Sylvester Omoroni was a victim of bully in his school Dowen college, which resulted to him losing his life after sustaining internal injuries from the bully. His family had went ahead to employ the service of Mr Femi Falana, a Lawyer.

On December 9 during a space Kemi Olunloyo hosted on twitter, the renowned self acclaimed journalist said 12 years old Sylvester was willing to join cult, agreed to be beating and also accepted to drink engine oil.

Kemi also went ahead to say he willingly told the guys initiating him that he has seen his sisters unclothedness. She also compared boarding school to Big Brother Naija.

Ever since she made that statement, she is been dragged on all social platform. Some people called her demented, some called her callous, some said she has been paid to say that, other people called her an insensitive mother.

This lady is mad. Do people not have empathy? Does she not understand the issues with a 12 year old having access to cults in the school?

This lady is very unwise.

Easy to say when one's child wasn't a victim. Parents should withdraw their kids. Let Dowen embark on a campaign to change their culture.

What I am against is school lack of oversight on such things. There should be a formalised process for such things. I am not against seniors punishing juniors where clear definition on the punishments are stated.

It is not wrong. The problem is definition of the punishment. It also depends on the school.

Schools are clear on this. Parents should read the rules of the schools. Some schools allow seniors to punish juniors. At times the school requests that seniors do so. I was in a school where SS3s were often requested to punish armed robbers as an SS3 student and there was clear definition.

For those who recognise Koshoni and Aikhomu house, na 5th set I hail from.

This isn't bullying. Sending junior students on errands or punishing them for not doing their duties isn't bullying. That is life.

If it is not too late, sit down and ask yourself why the UBA woman's offer is interesting. Also think what would likely happen during and after the meeting.

I keep saying it that most dysfunctional marriages, not all(before they come for my head) is usually the fault of the man. From a surface point of view, it might seem like it's the woman. But most times. The woman is reacting to the deficiencies in the man.

When you treat a normal, healthy woman right and act like a leader, set the tone in the relationship. Not just shouting "I am the man" up and down. There is no how she would not submit and respect you. Men need to be held more accountable.

Thanks for your choice of words, financially sufficient to provide ... for his family. It probably would have been a better choice in my original post, but then I needed to paint a graphic picture so I used the word rich. Little did I know that some individuals hate that word... I consider being financially sufficient to provide for one's family as being rich. And such provision will not stop at just food, must be good food, health care, education and a decent status in the society. These things are really basic needs even though many now consider them luxury.

Agreed, Financially stable and sufficient would have been a better phrase. There are levels to this game of getting money.

If my mother had followed your advice, I wouldn't be alive today and I suspect neither would a very high proportion of the world.

Festus Keyamo is a SAN, meaning that he knows Nigeria's law deeply. He needs someone who understands the law as much as he does to engage him in such intellectual discussions. Unfortunately, Seun didn't do a good job.

my opinion - SAN is nothing nowadays. It no longer has as much respect. It only proves the person read some books very well. By the behaviour of the SAN bearing officials in the Nigerian government over the last few regimes, it stands for nothing.

I do not blame Seun for not probing. This government doesn't take kindly to criticism.

I think it's only Maupe Ogun-Yusuf who has the experience and intellectual capacity to engage Mr. Keyamo in such conversation.

I watched the interview and was surprised how Seun would let him get away with his controversial answers, probably because he doesn't know how to counter them.

Most likely if Seun tries to counter them he may be invited for further discussions by a government agency.
