We don win all the cups worth winning apart from the UCL and we are poised to win it cos we don't dwell on past glories unlike some peeps I know. |
Much respect to those whose performances in the Green and white made us proud of our football team while we were growing up. RIP. |
O ti pari fun liverpool, Gerrard's power game is becoming even more erratic. Fiorentina go beat una like small boys for Florence? chei. Wetin una go do now when Torres and Gerrard get injured eww? |
dayokanu:Where was Germany in the UEFA Under 19 competition where England came 2nd? besides una Baying Monkey people no let Tony Kroos develop now. Only God knows what that boy would have become by now if e get better coach like Arsene wey dey give youth chance. Besides, I've already said I have no sympathies for the british. I just pointed out the fact that they didn't have their better players in the team. |
Manure fans, it remains to be seen if Old man Giggs can bail you out of this one. |
@duduspace Are you Katt Williams in disguise? First and Foremost i would take opinions of experienced footie commentators over that of fans everyday of the week. Secondly. . Never ever ever mention Diaby & Defense in the same sentence cos even Cesc does more defending than Diaby does

Thirdly your example of the Hull game is a uber-poor one! Their goals came from a long range strike and a set-piece so i wonder what difference the diabolical one would have made there, infact we owned that game from start to finish and only our patented wasteful style allowed Hull to do a smash & grab on us.
I know who I'll prefer to have defending a set piece in the box between Cesc and Diaby. You also mention our patented wasteful style, due to our slow patient build up with Cesc's passing that allows opponents to get all men behind the ball. The truth is that Cesc and Denilson are the least direct of our mifield players (even Song is better than Cesc in this regards as he can drive with the ball). I will direct you again to our match against Standard for an example of what Diaby's power and penetration in MF can achieve when Cesc's pinpoint passes fail. The match against Fulham is the type of match we would have lost last season if not for the added steel we now have in defence and midfield. Cesc's passing was totally off in the 1st half and his passing success rate was well below 50% it actually seemed I was seeing a different player on the pitch cos I have watched Cesc live and I know how accurate his passing usually is but when you have pressing experienced and determined midfielders like Murphy, they can upset Cesc's rythm.
Stop referring to that annoying 17 game run it didnt win us shyte do u know we drew about 4 straight games in that run?3 at home and against sub-par opposition too? Ok how about the crucial run of games we lost at the tail end of last season? Against Chelsea in the F.A semis Diaby was undoubtedly the worst player on the pitch
A very myopic appraisal of a critical period in the development of this present Arsenal team. That 17 game run gave this team the confidence that they could cope with the weekly rigours of the league (giving an expected level of performance weekly) after the dispersal of our midfield of the immediate past season. I disagree with the conclusion on the FA cup, fans only turned on Diaby becos they felt Arshavin could have done a better job something I don't necessarily agree with becos it remains a matter of conjecture how a lightweight midfield of Walcott, Cesc, Denilson and Arshavin would have fared against the likes of Ballack, Lampard, Essien et al. though IMO I would have preferred having Arshavin on rather than Walcott but then Walcott got the goal so can't complain about his inclusion.
Besides his occasional flash in the pan performances he is one player whose inclusion in the team is somewhat mind-boggling he lacks defensive steel and tackling ability of a DM,he is not creative enough to be a Cesc, too slow to be a winger and he definitely cannot drive a team like an Essien,Gerard or Paddy V would do. So please tell me his use other than an extra body in the squad or as he's been aptly described "a luxury player"
His supposed flash in the pan performances are becoming more of a regularity (with more minutes on the pitch of course) his inclusion in the team is definitely not mind boggling to the gaffer. I agree he is a work in progress and has so much potential yet to be realised but I do recall a certain Alex Song who was considered by a large section of Arsenal fans as being unworthy of wearing the shirt until he had a run in the side to make the holding role his. And I repeat for clarity sake, Abou Diaby has so much penetrative power that Cesc can only dream of. Injury has hampered his development at a critical stage but when that boy gets it all together, he is going to be some player just you watch |
Isnt it obvious the only retard here is sharon ![]() And by the way y'all should shut up already about past trophies. What lameness. Nottingham forest and leeds can boast better football achievements than some premiership teams, that doesnt mean they are not digging dirt in the lower lower. Maybe arsenal is waiting for 50 years and 'blood money' to reassure their title credibility ![]() When next you gunners and scumtwats lose a match, i suggest you just go and look at your trophy cabinet and jack off. . .happy now? Idiots
We don't need such money, we always do our things the right way. Usmanov come take the money beg us but we refuse am. We are not interested in dubious awoof money like trophy starved Chelsea fans. By the way, you'd better get used to jacking off cos there is no trophy in your immediate future. |
dayokanu:I feel no pity for them at all, a nation that glorifies graft and endeavour ahead of creativity and tactical nous are bound to always fail when the going gets tough. I mean when you can't appreciate having a club that plays like "The Arsenal" and you always seek to belittle and humiliate a genius like "Le Prof" instead of appreciating him then providence would be very stupid to smile upon you. Having said that though, that Under 20 squad is not the best England could have come up with, what do you expect when Arsenal refuses to release Wilshere, Chelsea refuses to release Sturridge, Aston Villa Delfouneso and ManU Wellbeck? The best English players have not been released by their clubs. I don't blame Arsenal for not releasing Wilshere though, his experience with the Under 17s was bad enough, the English system and style of play just does not seem to suit little Jack, besides he is already in the Under 21s. |
dayokanu:Haba Baying Monkey, you smart pass this one. The change of name from Champion's Cup to Champion's League was to reflect the change in the format of the competition. The format of the UEFA cup has not changed, only the name has. It is still meant to give clueless teams like Tottenham a feeling of achievement when they've missed out on the main prize in the UCL. I understand why you're bigging up that competition, it is because you already have a gnawing feeling that is where you are headed when you are knocked out of the UCL. Your liver don dey fail you already. I wish you all the best in your Europa league endeavours. |
ritchboy:Na real blood money, that is the only viable explanation for money miss road spending like that. The 2 premier league titles they won was compensation for the amounts they remitted to HRM coffers that na why dem no fit do anything for europe. Now that the Abrahamoney guy don wise up go dey negotiate with the Blatter and Platini axis to stop indiscriminate spending, premier league title don dry up be that and Chelsea are back to their humble beginnings i.e being massacred at places like Wigan. Water must to always find im level. |
KunleOshob:Yes o, as much as I would have liked to congratulate him I unfortunately cannot as he is a fu***in Scum and that lot are persona non grata with me but at least it brings some balance to the moderation of the forum so ride on joo. |
dayokanu:Abegi, no dey mention all those useless cups. na only UCL dey relevant. Yu go dey mention cup wey dey so irrelevant dem get to rename am. If e no be like panadol, na original agbo jedi. chamotex:They thot they had some magicians in their midst but Humburg showed them they were still the masters of hocus pocus |
mukina2:no mind the silly boy, e wan emulate Hamilton. |
tocdee:O jo nige o fe sunkun (E burn am for muscle, e wan cry). Poor Liverpudian don't worry, the gallant Saudi prince rides in gallantly over the horizon to save you from Administration and so a once great English club with proud tradition becomes yet another wealthy Sheikh's plaything. |
tocdee:edit that to read the less you think at all. Pele ma binu, giving you headaches am I? All gooners are brainy and I ain't stereotyping but I can't say the same about people who waste money and end up getting banned from conducting transfers in the process. ![]() What a laff, the Chavs are so thick, they can't even get tranfers right. |
Am i dreamin? Whats all this noise been made about Diaby? He was arguably the worst player on red and white last Saturday! He sucked so bad that even the commentators wondered why Diaby was being pimped like a two dollar ho by Danny Murphy (who's about half his size i could almost swear i saw him in chinchilla fur with a hat to match)anyone who saw the match on Hitv would attest to that. He's been at Arsenal since 06 and is yet to prove he is more than just a squad member! Even younger players like Song,Walcott,Nasri and maybe even a Denilson have somewhat proven their relevance.Diaby has not Pls when is Nasri coming back? I'm tired of seeing that diabolical fella
This is a big lie, I went to a Fulham fan site the day after the match (just to see if I had a biased appraisal of the game) and the general consensus there was that our 3 best players on the day (after The keeper of course) were RVP, Song and Diaby. Have you ever for once wondered why our defensive frailties of last season ended with the emergence of Song and Diaby in MF? go back and watch the match against Hull at the Emirates last season when the lightweight MF of Denilson and Cesc were overpowered. Go back and watch our 17 game unbeaten run after our 3-0 loss to Man City and you will understand exactly what I'm talking about. |
I think not dayokanu, we don't waste energy on Mickey Mouse Cups that mean nothing, our targets are much higher and we will get there. At present we have to cope with being in the top 4 in Europe while we aim for the ultimate price but you need to be worried about dropping into pot 2 in Europe when clubs like Wolfsburg and Humburg start teaching you how to tap soccer. |
I can never be jealous of a Tottenham side United raped with 10 men.
Raped ke? they practically sodomized them, performed all sorts of other BDSM acts on them, before they now shat all over them in their own "Shit house lane" I heard their players could barely walk and had to be carried out of the stadium. Such a traumatic experience they are unlikely to recover from anytime soon. Weaklings that lot are, always falling to pieces when it matters. |
The Administration threatened Reds must be feeling quite optimistic going up against this "Money miss road" club after their bubble was rudely burst by the "Bumbling Bramble" led Wigan. Chei, even the rich also cry. It is as clear as day that there will be much weeping at the bridge this season. |
This one na confirmed 3 points, I'm only lookin forward to Friday's injury news for good news on Nasri's recovery. We need him while Denilson has gone to the old people's home temporarily. |
debosky:Take am easy ol'boy what of the pass to Bendtner that brought us back against Liege when it seemed Cesc had given up on the day? Cesc is class no doubt, but don't make Diaby out to be an idiot as that is something he definitely is not, sure his game atimes seems immatured but that will come with experience and game time in a defined role which is something Cesc has had since he was 17 while Diaby's carreer has been interrupted by injury. Cesc can not even dream to have the power and penetration that Diaby has. |
I will speak up for Diaby on this forum, he is finally getting a run out in the team in his preferred position and has actually been one of our most improved player. Cesc right now is living on his reputation IMO (though I do agree he has so much class and will stop the rot soon) if Diaby at anytime played as badly as Cesc did in the first half against Fulham, I'm sure he might not get the opportunity to play for us ever again but the thing is that when Cesc has a poor outing people always end up blaming Song, Denilson and Diaby rather than Cesc himself. Diaby's career has been blighted by injury so far but the penetration and strength he brings to our midfield in conjunction with Song's emergence is finally giving us a semblance of what we had in the PV4 era rather than the "Weak" arsenal midfield the british press and pundits found it so easy to make fun of at the beginning of last season. |
tocdee:Chei, see desperate people dey clutch at straws. Una go still carry una Liverpool shares go Oshodi market go sell. |
And the once mighty Reds have finally been given their death sentence not from going into administration this time but due to their being drawn against the all conquering Arsenal Youth/Carling Cup team. You would recall the last time the Arsenal 3rd string team visited Anfield in the 06/07 season, when they gave their older and more experienced opponents a black eye walloping them 6-3. Anyone willing to bet against a similar outcome would be a fool (who are too often parted from their money) and will probably soon be filing for bankruptcy protection in typical Anfield fashion rather than smiling to the bank in typical Arsenal fashion. |
dayokanu:Ol'boy chill, dem tell you say na September dem dey win league? the only thing I know is that the descent of a once great club into mediocrity becomes apparent when they start losing to non title contenders. And the fall from grace to grass of the once mighty Bayern Munich continues, now they can't even beat the lowly HUMBURG. |
@Deepsight Am I right in summarising your belief as being something like this: God created the Universe and some laws to govern it and he is not overtly bothered with what we do (i.e interfere in our affairs much) but allows his laws to govern it? Can I then ask what was his motivation in creating such a rat race in the first instance? did the creation of the universe serve any purpose for God? Apart from affirming his own self importance as most religions tend to suggest. |
Reading this thread further enlightens me about the dearth of intelligence in our country, I mean one of the greatest musicians of all times is pregnant with an 8 year old reanimated embryo and some people don't consider this newsworthy? I marvel. |
EXTRA EXTRA, read all about it: LIVERFOOL IS THE NEW LEEDS, GOES INTO ADMINISTRATION. COMING SOON TO A CINEMA NEAR YOU. GET YOUR TICKETS NOW. |
mukina2:O ti o, I knew Dayokanu is a "Baying Monkey" (abi na wetin dem dey call Baying Monkey sorry Bayern Munich supporter?) but no way is he a poof, mba. I no beleive Muki for dis one, na becos she no wan go dere. |
mazaje:I'm fine my brother, hw is life treating you? |
Deep Sight:Even in bounded randomnes, patterns begin to appear which is why we have all those distributions such as Poisson, binomial, exponential e.t.c. In a timeless eternity I am bold to say that anything can happen and to use one of Davidylan's popular jibes even monkeys can become men in a timeless scenario. |
Deep Sight:It is definitely a possibility, but every other layer of dogma that each religion places atop this basic premise only serves to expose them for what they are, thoughts and philosophies of men. My stand remains that if god really exists, no one else can speak for him and if he is really god he would be able to speak in a way that his supposed creation would be able to understand without a shadow of a doubt. |
