Kobojunkie: But sorry, Jesus Christ never said Speaking in tongues was of the Spirit of God though - Mark 16 vs 17 - 18
In fact, according to Jesus Christ, it is rather a sign that one believes in Jesus Christ and not a sign that one has the Spirit of God aka is Holy/Perfect in the sight of God. In interpreting scriptures, it is often good to differentiate between what exactly scriptures say and what assumptions we make. There is nowhere in the Bible that equates having the Holy Spirit with perfection in the sight of God. I think that is a critical mistake in the statement you made above, sir. None of the believers who received the Holy Spirit in the book of Acts were perfect. Not even the Apostles. As a matter of fact Peter displayed a few errors of judgment and was once called to order by Paul (who in the eyes of men was a ‘second’ generation apostle compared to Peter). The point is receiving the Holy Spirit is. It a mark of perfection and the Bible does not support this claim, sir. |

Just when I was beginning to like this MOG, he suddenly begins to dish out strange utterances. Hallelujah isn't a heavenly word, and so what? If all Christians unite to use it, strictly for the purpose of praising God is it bad? How about words like "praise the Lord", "hail the King of Kings", "magnify his name", etc, are they heavenly words? Ok oooo Sir, I think your mistake here is assuming that he is criticizing the use of hallelujah as a word. All, he is saying is that hallelujah is not a word in the language of heaven. Hallelujah is a word of Hebrew origin which means ‘praise the Lord’. Being Hebrew makes it a language of the earth and not of heaven. His point is the what would more appropriately be termed a heavenly language is speaking in other tongues as this is explained in scripture as inspired (not driven) b6 the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spake with other tongues AS THE SPIRIT GAVE THEM UTTERANCE) |

Please advice from experience persons in the field will be veryly appreciated. (if there is any word as such) I think you are asking the wrong question. What you should be asking yourself is “what am I passionate about?” Follow your passion and more often than not you will always find the strengths, perseverance, energy and drive to go longer, harder, further and more consistent than others in your field. That is what will always make you EVENTUALLY rise to the top of your field…. Doesn’t matter whether it’s here in Nigeria or in a developed country…. It also doesn’t matter the field. Your passion is what translate to value and at the end of the day, value is what is rewarded with money, resources and a “name”. This is not a motivational talk. Christianity Etc › Re: My Confusion About God And The Scriptures. by drphantom: 2:07am On Jul 03, 2021*. Modified: 6:09am On Jul 04, 2021 |
udoji2021: I have been thinking about this lately and decide to share it here. Don't get me fellas, I'm a Christian and believe in God and his son Jesus Christ
BUT
It is believe that God created the world and knows what happened before, what is happening presently and what will happen later till the end of time. This brings me question on why he allowed Satan to decieve man, why was he also angry since He knew beforehand of what will happen? Then the consequent punishment, was it really justified?
The most confusing part to me now is life after death. I personally believe that there is heaven and hell right from my childhood days until one guy (Jehovah witness) told me that there is nothing like hell, he went on that even heaven is for a specific number of choose people and not for everyone, above all, he said that when one dies, your own is finished and you are not gonna go anywhere. Simply put, your body and spirit will die.
I nearly insulted him for spewing such rubbish but many years after, I'm beginning to think think twice about this issue. Now, imagine suffering in this life for all the days of your life only to meet death (body and spirit),
My question is;
1) why not just enjoy your life even if it means doing bad things to enjoy life? If you can't enjoy life, why not kill yourself and rest to avoid the sufferings?
2) Even if there is life after death, what if there is no suffering cos God may decide to give everyone peace after death.
3) Those that didn't hear anything about God, what is their fate?
4) which of the scriptures is to be trusted?
May God forgive my ignorance if what I just wrote is bad and punishable. Dear sir, I think you made a fundamental error. You had a questions about the God of the Bible but you brought the question to a public forum filled with diverse ideologies and expect to be less confused? All you will hear is various opinions which will inevitably lead to arguments amongs those trying to school you and further confusion for you. Can I suggest a different approach? You say you are a Christian? Pray and in sincerity ask God to direct you, and trust that He will. Find a Christian leader whom you respect and who’s lifestyle measures up the the scriptural standard for leadership (1 Timothy 3) in the church….and seek his or her insights into your questions. Also open and read the Bible for yourself, especially the New Testament, since from a theological perspective, that is the dispensation we live in today. All your questions have answers there…and quite plainly too. In the time being let me assure you that there is life after death with a few examples - Jesus said to the repentant thief the he would be with in him in paradise i.e. there would be somewhere called paradise after death - the story (not parable) of the rich man and Lazarus refers to an after life - the book of Hebrews refers to a cloud of witness made up of believers who have gone before Etc With regards to your second question, again read your New Testament. There will be a reckoning and men will give account for their actions. Therefore not everyone will get peace. All will reap the fruit of their mindset about God. On question 3, Read Romans 2:12-16 especially verse 12 which says in essence for as many that sinned outside the jurisdiction of the laws of the God will be judged without that law applied…but they will be judged because what the right thing to do is built into all men by instinct. Romans 2:12-16 (Message translation) 12-13 If you sin without knowing what you’re doing, God takes that into account. But if you sin knowing full well what you’re doing, that’s a different story entirely. Merely hearing God’s law is a waste of your time if you don’t do what he commands. Doing, not hearing, is what makes the difference with God. 14-16 When outsiders who have never heard of God’s law follow it more or less by instinct, they confirm its truth by their obedience. They show that God’s law is not something alien, imposed on us from without, but woven into the very fabric of our creation. There is something deep within them that echoes God’s yes and no, right and wrong. Their response to God’s yes and no will become public knowledge on the day God makes his final decision about every man and woman. The Message from God that I proclaim through Jesus Christ takes into account all these differences. I deliberately used a simplified version to get you to see it but I recommend the KJV or NKJV….which is also my personal preference in answer to your 4th question. I don’t want to go into debates but I have my reasons. I will say this though, not every book that has BIBLE or SCRIPTURES written on the cover is a Christian Bible. On this, google is your friend. You can easily do a quick background check to confirm the accuracy of any supposed “scriptures”. I pray God helps you in your search. He typically helps those seeking Him sincerely to find Him |

Most hiv test can detect hiv after 4 weeks of infection.
If it's been three months since you has u protected sex and you did the two test at least 4 weeks after sex....and it's negative...you are less likely to be carrying the virus.
To clear your doubts. You can buy an hiv self test kit and take your blood yourself and test it.
Alternatively...just do another test again to give you peace of mind.
Ignore the idiots telling you it takes six month. It's a big lie. Hiv can be detected within 4 weeks of first infection.
Also....next time you want to have unprotected sex....insist your partner takes an hiv and std test. If you are caught in a guys house....where he is insisting on unprotected sex. Just go I to the bathroom....masturbate to clear your head. It will help you make an informed decision to stick to your 'no'
If we are all truthful. Condom is not always feasible and most of the people castigating you on this thread don't even use condom during sex. |

You know you shouldn’t be having pre marital much less unprotected sex, in the first place right? Having said that, your choices are you own. Do an HIV screening at an accredited and high quality centre (e.g. PATHCARE, Clinalancet, Clinix, etc) at 6 months is standard for screening. However, please note that this is screening only and a small percentage of people will have false negative results. If you still have fears after 6 months or are experiencing non specific symptoms and general ill health, you can do more specific testing (not screening) for HIV from any of the above listed labs. PCR, ELISA etc are all available for HIV specific testing. Mrsdimca: I had unprotected sex 3 months and two weeks ago. I ran a test in 2 different places yesterday was negative. But some are saying it is 6 months one can get accurate result.
I'm curious, because I'm still restless despite the fact I came out negative in two different places that I ran the tests.
Please help out, I need a wider coverage.. . |

I was in a church and there was this girl that has cancer of the blood. Every 6 months she normally undergoes blood transfusion.
So on this faithful day, a friend of hers invited her to their church she reluctantly went with her and as service was going on, the pastor made a statement that every problem in your blood is healed in the name of Jesus Christ and in her heart she said amen. She was also planning to go for another blood transfusion the next day and this costs the family #1.6m. When she went back again, the doctor told her that there is nothing wrong with her blood that she is perfectly OK. Neither her friend nor the pastor is aware of her problem but God was.
You can also share yours too. I will still share more even my supernatural encounters. Dear OP, The title of your post highlights an error most people make in relatin* with the God the Bible. It is not the experience you have that should convince you God is real. It is faith and not experience. Faith is believing without seeing. Experience is believing BY seeing. It is why Jesus said, after His resurrection, when a Thomas was insisting on seeing his nail scarred hands before he believed it was actually Jesus that resurrected; Blessed is he who believes without seeing. If you wait for experiences then anybody that does something supernatural can deceive you into believing him. This is not a good yardstick to judge the existence of God because demons too can work supernatural things. Remember the magicians of Egypt who duplicated the marvels worked at the hands of Moses. This is not to say that God does not do the supernatural. He does. I have experienced many supernatural things in God. But the experiences came long after I had believed in God and are not the reason I believe in Him |

You are a credit to the profession. It will pay off sooner than you expect. Leopantro: REJECTED BY THE TEACHING HOSPITAL
Before I left, I had contacted the Public Health department again, to let them in on the new development, and the fact that we should seriously start making plans of tracing other people that patient zero may have contacted, and exposed unknowingly. Stupid me! But that's how I am wired; I am never really the type who looks out for himself alone. The Department of Public Health gave me a contact to call in the Teaching Hospital, and convinced me not to embark on a 9 hour journey to Irrua, since I was sick and unstable, and they have an infection control unit in the Teaching Hospital that is well equipped to handle the case. I called the contact, and he said that they've been informed, and that they are READY and waiting for me. By being "ready," they meant Ribavirin, PPEs, and all that. So, I took a detour, and embarked on a 2 hour journey to the Teaching Hospital instead. When I got there, I got a cold reception. I was kept in the ambulance for 2 hours, from 6.30pm to around 8.45pm, on the pretext that they were "looking for the keys to the isolation ward." I was left out there unattended to, sick, tired from a long journey, and apprehensive. My friends were calling, yelling that I should leave and start going to Irrua. But I reasoned it was already late, and I didn't want to take that risk. At around 9pm, they finally "found the keys," and I was taken to an isolation ward, in a huge deserted complex. After one hour of waiting, and of having the clinical staff peer at me through the window, like I was some alien; someone fully kitted with a PPE, came in to see me. After asking a few questions, he told me outrightly that I was on my own. That the PPE he was wearing was the last in the hospital, and that no one would agree to touch me without it. He went further to say that as it stood then, neither him, nor the hospital, was "officially aware" that I was in there. Talk about "plausible deniability!" I was shocked to the marrow. The irony of it-- the fact that I risked my own life to take care of someone I didn't know, who wasn't even from the same state as me, without PPEs, and in a Community Hospital, in a remote village! And right there were people, who were meant to be my professional colleagues, my "Hippocratic" and "Nightingalean" brethren, working in a tertiary institution-- supposedly the most equipped hospital in the state, and yet they couldn't do same for me. I wasn't mad at them though, as I realized that they were as much victims of a shitty system, as I was; for in their eyes, I saw pity, empathy, and shame. Perhaps if they had PPEs they would have done something. Perhaps not. Truth is, we'll never know. " Okay," I said; "now that you're still wearing PPE, can you at least help me site an IV line, and put me on IV fluids?" No, can't do; you're not on admission, and like I said, the hospital is not "aware" you're here. <p> " What of Ribvirin; can I get it and start treating myself?"</p> No, we can't give you that; we can't give you drugs without a definitive diagnosis. "Excuse me? You're saying that in the setting of a potentially life-threatening ailment, you'd rather wait for a confirmatory diagnosis that may take days, possibly risking the patient's life, instead of starting life-saving treatment?" And he said something I considered condescending about the drugs having numerous side effects. I scoffed. Drug side effects my foot! As if we were not taught about what to do when benefits outweighs risk in medical school. At this point, there was no need engaging further; it was obvious this people were playing "political correctness" with my life. Before they left, they said I should continue self-medicating with the ORS and Zinc, that I CAME WITH, to stay hydrated; and that I should be monitoring MY OWN vital signs, and let them know if "something" happens. Right; like if I enter into shock, my ghost would pick up my phone and start making calls, abi? That was how I was left ALONE in a vast one storey complex, sick, with a thousand thoughts running through my head. At around 11pm, I decided it was best to check myself out, and go to find a hotel, spend the night, and then continue my journey to Irrua the following day. And no, I didn't care if I was going to be putting the hotel staff at risk; whatever selflessness, and misguided sense of patriotism, I had died in that Hospital where I was left to my fate. If their government didn't care enough to protect them, even when I had tried to make it easier for them, why should I care? Besides, if I was dying, I would rather spend the remaining of my days in luxury, and comfort, and not in a deserted building where my only companions would be my thoughts, and the elements.
Old habits die hard. As I went to that hotel room, I still went with Dettol, and Jik, and made sure I was washing my hands regularly, to minimize the risk of putting anyone at risk. Lol. Stupid me.
FENDING FOR MYSELF: TRIP TO IRRUA
The following morning, we set out for Irrua as early as 6.30 am. It was a long journey that took about 9 hours. Through out the journey, I was receiving calls, and prayers, from friends, family, and well wishers. They made me feel loved; they made me feel there was good in humanity after all; and that whatever I had done was well worth it. We arrived at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital at exactly 3.30pm. The first thing I did was to report myself to the Lassa Fever Centre, and have them look for patient Zero's result. It happened that they hadn't even started running the sample, as they were overwhelmed with samples from all over the country. However, they were humane enough to understand my predicament, and the urgency it required. So, they made it a priority, and included it in the next batch of samples to be run.
THE LONG WAIT I waited for long for that result. At a point, it was obvious that it was going to be a long wait, so I went and booked myself a hotel room. A consultant in the centre had earlier advised that it may be imprudent to admit me at that time, risking further exposure. Since I was no longer having diarrhea, vomiting, and fever,AT THAT TIME, he said we should wait for the results of patient zero first. By 10pm, I was still seated outside the lab, waiting. Finally, the door opened, and they told me that they had made a mistake while running the sample, and would have to redo the test. Exhausted and drained, both emotionally and physically, I decided I couldn't wait any longer. So, I went to my hotel room, switched off my phones, and dozed off.
A HAPPY ENDING
The following morning, at around 7.30 am, the lab called me: patient zero's result was negative. And I heaved a sigh of relief. The first thing I did was to call my friends, and family-- beautiful set of people, who had been more worried than I was, and tell them that the battle was over. On my way back home, I got sick again. So, when I got home, I ran some tests, and it happened what I had was Sepsis, and Malaria with a very high parasite density. I'm on drugs now, and recuperating fine. And yes, I'm also on sick leave, even though I've been reviewing cases brought to me by my junior colleague on my sick bed . Yea, they can't take that away from me: love for what I do! It feels like I have been given a second chance. A chance, not just to live, but also to see more clearly, and realize that this country isn't worth it. Oh well, let's just get well first .....

Crime › Re: Video Of Little Girl Performing MouthAction: Lagos State Government Reacts by drphantom: 8:07am On Feb 03, 2018 |
Amagite: Lagos state's Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team, has reacted to the viral video of a little girl, about eight years old, performing MouthAction on a man.
The video which made the rounds on social media last week, shows a man recording the little girl as she gave him a Mouth Action.
The man did not show his face in the video, but the little girl's face was fully shown.
The team says the video has been forwarded to the state police command for investigation. The team has also appealed to members of the public to desist from circulating the video.
http://www.amagitesblog.com/2018/02/lagos-state-government-reacts-to-viral.html Naija no dey carry last. This video originated in Ghana (there was A Ghanaian radio station paying music in the background) and has been the Ghanaian police have begun their investigation there. I know cos I was there in Ghana when it started a few days ago. To hear that the Police haven’t figured that part out yet is really funny. Or are there just trying to get an A for effort? |

Looking at th extent of her injuries, I can surmise that the victim was referred and not rejected (two different things). Burns of this severity require specialized care in a burns unit and not on a hospital bed as the victims tend to die from dehydration, loss of electrolytes and infections and not the burns directly. Not every general hospital has a burns unit that can asefely manage this degree of injury, so most likely the patient was referred. But in Nigeria once you enter a hospital with a serious condition and are not admitted, every says you have been rejected. RIP to the dead Groovenaija360: Ngozichukwu J Nwokoye took to social media to mourn her little sister who was a victim of fire accident, after she passed away yesterday.
Ngozichukwu said her sister was rejected by all the General Hospitals in Lagos and now she is dead.

Health › Re: Help! Fingernails Problem. by drphantom: 3:46am On Jan 23, 2018 |
opera1: Good people in the house, am having a problem with my fingernails, i don't know exactly what could have been responsible for this.
Pls anybody with a solution kindly help me out. Thanks for your constructive response. Looks like chronic onychomycosis to me. 1. Buy some plain white vinegar and make a 50/50 dilution solution of it i.e. 1 part water 1part white vinegar in equal volumes. Dip your fingertips in this solution morning and night for the next one month or so. You can reuse a particular batch of solution for about 4 days after which I recommend you mix up another one. 2. You can also use oral itraconazole but talk with a doctor or pharmacist first regarding dosage ( I epidural rather not give you dosage since I do not have your medical history nor have examined you). Be sure you insist on itraconazole rather than any other antifungal. Long term treatment with ketoconazole and other antifungals impair the functioning of your immune system but itraconazole is better tolerated than most. This is important as you may have to be on the drug for 3 to 5 months. 3. Onychomycosis is difficult to treat and require patience. Keep that in mind when you get frustrated Best of luck |
