When you upgrade it will cool down a little, but try and dim the lights a bit,and fine what work best for you. Another thing maybe your environment is way too hot. How is the battery life? Cause when a phone is as hot like that it's consume a lot of battery, try optimization is the security app

Download 8.1.3.0 from miui website, rename it as 'update.zip', put it in the internal memory (not in any folder), update and do a factory reset afterwards. I skipped 8.0.5.0 and went straight to 8.1.1.0 when I bought my phone.

After the factory reset, use the phone till it dies completely, then charge it fully

GrandMufti, is it normal for RN3 SE temperature to be this high while browsing over 4G? By the way, I haven't installed a single app on the phone, and I'm still running Miui 8 that was shipped with it.

Some of them are very corrupt. I remember when my bro in the UK sent some baby stuff to my sister, she was asked to pay 9k before they would release them. Though that was at a different post office.

So, I took delivery of my RN3 Pro SE earlier today at the post office. Surprisingly, i wasn't asked of handling fee or anything of sorts. They only made verification by asking of my ID. I guess only corrupt officials ask for handling fee, because i don't think there is anything like that.

I haven't had time to really explore it, though switched it on briefly.

With this method, you can run any custom rom or kernel you want, just as you would with an unlocked bootloader. There is nothing unideal about it. You can root it as well. You should go through the thread.

if u are up to task of unlocking ya bootloader, install twrp recovery image, rooting ya fone.....den yes, u can run vanilla roms with some nice customizations u wunt found on nexus/pixel fones

You don't even need to unlock the bootloader in order to install Nougat Custom roms. Just follow the instructions on this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/kate-guide-install-lineage-os-locked-t3546154

I don't blame you. I only blame the fools that will take your word for it.

To anybody who is interested in this phone, go ahead and buy it. If you don't like the custom rom, you can always revert to LG stock. Personally, i would install more 7.1.1 nougat custom rom instead. I prefer nougat custom roms over LG stock.

Some Xiaomi devices don't have fixed fingerprint sensor hardware. For instance, two RN3 SE devices might have two different FP hardware, like Goodix and FPC 102x. So, i just want to have an idea as to which FP hardware is common among those ones shipped from China. Also, in terms of custom roms, FPC 102x enjoys more support as it's the most popular FP hardware.

By the way, other Xiaomi device owners can also contribute, not necessarily RN3 SE owners.

GrandMufti and other RN3 SE users, I'd like to know which fingerprint sensor hardware your devices are using. It's either goodix or fpc 102x.
To find out, dial *#*#64663#*#* on your phone, then tap on Software version. Now scroll down to see it.

You can also check with a file manager by going to /data/Fpcd then it's FPC, but if /data/goodix that means you have goodix.

In most places I've tried Etisalat 4G in Abuja, reception has been very terrible.

many ppl make d mistake of not ensuring that their devices support glo 4G band 20 (700mhz). Not entirely their fault as those reps in glo office are confused as well. Nonetheless it was really fast bfr but glo has been throttlin the speed of recent. I called CC and i was told it's temporary but i think it's time to try etisalat 4G.

Is the etisalat 4G reception available in Gwarimpa?

Mine is worse because I pleaded with the seller to ensure he sends out the package before the 21st. He did that but there was no further update after he handed over the package to the airline. Even SingPost couldn't track the package and I sent him multiple messages expressing my frustration with the slow pace. Most times,they might not have the item and use the period to look for the item for ship out.

I got a new update this morning and I believe he handed over the package after the holidays.

Interesting experience. These things can be quite frustrating sha.

Don't think you can cancel the order once it has been shipped. Patience is your only option cos even if you open a dispute, that's likely what you will be told.
