shield), engaged suspected militants in a gun duel in Delta State, The Cable reports.

The commander of the force, Alani Okunlola, disclosed this in Warri during a press briefing on Thursday.

Parading a suspect allegedly arrested with various arms and ammunition, Okunlola said the operation took place in Benigboye community of Burutu Local Government Area of the state on September 5.

He said, “My men raided a militant camp in Benigboye. On sighting the troops, the suspects opened fire which led to a gun battle that lasted for 30 minutes before they fled the camp. In the follow up operation on September 6, my troops, on getting information on the hideout of the suspected militants that attacked Odimodi community, launched a search operation and apprehended one Ebiwame Lamia.”

Okunola added that during preliminary investigation, Lamia confessed that he was in the camp during the previous raid.

He quoted Lamia as saying that three persons died in the gun battle while some escaped with bullet wounds.

The commander said the JTF was in search of the fleeing suspects and urged the people to assist the troops with useful information that could lead to their arrest.

He listed weapons recovered from the camp to include medium machine gun, AK 47, light machine gun and AK 47 automatic rifle.

Okunola added that other weapons recovered were SMG, G3 riffles, one single barrel gun, and Improvised Explosive Device and an identity card.

He said the recovered arms and ammunition were in the custody of his men. The suspect, who claimed to be 17 years old, told reporters that he was a cook in the camp of the militants.

I and my girl have been dating for the past 6 years. It's kind of platonic relationship. Sex is not involve. Only kissing and all that. We broke up due to the fact that I can't endure it again. As you all know ' body no be firewood'. Since then she dated like two other guys. Early last year, she pleaded that we should get back together which I agreed on the basis that she have to give me the password to all her social network accounts which she did. All the same, the relationship still fell. After some months, I realized that I've missed something, so I threw away my pride and went back to beg her which after some time she agreed. Now the problem is she said she wants me but also claim to be in love with the other guy. She even uses the guy's pix as her whatsapp display pics. I really love this girl sincerely but it seems she is using me as a backup in case the other guy misbehave. My question is, should I stick around till she break up with the guy of find my way. Note that we still talk and she do come to my school at times to visit me.
