It would be difficult for the proti3ns produced by the genetic expressions of th3 DNA of one species to be compatible with another.

It's more likely to a congenital anomaly, with some obviously misshapen features, and incompatible with life.

Family / Re: Will You Take Your Wife Back If She Cheats On You? by drphantom: 8:30pm On Jul 27, 2023
#mythoughts.

My opinion on this is in no way legitimizing men cheating. It's an explanation for men finding forgiving infidelity more difficult. And even though it's likely to be controversial and unpopular, both anecdotal evidence and sociological studies bear it out.

Men and women cheat for different reasons.
For a man, tyoically he can love 1 woman but be sexually attracted to many others whom ironically he does not love. Sex is disconnected from intimacy.

For a woman, sex is typically connected to her emotions so her feelings are involved before she gives her body. Sex for her is connected to intimacy.
(There is however a relatively modern phenomenon in which women deliberately work against their natural nurturing tendencies and chose the same promiscuous tendencies as men. Unfortunately, most women later regret this when cognitive dissonance I.e. the psychological implications of deliberately working against your natural tendencies, catch up with them later in life, but that is another story)

Back to the present thought...
Both know this instinctively.
So when a man cheats its not necessarily because his feelings for his wife is diminished.
When a woman cheats is is largely because her feelings for her husband have diminished.

So the implications of a woman cheating is all the more difficult for a man to tolerate.

Ironically, women are better at hiding extramarital affairs than men and in some societies, statistically speaking, women cheat more but men are caught more making it seem like men cheat more.

Wome who cheat regularly typically keep it a secret. Men who cheat regularly typically brag about it to at least 1 person.
The reason is clear.
For the woman it's a out satisfying a need for an emotional connection. It's solely about her.
For the man, it's a conquest and there is no point to a conquest is nobody knows.

These are very general statements but hold true for the majority.

This is also not a justification for cheating for either party.
Marriage is a commitment that both sides must do their best to honour.

skultrick:
So this question is for the men, I was watching this movie, and this woman despite having a sweet home cheated on her husband.

The husband loved his wife so much but after finding out about her infidelity told her it was over. The wife couldn't bare it, she just jumped in front of a moving car but luckily she survived it.

Now the husband is finding it difficult to call it a quit considering the amazing children at stake.

Would you divorce your wife for cheating on you even though she is an amazing woman?

Aftermath of the movie, the man took back his wife after so much pleading from the wife's mom. Turns out the wife was raped when she was 10, and that act seemed to have made her addicted to sex. The husband couldn't go the marathon sex. Moreover, their sex life became boring. It was always in the bedroom but this woman wanted to be banged in the kitchen, hotel, any other out of the norm setting. I can’t really say with all certainty that i can take back a cheating wife but i wouldn't want a broken home. I want my kids raised by both parents.

Computers / Re: Laptop Bag With USB Port: I Want To Import This. Will It Sell In Nigeria? by drphantom: 7:55pm On Jun 29, 2023
Personally, I would advise that you try to find something more innovative with a better unique selling point and value proposition to import and sell.

There are many of these already in the market. "What makes this one different?" is the question potential buyers will ask themselves. I have 3 of these myself.

Neither are they new. It's old tech. I got my first one over 5 years ago.

You could try underselling the current market but price wars often lead to severely reduced margins for all sellers so I don't recommend it.

I suggest a different approach: try to find what people NEED right now. Work from there and your potential for success is higher.

HanisahZuwy:
This is a laptop bag with USB port. I would like to import it, but I don't know if it'll sell here in Nigeria. What do you think? Do you think I should import it or not? What would you rather I import instead? What would you advise me to import instead? I mean a fast moving product/products. I need your opinions/suggestions please. Thanks.

I also plan adding backpack. So that it won't be only laptop bag. What do you all think?

It's funny you think 24 litres (NGN 12000 @ roughly N500 per litre) will get you from Abuja to Benin.

In a good (not rickety) and well maintained 2010 Corolla with combined highway and city driving fuel consumption rate of 7 L per 100km, getting to your destination distance of around 450 km with no other cars on thr road is a pipe dream.

I don't see any car price crashing

Nothing will crash stop playing ...we are just too greedy in this part of the world

Before the removal of subsidy...a lexus es 350 V6 was sold for between 6.5 million to 7.4million

Go and check again now or wait after one month and check again

Am even thinking people will now buy thier own cars now that fuel price gone up which means public transport will double plus the uncomfortable atmosphere that comes with public transport ...where them dey carry for 200 naira before na 400 naira

From Abuja to Benin city with God is good motor na 27000 thousands naira now...so it will be better you just fuel your own car with 12000 naira and drive from Abuja to Benin city

Semantics. If the primary worry you have about the subsidy removal is neighboring countries, fix your customs and border patrol.

Subsidy is the only thing the FG gives to the citizens without which would cause a chaos because of the low buying power popular with the citizens...

First of account make critical account of what the accruals from the removal of kerosense subsidy was used for.

If a private citizen can build a refinery within five years. A 3.2km road was built to link SE and SS. Why is building new refineries to take care of the country's need difficult to do or a thorough rehabilitation of the previous ones that have repeatedly refused to become operational. Are radioactive isotopes no longer used in pipe flows to track leakages to identify damaged sections of the refineries so that they can get fixed

Nigerians and their penchance for.unintelligent leaders

Everyone that I know that has put forward your argue (which I am not debating ) has also failed to put forward a better alternative.

The private individual you mention who put up a refinery in 5 years is hogwash for me because he did it by for 'round-tripping' and it is yet to solve the problem.

Building refineries is a medium to long term solution for an immediate problem we have. A new government just came in and you propose they ONLY take a long term approach to solve a problem which must be resolved in the short term? How does that work?

The one BIG flaw in the subsidy removal thing is this:
Just because government makes or saves a trillion naira does not mean any of it will trickle down to the common man.
Subsidy, though inefficient, though somewhat wasteful, is the ONLY thing that GURRANTEES the little man gets a piece of the pie. He can SEE it kolokolo when he makes purchases of everything due to the multiplier effect of price of oil.

I agree with your concern.

However, we can't continue to use another wrong to cushion the effect of one wrong.

Nairaland / General / Are We Being Honest Or Hypocritical With Ourselves On This Fuel Subsidy Issue? # by drphantom: 10:10am On Jun 03, 2023
I heard and seen a lot of divergent views of the subdisy removal, it's timing and how Tinubu's government should have done it.

As someone that has been advocating for its removal since I discovered how we were subsidizing our neighbors petrol and how we as a people were being scammed to thr tune of trillions of naira on this matter, it was an inevitable and uncomfortable path we had to take.

From Cameroon to Cotonou, Nigerian petrol that had already been partly paid for by successive governments was still being resold to in other countries since it was cheaper that other sources.

That creates a pro-smuggling scenario which many continued to exploit for their own personal gain to the detriment of regular Nigerian.

All th3 gist about how it should have been gradual is irrational IMO so I won't even bother with that aspect. You don't announce the day of arrest of a criminal to him especially bearing in mind the criminal has friends in your office.

Will it be a tough time for us? Yes.
But only in the short term.
But we can handle it....eventually.
Some things will change but cest la vie.

The harsh reality we have been shielded from for so long is that we have never actually paid full price for petrol. Even before the current global economic down turn, our friends in Ghana were paying NGN 360 per litre. When it went over NGN they screamed blue murder and took to the streets.

But even at NGN 500 we are still cheaper than most places.

If we truly want progress for our country, the truth is we must change some of our economic and fiscal policies. This is just one of thr ones that have to change.
Until we embrace this truth we are not ready change are we are just paying lip service to wanting a Nigeria that is like Dubai etc.

Or maybe thisbis what we really are: good talkers who don't realize the implications of what we are saying.

Many of us clamored for 24 hour electricity and berated PHCNs ineptidude. Until PHCN gave some areas 22 hours electricity on premium plans and they discovered a measure of the true cost of having electricity all day. Some friend of mine pay over NGN 100,000 per month for electricity on their prepaid meters.

For me, it's time for us the embrace some harsh truths in the belief that when we tell ourselves the truth and act from the standpoint of reality, only then can we develop as a nation.

Next up? Removing the dual exchange rates we have so that some people can stop borrowing dollars from CBN, selling ro BDCs at black market rate and refunding at CBN rates and call themselves businessmen. (I didnt mention any names o)

P.S.

The article below from BusinessDay summarizes the rest of my thoughts. Everyone should read it to understand how we have been doing big brother to our detriment.

The original author of this piece is being shortsighted and parochial.

When there are individual problems that warrant a divorce, by all means go for it if it will help you.

But to make a general call for an increase in divorce rates to go up is confirmation that people either don't learn the lesson for history or are not able to see logical connections.

I'm too tired to help the person beyond saying she should go and research the effect of increqsijg divorce rates on communities and subsequent generations. Black America is a good example of this experiment.

Properties / Re: The Act That Inspires Me In My New Street In Calabar (photos) by drphantom: 6:08am On May 24, 2023
I learnt a long time ago to NEVER pass judgment on the spending habits and practices of someone I see externally to be doing better than me.

We often expect these people to be financially better off but the reality is that we are simply not in their shoes.

Live and let live.

Solve your own problems and don't expect someone else to do it for you. If some else does, consider it a blessing and appreciate as such. It is not a right.

We are not there to see that rich man or rich relative service loans and obligations we don't know about.

We are not there to know how many other people have come to them for financial assistance that week alone.

We don't know what their take home is at the end of the day after helping other people we don't know about.

What ever the case may be, how they choose to live their life and spend their money is NONE OF OUR BUSINESS.

To think otherwise is, in reality, to have an entitlement mentality over another man's property.

Ironically, if this was Lagos and th3 state government decides one day to enforce the law against digging borehole, will the community come and help him pay the fine or address the matter in court?

We can be so hypocritical without realizing it

Chifriend:
So I recently packed into this street in the heart of Calabar called Mekenge Layout and I have noticed something unique.

Since Water Board stopped functioning in the state, water has been a challenge to the residents of Calabar. This has made many resort to digging personal borehole for private use.

In other houses that do not have borehole, access to water remains a huge challenge to them.

The compound I recently packed into is just a single room with no water. So sourcing for water is still a challenge to us without borehole.

However, while majority of the compounds are upstairs (big houses) and have borehole, none of them care to remember those who don't have. An exception to this is a bungalow (a small house) who decided to give out the water generally and FREELY to anyone who needs it.

This amazes me a lot and show me a great lesson to learn.

It simply tells me that to give is not by having it all before you can give.

It shows even when you have it all, you may not still give.

It also shows that who may help you in life might not be the richest person, but he who is willing to help you.

There is even a hotel in the same street but the hotel don't give water. This could have at least formed part of their corporate social responsibilities, but they don't.

This should be a lesson to you that who will help you in this life might not be who has it all.

What is your take on this?

Picture 1 & 2 - showing showing houses in the street.

That has surfaced and is making many Yoruba turn against him.

Politics / Re: GRV: A Lagos Original For Inclusiveness, Not Division (Photos) by drphantom: 10:44am On Mar 06, 2023
Mediahq:
As Nigerians brace up for the Governorship and State House of Assembly phase of the 2023 general elections due for Saturday March 11, Lagosians have another date to keep with history. People-driven history will be made, so they must beware of the symbolic Ides of March which is cloaked in the campaign of falsehood and divisive ethnic politicking by individuals whose fabled political structure was crushed in the last presidential election in Lagos.

The desperados are jittery about another defeat and whipping up primitive sentiments against Labour Party's Governorship Candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour (GRV), calling him names in order to turn indigenous people against him. In reality, what they are afraid of is the solid pedigree of this original Lagosian, his ability to deliver and vintage ethnic hybrid position to play the politics of inclusiveness that accommodate everyone, no matter ethnic, religious or economic status.

Who is this Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour and why are they so keen to disparage him with unfounded fallacies? Gbadebo (‘The one who brings the crown’) is a Lagos original with true blood flowing in his veins. He is a proud descendant of the prestigious Rhodes-Vivour family, whose pedigree as foremost legal luminaries and judges, with distinguished contributions to the state's development, date back to the 1800s - about 400 years in history.

Indeed, Gbadebo is the great grandson of eminent Justice Steven Bankole Rhodes, a founding father of the executive and judiciary, who served on the Executive Council with eminent Nigerians like Adeyemo Alakija. They and similarly minded nationalists built Lagos, a credit some people have been trying to steal. Also, Gbadebo's uncle is the Supreme Court Judge, Justice Bode Rhodes Vivour.

In terms of direct parentage, GRV’s own father is Barrister Olawale Rhodes-Vivour, a distinguished lawyer and detribalized son, who embodies the Lagos spirit of accommodation by marrying a wonderful Igbo woman, Nkechi, who is Gbadebo’s mother today. Interestingly, GRV’s diverse names as Gbadebo (‘The one who brings the crown’), Chinedu (‘God is leading’) and Patrick (‘of noble origin’) all point to a man destined for greatness and leadership.

So, with such a rich and highly accommodating pedigree, politicians are afraid that GRV's candidacy makes it easy for both members of the Igbo and Yoruba tribes to support, trust and see him as one of their own. Before and after the last presidential election, Gbadebo’s rising profile as an authentic unifying face of Lagos made powers that be to descend to sponsoring social media influencers to promote a fake campaign of an Igbo takeover agenda. They even lied about GRV saying Lagos is no man’s land.

The truth is that the opponents do not want a true and accommodating indigene to be governor. Greed for power and resources makes the enemies of Lagos go any length to retain power. However, a GRV, aside from a rich pedigree, will bring a breath of fresh air and restore the original glory of the state with inclusive and progressive development policies.

He has pledged to use 10% of Lagos IGR to empower 1 million poor Lagosians with interest-free loans. GRV has plans to rehabilitate the ‘Agberos’, area boys and thugs, and reintegrate them back into society as responsible citizens. He will fix the bad roads in all parts: from Ikotun, Ijegun, Satellite town, Lagos-Badagry Expressway and Ikorodu to Sagamu Expressway, irrespective of the predominant tribe living there in order to boost international trade.

GRV will provide affordable housing and stop the racket that goes on with government built homes. A LP government will make life better for the civil servants, the middle class, will improve wages and salaries for government workers, as well as fight for the poor and the economically disadvantaged. Today, Lagos has over 1 trillion naira debt portfolio and contractual obligations of over 500 billion naira.

GRV’s plan is built around quality and affordable education in public schools, quality and very affordable health services. He will also ensure provision of drinkable water to as many homes as possible and will fight for the poor and underprivileged by introducing transparency into procurement and contracting process and a level playing field to enable the participation of all qualified persons.

GRV supported and coordinated the campaign of Peter Obi as the most competent presidential candidate. With incontrovertible evidence, GRV supports Mr. Obi’s legal bid to contest the presidential election results in Lagos because Obi won the state overwhelmingly. Opponents actually see GRV, a true Lagosian, as their biggest threat to that selfish anti-secession plan.

GRV resolutely refused to sell out and step down from the governorship race in spite of the enticements wrapped as so-called mouth-watering pecuniary offers. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour stands on principles of fairness, integrity, equity, justice and inclusiveness to enthrone a new government that will benefit everyone in Lagos, no matter where they come from.

I have not heard any body in Umuahia asking him to go back to his fathers state or that he is not Igbo enough to contest. Instead, people are excited about his courage and personality.

Yes. Because he does not have a past history of insulting Igbo people pre-election.

That is Chinedu Gbadebo's primary sin.

His past has come to haunt him.

Sentimental attitude aside.. I sincerely like this guy even not having met him before. I just wish he can and will be able to shake off this whol tribal weight attached to him away.

He can't shake off what he started.

Lagos would have welcomed him by a landslide victory at the polls if he had not displayed tribal sentiments by insulting Yoruba's in his past tweets before the current elections.

I would have voted him but he is a tribal bigot trying to change his spots and unfortunately, that means he can't be trusted.

This is a bit hypocritical.

Logos doesn't need this type of divisive chameleon who is only saying what people want to hear to attract votes

As a Satanist, I see nothing wrong with this but everything wrong with false abrahamic religion

One of the Ghanaian skits mocking the Christian church.

These were the same guys that put up a skit of supposed vaginal washing service.

Even if you don't believe in God, respect the views of others.

This is in seriously poor taste.
Politics / Re: What Did You Achieve In Buhari's 7+ Years? by drphantom: 1:11am On Mar 03, 2023
Nice2023:
I remembered when Buhari came into power, there were jubilation from right, left and centre, and after the jubilation came sorrow.

People were kidnapped, bokoharam decimated villages and bandits started their raping and ransacking most villages in the entire north west region and many more that we may not remember now.

But in the midst of these crises, they were booms and downs in the economy, people became extremely poor and some were extremely rich like never before.

Now,how have u guys fared in these 7years of Buhari considering the cost of living in our today's economy and what have u achieved so far?

Changed cars 3x

Salary x5

Other things.

All here in Lagos, Nigeria.

This is not to boast as Im sure other have achieved more. This is to encourage someone not to limit himself/herself to the whims and dictates of circumstances.

I don't plan my life around the environment.

Faith in God (and consequentlyin Gods ability in me), prayer, continuous learning and constant pushing for more.

God help look us beyond our environment and not allow them to become excuses

Some people are so daft; she is a Comedienne. The thing is just a skit & STOP falsehood.

She is a very clean lady. Check your facts!

Finally. Was waiting for someone to say it so I wouldn't have to.

Thank you

These are just a few links to get you started. They are focused on optimizing your LinkedIn profile and tips on beating the ATS software many recruiters use these days.

For your CV, I suggest perfecting your LinkedIn profile then downloading your profile as a CV ( you will find that feature under your profile). That way you have a generic CV you can tailor to specific jobs when applying for them.

Finally, you can pay for LinkedIn optimisation and a CV review. Cost can run from between NGN 25 - 75k depending on what exact service you're paying for and how skilled the person is. This is optional though. The links above can help you achieve the same result if their advice is carefully followed.

My case is not different from the Op's. I have a diploma in Chemical Engineering, BSc in Quantity Surveying and vast experience in construction project management because I spent my service year as a team member for the construction of a mall and modern markets in Kaduna state.
All CVs sent sent didn't bring a single invitation let alone telling them what you can offer.
This one na country?

Hello there.

Please refer to my comment to the OP.
It seems to me you're both making the same mistake.
