Literature › Re: My Wizard Landlord (A True Life Story) By Attire Literature by Dshocker(m): 12:28am On Mar 08, 2023
Uchennam21:
I've heard several stories of witches and wizards, but getting to experience it directly was something else.It all happened in Calabar , Victor Akan street as a new landlord emerged to take over from the landlady.

The Calabar people have this tradition of women inheriting their father's house but our landlady decided to concede defeat by leaving the house to her brother and nobody could tell us why. Whatever that could make one to leave one's house wasn't ordinary. There could be more to it than it meets the eye.

The new landlord decided to move into the house immediately after gaining access to the house. The night he slept under the roof was a terrifying one. As a little boy who was just in primary four , I witnessed something I've never seen in my life before. It was as if the spiritual battle was meant to disturb our peaceful sleep.

That night , we woke up at night as we heard heavy sound on the rooftops. Vultures were crying and scratching the roof. We couldn't sleep as the time on the wall clock was 2 a.m. The vultures have come to circle and we had to pray fervently all night.

This was the first night the landlord slept under the roof with us , in his own room and we experienced the strange meeting. We only hoped that the night would transform into day.

In the morning , my brother had woken up to accidentally meet the landlord jubilating in the morning , " utele mi has shown them something ". Utele means Vulture in Efik language ,just like how we call it Udene in Igbo language. Utele mi ( my vulture has really shown them something.)

We didn't need a soothsayer to tell us who was on rampage on the roof at odd hours of morning . Ever since that day, we knew we would have to pitch the tent with a wizard who has come to showcase he won the house ownership using his spiritual warfare against the landlady.

Have you ever had such a Witchcraft experience? Let me know your story!

Politics › Re: INEC’s Application To Court To Reconfigure BVAS Raises Integrity Questions by Dshocker(m): 7:43pm On Mar 07, 2023
Padipadi:
Let me tell you all the truth.
As much as there's doubt over the integrity of INEC, all Nigerians must understand that the technology we use is not on same level as what's used in developed countries. It's even possible our INEC budget was higher than that of countries that conducted elections and there was no suspicion of foul play from all parties or the masses.
One on one, you all know that Nigeria lacked stable power supply. The network we use for phone calls, subscriptions or e-banking is not same level as what a country of the age and resources of Nigeria should have.
I laughed within me when INEC said they now v BIVAS. Of what use is technology when what you need to power and make it function smoothly is not available.
Don't be surprised when you see people borrowing INEC power bank or gen to power some equipments.
What am saying is we are at an all time low.
Instead of successive govts to be doing well, every Tom Dick and Harry ll come in after election and eat his/her own.
One major problem, reduction in cost of governance hasn't been solved. Buhariii won my heart with it in 2015 but I later realised the guy na scam. He even ate and allowed others to eat.
What I expect from youth is the real movement of making Nigeria work. Not Obidient, not Take It Back, not Revolution, not ENDSARS.
It's two things
1. A call on senate in national assembly and reps that all cost of governance, salary and emoluments should be slashed to civil servant ratio while the 1999 constitution is reviewed.

2. A determination to vote out candidates based on personal convictions. A lot voting don't v genuine info about who they are voting.

We can hold them for real by the scrotum if we demand for reduction in allowances of public service and elected personnel. This ll make politics less attractive.
My opinion.
All this you are saying is an excuse, the BVAS are working perfectly well, they intentionally shut and used manual.

Have you heard the voice note of a guy that interacted with Nedu wazobia?

A genius in IT, he explained what transpired with the BVAS.

The INEC chairman should step down, rumor has it that he collected $170m for Tinubu.

They intentionally shut down their BVAS, after spending N305b for the election and telling Nigerians cork and bull story.

In some countries, the citizens would have lynched the INEC chairman Mahmood Yakubu

Dear YORUBA, if you think Igbo love you... Tell them to make Yoruba Local government chairman in Anambra.
Your ideology is like that of a person suffering from juvenile delinquency.

First you say the candidate running under Labour Party is a terrorist and i ask, to what end and why?

Secondly you are asking the Yorubas to tell the Igbos to make a Yoruba man chairman in a local government; For your information every Nigerian has the constitutional right to run for any political office, irrespective of where they find themselves.

If you are running for an office in another region, the question you should ask yourself is, are the people in this locality going to vote for me, otherwise no need to waste resources.

If a Yoruba chooses to run for the office of governor in Imo or Anambra state, you must have made himself popular and convince the people there to vote for him.

Lol. People come online for cheap publicity. Labor party and her Zombidients Igbos started all these when they threatened to vote massively against APC in Lagos. My advice for Lagos govt is to start setting boundaries for non Yorubas. What they are trying in Lagos, no one will try it in their state. On Saturday we will know how far.
Your reasoning is below average and that was what Fisayo Soyombo is trying to point out.

So because the igbos chose to massively support a candidate is now a crime?

Although I have made up my mind not to comment on the Election of the 25th of February again but I will make an exception today.
Soyombo the real indigenes of Lagos State are very very very angry with the boastful, immature and uncouth language the Obidients have been pouring all over the media( online and offline).
I was born in Lagos, had my primary and secondary education in Lagos and went to government school with the real indigenes of Lagos growing up.
My secondary school education in Lagos State was in a boarding house in a far flung location, where having an ibo name automatically disqualified you from getting admission into the school.
I was admitted because I had both ibo and Yoruba names.
The Crux of my story is I'm in WhatsApp groups with my primary and secondary school friends and the feedback I get everyday from the group is disheartening.
The indigenes of Lagos are very very angry with the loud uncouth noise of the Obidients especially those from ibo extraction.
There's anger from imota to isale eko, from badagry to Epe,the people are seething with rage, even the educated ones are unleashing beastly articles about the occupation that's happening on their Homeland.
The admin of my WhatsApp groups have deleted many inflammatory post in our groups to calm down nerves.
Soyombo should know the mood of the real indigenes of Lagos is that of rage and anger to what they see as a hostile take over of their land.
I pray Sanwo-olu wins with a landslide on Saturday, that's the only thing that can assuage the feeling of anger among those I have talked to.
I will play my part by voting APC from top to bottom on Saturday.
It's an error to keep calling Lagos a no man's land, there are people who call Lagos their state of origin, you must respect the feelings of these real owners of Lagos
God bless Nigeria
Oga the real owners of Lagos, who are the Edos' are not making noise, it is those that came from neighbouring states in the Southwest that are making this noise.

Gatess:
THE UNDERRATED COTONOU

Since I was born till date, we Nigerians have always looked down on a lot of neighboring countries like Cameroon, Togo, Benin Republic etc.
Well, you are not to be blamed if you are among those who look down on some of these countries, even when we have not had an opportunity to cross border.

Well I was one of those people who actually looked down on most of these countries until I had an opportunity to sail round west Africa and the narratives changed.

Meanwhile I was completely marvelled the first time I visited Cotonou, the business hub of Benin Republic about 4 years ago when Patrice Talon newly took office
Two years after I re-visited, after touring round other west African countries. I spent 3 days here and without a waste of time, I concluded to relocate down to this place based on the level of development I saw, the security, serenity etc.

Finally I am now living here and I have no regret so far.

I will say this country is blessed with the best president who is working tirelessly to improve the living conditions of his beloved citizens and I am glad hearing citizens saying positive things about the president.

Things You Don't Know About Benin Republic...

Business Opportunities
From My Findings So Far...

*Tailoring is a place to explore especially when you sew English wears and Nigerian attires
* Sales of any kind of electronics which you can bring from Nigeria and Togo cos they are cheaper over there and expensive here.
* Sales of second hand phones and laptops, not forgetting their accessories too. Very lucrative
* Nigerian foods are in high demand especially areas where Nigerians live more. U go sell tire
* Sales of sewing machines(more of manual)and it's accessories are in high demand cos this is their major skill work with hairdressing.
* Phone and laptop repairs needs serious attention here cos most of the engineers are not competent enough
* Sales of motor parts/bike parts. Both are very good biz here too.
* Bilingual schools are still in high demand in some places including teachers.
* Transportation biz- As a naija man, u will do better plying from border to town, if you are a smart. As an okada rider, concentrate around Tokpa, Misebo and Beach, you will be fine too.
Those who are into okirika(2nd clothes, shoes & bags), it's still very profitable till date but you must have a good contact for you not to be cheated.
Etc

Let me drop my pen here for now. I will be sharing some photos of the places I have been to like the beaches etc . So stay tuned as we will be dropping more information to give you a comprehensive info about the country generally.
You forgot to mention that 98% of their citizens practice voodoo.

You can't use and dump their girls anyhow, else you go hear am, unless say the girl no report you give her family.

As i am typing this right now, a guy from my village is still running mad, after he deceived one of their girls with love and impregnated her, at the end he dumped her, sometime around year 2003 till date.
